The loud twangs of bullets hitting vibranium echoed down the large base as a group of six soldiers opened fire on the star spangled hero and his rather eccentric half metallic friend. It was still unknown as to why the hell they were over across the world, in Russia, infiltrating some unknown base for records of a new missile system. Hell, this wasn't the American Dream that Steve wanted to pursue, but if it meant saving millions of lives, then sure as hell he would do it.
"Remind me why we are here again?" Cap smirked as he continued to hold his shield up against the oncoming fire. This was supposed to be a covert mission, but obviously it was hard to go unnoticed in costumes. His eyes darted around the room, and they fell upon a gas pipe. With a decisive smirk, he turned his head to Cable. "On that note, think you can hit that gas pipe over there G.I JOE?" They were two SHIELD agents, becoming quite the uncanny friends.
Edit: Stupid, idiotic grammar mistakes.

Cable didn't have to actually hit the gas pipe, not with his gun anyway, he could just pull it loose telekinetically and then fire when the gas was on its way out. Which is precisely what he did, the explosion was delightful, but as far as Cable was concerned it was just cover.
"We're here to shut down an illegal research facility that's going to put Russia's nuclear striking power fifty years ahead of the rest of the world and arrest the chief researchers for crimes against humanity." he responded as he ducked behind a steel crate, popping his Pulse Rifle out to one side every few moments to spray off a few shots, after telepathically suggesting to his opposition now was an ideal time to jump out of cover and rush the American Invaders, of course.
"The upside is, this facility doesn't exist in any legal or admitted way as far as the Russian's are concerned, to its impossible for us to be shutting it down, if you get my drift." Cable continued before breaking from his cover, the pushing towards the next spot, being sure to put boot to face on a downed but not out soldier.

Underneath his mask, Steve's eyebrow raised as the gas pipe literraly tore itself off the wall and exploded. It made him feel a bit inept around Cable, as the guy obviously had some ability advantages, but what Cap lacked in absolute power, he made up for in sheer force of will. They were here to defend the American people and the entire world, and that was enough strength for Steve to punish all of these punks.
Raising his shield, Cap began sprinting forward into a crowd of four soldiers, his shield blocking all attempted gunfire. Within a few moments, he was in the middle of the fray and rather expertly decking the soldiers with fluid motions of well revised close-quarters combat. Punch's and knives came his way, only to have the arm holding them snapped rather forcefully and then the body violently thrown into the ground.
"As far as the government is concerned, we are enjoying a day off and a good cold beer." Smirking, he looked around, and noticed that, on the roof, there was a CCTV monitor showing a hallway beyond the room they were in. There were more soldiers, pouring in, which wasn't exactly bad; it would just slow down the S.H.I.E.L.D agents more. "Cable, lock down that door. I'll give you cover."

Cable looked over to the door, by the looks of it, it was designed to slide upwards as someone approached, Cable could probably make his way over to the security console and lock it off. That might take too long. The grizzly old war veteran from the future rushed towards the steel door before hopping upwards, metallic fist slamming into the door, leaving a very deep dent. If the door tried to slide open now, it was just catch itself and get stuck before it got anyway.
Nathan scanned their surroundings, between the ones he had shot and the ones Cap had beaten into oblivion with his shield, they appeared to have cleared the immediate area, and the goons on the far side of door would take time before they got through.
Cap might have had him covered, but there was always someone ready to pull off a shot at you, this is what forced Cable into a duck and roll, with a small telekinetic shield just in case. His metallic hand grabbed at a steel table, one of those wheel about ones, before hurling it towards his opposition.

Cable's method of dealing with the door was humourous to the American Icon. Instead of dealing with the technology, he merely punched a damn dent in the thing, which worked just as well. Cap kept a keen eye for soldiers, but he wasn't fast enough to stop one remaining survivor from firing; but Cable was on his feet and dodging. Cap was ready to pulverise the soldier, but a table was flung at knocked the poor chap unconcious. Clapping his hands together, he moved to where Cable was.
"You know, with all those rifles and powers you have, you haven't forgotten the old fashioned ways. Good to see." Patting him on the back, he moved over to the control panel and began searching through. "We are looking for overall construction plans and formulas-..." He was cut off by a large smashing on the door that Cable had stopped. Shield at the ready, the American Soldier waited eagerly to see their new opponent.
The thing broke the door down and stepped forward, it was a manned robot. How bloody cliche. "Now, what kind of operation would this be without a big bad robt hunting us down?" The thing looked armed with two turrets on each arm, plus two minor pulse cannons on its shoulders.

{{Its a boss fight!}}
Great, a bit robot. Like Cable didn't deal with crap like this in the past all the time in his home dimension. "This won't be as tough as it looks." he offered to Cap, before unleashing his pulse rifle on his opponent, its rounds could burn through the metals used in this age without effort, no problem at all.
*Dern, must rush off to work, if you want to post, go for it, otherwise, I'll finish this later

(Metal Gear Solid boss music plays.)
Cable's pulse rifle was pretty damn effective against the walking tin can. The round pierced directly through the manned-machine's right shoulder, completely blowing the right arm off. The Russian soldier inside cursed in both suprise and anger, before he aimed the left shoulder cannon at Cable. He fired, but Cap's shield was up, blocking the blast with ease. "Not today." He smirked as he began to push forward, the blast still harmlessly trying to force its way through his indestructible shield. Pushing forward, Cap was now at the things legs. With one solid kick forward into it's left leg, the thing lost balance slighty. Cap used that moment to rather brutally smash his shield directly into the face of the robot, which was known as the cockpit. The cover smashed, and Cap's hand grabbed onto the soldier, before tossing him out.
"Think you can read his mind? Get us some info?" Grabbing the back of his neck, he threw the soldier at Cable's feet, before forcefully placing his foot upon his back to keep him down. He didn't exactly feel good doing it, but these people needed a harsh firm lesson in discipline.

Cable watched as Cap managed to finish off the robot....power suit, over rated pieces of crap. The pilot being tossed out however, would more then likely have valuable information. Assuming that machine was about the height of their hitting power, the pilot was likely a high ranking soldier, and as such, privy to information on the really important people.
When Cap had him held down, Cable replied to his question with a nod. His telepathy kicked in, hunting through the pilots mind, eventually the name Javier Rodriguez came up, that clearly wasn't Russian, but who knew who they were bringing in to help. "The lead engineer is Javier Rodriguez, he designed what we just destroyed, at there's at least two dozen of them stationed here right now. Others already shipped out internationally to be sold in the black market." he informed, slinging his gun over his shoulder. "Anything else you can think of I should search for?"

Just robots? That couldn't be right. There was reports of nuclear waste in the area and the sightings of great deals of cargo transpot off the border of China. The robots were only a small piece in the larger jigsaw puzzle. "You aren't that ignorant, are you?" He smirked at Cable, not really wanting to point out the obvious that there was more to this than met the eye; or in Cable's case, the mind. "The robots are only one part. We're here to discover missile technology advances. Why would there be nuclear waste in the area?"
"Stupid Americans. You really don't know anything about us."
"What was that, son?" Captain America pushed his foot down rather hard as the soldier at his feet spat a large amount of saliva at Cable's feet. The ultimate sign of disrespect. The soldier merely grunted in slight pain as Cap stamped him again with his foot. "Search him again. He's hiding something." This was beginning to frustrate Cap. He hated when one simple Black-Ops mission turned into something huge.
