"Okay then." Maya pursed her lips together and went onwards to the classroom hall. They were all grouped together, as not to be disturbed by the gym and training classes. They walked into one of her very prep school like classrooms and she crossed her arms as she let Kara get a better look.
"Not that special, but it looks better than one of those public school dungeons." she grinned while lookign at the dark wooden walls, ornate chairs and desk and the few plants strategically placed in the room.
"There are more just like these, but there are some really cool ones. she said, eluding to the octogon.

They looked like classrooms to her. Kara raised an eyebrow, looking at Maya skeptically. Kara had never gone to public school, so she wouldn't know. "How cool can a classroom be?" She asked, trying to get Maya to talk.

"Well there is one that is sorta like a giant wrestling room. Its more for electives, but every student goes in there once in a while." Maya said truthfully. She wasn't sure how much this girl was told and who should be telling her this.
"But anyways on to the kitchen. Most of the students eat in the dining hall, but snacking is usually in here." she said while moving down the hall towards the kitchen. "So how old are you?" she asked while just getting to the spacious kitchen.

Kara nodded, confused as heck but hiding it. Why would a prep school like this have a big wrestling room? It seemed rather out of character, and it sure hadn't been mentioned on the website Kara had found.
Kara nodded happily, she liked kitchens. She liked snacking instead of eating fixed meals. "Fourteen." She said absently in response to Maya's question. She turned suddently and looked at Maya, a strange urgency in her face. "Are there any special people here?" She asked, then clapped her hand over her mouth, realising what she'd said. you messed up bad, Kara.

Maya remembered what she was like when she was fourteen, however she wasn't going to live in a mutant school but a dance academy. The girl stopped when she saw that Kara asked about special people. Her face was stressed and she looked like she wished she hadn't said anything. Maya went out on a limb and smiled for the girl.
"Special people? Like mutants?" she asked with a gentle voice.

Warren was headed down the stairs to get something to eat. He had spent the moring down in the training room working on his aerial acrobatics and managed to work up a considerable hunger. His body was in excellent shape but some people truly didn't understand the amount of energy it actually took to get his body into the air and flying around on sure muscle alone. Being adapted for that purpose helped but it also meant he ate far more then it looked like his frame could support. He had jokingly thought about taking an image inducer and entering an eating contest just to put all the so called "pros" of the sport to shame.
After his training he had gone back to the dorm to shower and change and was headed down the hall to the quickest route to the kitchen. Since he was indoors and he didnt feel like fighting to get one of his specially made shirts on he wore a simple pair of nike sweat pants, black with white stripes down the side, and nothing else. His metallic wings where folded back for the moment since there really wasnt any room to spread them to their full length. As he neared the stairs to head down to main level he heard two voices speaking, one was Maya Lopez who he clearly recognized and the other was new to him.
Since patience wasn't really his virtue and there was a stranger in the house Warren decided to try something more outgoing. Maybe if he became a little more spontaneous people would stop mocking him when they thought he wasn't listening.
Grabbing the top rail of the stairs Archangel heaved his body over the top of the stairs and began the quick plummet to the ground. While it wasn't a high enough drop to be considered deadly it could certainly hurt from this height and he highly doubted Amber would heal a broken leg thanks to some stupid stunt. As he fell he snapped the muscles in his shoulders and his wings flared out partially as their metallic lengths revealed themselves to the world.
His wings slowed his fall just enough that when he landed behind Maya he was able to simply bend his knees slightly and absorb the rest of the impact with little trouble.
"Hello Maya," he said making sure the deaf mutant could see his lips, "it appears we have someone new to our school." Warren could tell she was new but the luggage and the suprised look on her face. Hopefully when she noticed his blue skin and large metallic wings partially opened she wouldn't freak out too badly.

Kara stared at Maya, eyes wide. "Y-yes." She stammered, too surprised to try to make anything up. Well that lasted for less time they you thought it would, She told herself grimly. Kara forced a defiant look onto her face and looked up at Maya. She opened her mouth to say something, then shut it again with a snap as another person dropped in. Literally. "Shit." She exclaimed, jumping backwards like a started bird. And speaking of birds... Kara stared at the guy who'd just dropped into the kitchen. He was bright blue, he had metal wings and... he was cute and shirtless. She blushed, looking up him, getting over her fright real quick.

