First thing first, Sage. If the woman truly thought she could yell something out and Polaris not hear, she was stupider than Lorna had believed. Because of this, Polaris could respond accordingly and appropriately by increasing the surge of electro-magnetic energies, allowing them to engulf her body and begin expanding in a rapid, pulsating beat; think like a heart, and with each rapid movement it increases in size.
Because of this, Jean was able to take out
Sentinel #3's missile, but even that worked to the Mistress of Magnetism's advantage, so much so the green-haired wench muffled out laughter behind a sinister smirk. "
Idiots, all of you.," she muttered, not really loud enough to be heard but meaningful enough to be meant.
Polaris warned them, yet they insisted. Let them die, she thought, and relish in their final moments what it is to be buried in failure. She would have no remorse, as her task was brought to the forefront and put on the line.
Rak, rak, rak~!Sage and Jean...
The other two - Chain and Sunshine - just stood there, which perplexed Polaris. Did they have incredible powers, or were they merely back up support? Lorna couldn't decipher that, nor did she really have the time as her electro-magnetism continued to expand, eventually brushing across the soil below and shredding into it, like a predator's claws to prey.
If they did, they had better do something, and quick.
Back to that missile explosion, which seemed over and done with the moment Jean guided it safely away from the Library of Congress. However explosions carry thermal heat, an increase in diffusivity, which means conductivity rapidly increases, something Lorna could control, which she did.
General rule of thumb, if it was on the electro-magnetic spectrum, it was susceptible to Lorna Lehnsherr's manipulation, control, and influence.
Rak, rak, rak~!Raising her right hand, Lorna reached out towards where the missile explosion was, applied pressure and took control of the particles in the air.
Good, now to step two.
Control established, Lorna began to condense and electrically charge the orb's interior, preparing to replicate another explosion. Think of it as rewinding what had just happened and hitting play, allowing it to be given a second chance. However this second try came with a catch, Polaris directly controlled it and without so much as a pause, she hurled it at Sunshine and Chain.
If they didn't move, they'd feel the wrath of a Sentinel missile with the extra sting of electro-magnetism. If they did move, well, Polaris would just shift the missile blast-contained ball to wherever they went, like a cross hair. Following either scenario, Polaris would release her right fist and thus the explosion would occur.
And in the event Jean Grey got involved, well, Lorna would watch that Sentinel coming in from the right...
Sentinel #3 - Jean's best friend - propelled itself towards the redhead, eyes flickering before firing laser blasts.
Ka-Zaaaaap~!
Ka-Zaaaaap~!
Ka-Zaaaaap~!More blasts would come in the form of it's palms, making it four sources of laser fire. Polaris had to wonder as she watched, what the beloved avatar would do, and how her pitiful squadron would aid her. Not that it mattered, their organization seemed impulsive and her electro-magnetic shield was growing faster, larger, and all the more influential in the natural phenomenon of things.
The Southern Belle's gloves were coming off, obviously she intended to participate. No matter, Rogue would find so long as an ounce of electro-magnetism coursed through Lorna's veins, her absorption powers would be neutralized. But maybe Rogue did not know that, and if so, well, the fun was in seeing her face slapped with shame and surprise.
Oh yes,
that would be fun.
Daddy, as Rogue said, raised no fool. After all, Polaris had one hand left (pun intended) to do with as she pleased, and what did she do? Easy, she collected assorted metals from the debris to fix
Sentinel #2's hatches, reinforcing them with electro-magnetic pressure, to make sure bullets would have a harder time making an impact.
If Sage wanted to play with guns, she could. But damned would Polaris be if she'd be outdone by some hotshot shooting, let alone by a member of the X-Men.
This finished, Polaris's electro-magnetic spherical shielding would take over, allowing her left hand to resume free motion, ready and willing to act any and every where it needed to, the maintaining of the necessary repairs and patch working via mental stimulation from Lorna; Lorna's hands were merely for aesthetic show now, or habitual motions.
Meanwhile,
Sentinel #1 continued assaulting the White House, but was going to be momentarily stopped by the advancing U.S. Army. Lovely, the American military decided to show up, but they wouldn't do much to that hunk of junk, and if they did... Polaris would take care of it.
Elsewhere,
Sentinel #4 finished it's data, which meant automatically sharing it with the other three. Having done this, it's rockets ignited, and it launched itself towards the Library of Congress to finish the job
Sentinel #3's missile had originally been intended to do.
Supporting them if and when needed, was Lorna. God how her powers came in handy, something that could have benefited the other members of the Brotherhood.
And to think, Polaris wasn't even getting started, nor was that cliche of controlling the iron in their bodies crossing her mind. Oh no, daddy's little girl had far more in mind, like techniques that would maim and torture, even bring the wishful thinking of death upon these X-Men.
Of all the battles in the nation's capital, this would probably be the largest, grandest, and most costly in terms of pride and power. Not to mention architecture and blood, but those were secondary to the Mistress of Magnetism.
Today the X-Men would either win, but at the cost of many, or they would lose at the cost of more. Either way, this battle would eventually become something of an elite league, forcing those not tough enough to step down.
It was good to be a living Goddess.
"
If you believe the Sentinels to be bad, you really do not want to push me.," she snapped, giving them a foreboded warning of her yet-to-be-released potential. "
If you play hero, you'll die like one too."[/font][/ul]
