It was a nice Saturday, the sky was pretty clear, most of the student body was out, and Alex was at his cello, after all, if you didn't use a skill, you lost it. With the Music society launched now, he had all the more reason to be on his top game. Of course, Alex was never huge on his classical music, he was a cool young person. That's why Alex was in the music room playing Path it was one of his favourites to play, rather hard when you were on your own, but with an audio track playing behind him, taking care of the none Cello parts.

A boring saturday and nothing to do, Valeria walked the halls of the Mass Acad, in hopeful wishing of finding something to cure her boredom. It was either that...or going back to hitting the books. Something caught her interest though. The sounds of what sounded like the love child of classical music and metal. Valeria entered the classroom and saw one of the new teachers playing the cello. Interesting because he didn't seem like the type to play such an instrument.
"So...is that like a remix of Mozart or something?" she asked jokingly.

Alex turned to look when he realised he wasn't alone anymore, the Irish teacher couldn't help but smile. "Not quite, its an original piece." he replied. "Do you play anything yourself?" he asked, he was aware she was very capable at mastering the sciences of the world, but was rather unsure how capable she was at the arts.

"No, I can't say I do. I've always been a book nerd...by force I mean." Valeria replied walking closer. "I am good on the drums while playing Rockband 2 but to play a real instrument, not really to sure. I've been wanting to learn though." she shrugged.

"Never too old to start an instrument, some of the best in history didn't start until their late teen years." he informed, fingers lightly flicking away at his Cello. "Anything you looking at in particular?"

"I don't really know. I mean, there are so many different kinds, I wouldn't know where to start. The flute...or an electric guitar. Maybe the french horn?" Valeria asked rubbing the back of her head. Did she even have time take out and practice an instrument? She barely got time to be a normal teenager. Learning how to play something would just suck up more of her agenda.
"What would you suggest? Something easy please."

"Well you could take up those drums you mentioned when you came in, they say it suits people who are either good with their hands or very loud." Most people in the Academy were loud, but Valeria seemed to be the type who could be both loud and good with her hands. Yep....seemed likely indeed.

"You're kidding right? Playing drums for a video game is not the same as playing them for real." Valeria replied folding her arms. She imagined herself as a drummer. Spiked hair dyed black and orange, tattoos everywhere as well as piercings. Her dad would totally freak and probably demand that she went back to a normal look.
"Do YOU even know how to play the drums? If I wanted to learn the drums, I'd like to know if my teacher would be able to...you know, teach."

"Okay, no I don't know how to play the drums." he asked, with a slight chuckle, she had him there. "But people who can teach you are a dime a dozen, pick up any newspaper." he informed, and by heavens there was plenty.
"Now, if you'd like to learn the Cello, I'd be happy to teach." he informed, picking up his bow and starting a slow, lamenting little tune. It always made him think of some ye old lover waiting for someone.....he wasn't sure why in particular. Still, it was a beautiful little piece, and hopefully she thought the same.

On second thought, maybe the drums shouldn't be the instrument of Val's choice. I mean...it just didn't suit her personality. However when she heard Mr. Davis's cello playing...it struck a cord in her. No pun intended. It was such a lovely melody...somewhat sad. It reminded her of her relationship with Calvin...or rather how she wanted a relationship. Nothing was set in concrete...not to mention that they been hiding the fact that they've been 'talking' to protect him from her father. None the hell if she learned a classical instrument like the cello, it would just look spectacular right next to her grades.
"I wouldn't mind learning the cello actually. That's a beautiful melody you're playing. This might sound corny, but it'd be super cool if I could be all dramatic and express my emotions through music..."