Maya's heart raced as she saw Warren nose dive for the ground. She could only imagine what game was was playing at. Obviously he was going for the wow factor. Even being in the same school as him for a while, she was still at awe in seeing his wings. They were just beautiful.
Maya gaves Warren a half hearted smile and watched what he was saying.
"Yes, this is Kara. She's fresh off the boat." she smiled.

Warren chuckled slightly as the new girl was startled by his arrival. Apparently this one was a bit skittish but that was too be expected for new arrivals here at school. At least Jean-Paul hasn't stumbled across her yet......
"Yes, this is Kara. She's fresh off the boat."
"Nice to meet you Kara, my name is Warren and welcome. Don't worry....this place takes some getting used to. I had that same look on my face when I first arrived too."

Kara stared at the other two, and it hit her right then. It hadn't been an accident that she'd found this place, she suspected that if she hadn't been a mutant, she wouldn't have been able to find this place. Apparently this was a school for mutants. How cool. You just think it's cool because you think he's cute. She told herself, but that wasn't a bad reason to like it here. "Your blue face?" She asked without thinking.
Kara clapped a hand over her mouth and looked at Warren, horrified. "Oh god, I didn't mean, er I mean..." She blushed bright red and waited for his heart beat to speed up as he got angery.

Maya smiled at the girl, but then turned to Angel as she spoke somewhat out of turn. Now Maya knew that Angel wasn't the most friendly type, but he was nice. The girl's only hope was that he didn't frighten this girl to death before she even met Ms Frost.
"Yeah, um... '' she said, "there are more with stranger abilities."

And there it was. It had taken the new kid in school exactly two minutes flat before she pointed out to Warren that his skin was in fact blue. While he was somewhat shocked his anger only rouse slightly. The fact is most people tried to walk around on pins and needles with the blue skinned mutant, almost like his obvious physical mutations where a secret or something. This girl however had shown some spine by being blunt about it even if she did try and retract the statement rapidly. He grinned just enough to show his teeth in a kind of predatory smile as Maya stepped in and made another quick comment, obviously thinking Warren would react harshly. Normally he would have but for some reason today wasn't going to be that day. Instead he just tilted his head slightly at Echo's comment.
"Oh they might have stranger abilities Maya, but no one else here is lucky enough to have my wonderful skin tone as the newbie pointed out." With that he turned and furled his wings inward so that they lay closer to his body and wouldn't be such an obstacle in the hallway.
"So where were you ladies headed before I rudely interuptted you?"

Kara was supprised that Warren hadn't gotten angery. Especially after Maya had reacted like that, she'd expected to be screwed. The girl smiled back at the cute, shirtless boy, her own smile a bit less fierce. "Yeah, I wish my skin was... red or something. Then people wouldn't try and touch me." She nodded, "Yep. Phisical mutations are so much cooler." Kara, once she was comfortable, often couldn't seem to keep her opinions to herself. It was a skill of hers.
She watched Warren out of the corner of her eye and tried not to touch his wings. They were so beautiful, and he was seriously hot. Calm down girl. she told herself quickly. "We were... showing the 'newbie' around."

Maya tended to keep to herself when in a converstation with more than one person. It was easier for her not to have to twist her head in all sorts of directions to get the full conversation. So Maya looked down at her finger nails and methodically picked under her nails. Yes it was a dirty habit, but it gave her something to do as Warren spoke with the girl.
"Huh?" she asked when she thought she saw her name in the converstation. "Erm I was just going to show her the dorms. Did you want to tag along? Afraid I'm not the best hostess."

Warren had to admit he liked the new girl. She seemed to be honest and up front. Her comment about not wanting other people to touch her was a little strange but frankly he could understand the desire to keep everyone at a distance. Given his choices in combat and his general demeanor most people tended to judge him and treat him like a prick. Of course if someone had to be that guy on the team Warren was more then happy to do so. He moved slightly so that he stood closer to Kara so it would be easier for Maya to see both of their sets of lips while speaking with the deaf mutant.
"Sure," he said with a bored shrugged, "I guess I could help give her the grand tour of this place. As long as you don't expect me to join me when she has to go see Ms. Frost then I'll hitch along the ride for now."
