Duncan nodded as he led her the Shelby Cobra and he it the button to undo the alarm. He unlocked the doors and held the passanger side open for her. Then he slid into the driver's seat and looked at her. "I know a nice little place with some good wine and better food. Oh and this is Shelby, my baby." He patted the dashboard and winked at Selene. "You know about my very first excursion into the world of adulthood, care to share yours?" The question was asked with a teasing tone to his voice not really expecting her to but just making conversation. He was wondering how long it was going to take before she hit him.

Judging by his automobile, it was clear that this man also possessed class and perhaps an expendable income. Not that money was all that mattered to her, but no body wants a scrub. She slid into the passenger side and buckled herself in smiling until his next question caught her off guard. He really wanted to know about her first time having intercourse? It was ages ago, literally...it was very vague in her memory. She'd just have to make something up on the spot....
"Well, if you must know..." she didn't really know why he wanted to, but meh. "It was...my sophmore year in college...you know I had been dating this guy since freshman year and the time was right and it just happened. Yes, that's it. I broke up with him the next week. He didn't know how to quite please me well..." she said looking out the window. Smooth Selene, real smooth.

Duncan looked over at her as he pulled out and started laughing. "One, you didn't have to tell me, and two you are really bad at lying." He chuckled as he pulled into the street and headed to Vinnie's. Italian sounded good and she said she wasn't picky. "I have telescopic and pinpoint vision. I can see up to 50 miles on ground and 100 miles from a vantage point. I also have enhanced agility. Again you don't have to tell me but if you are just going to make something up... Just tell me it's none of my business. Then I won't start snickering you won't get pissed and we can enjoy Vinnie's awesome pasta or pizza."
He pulled in and looked over at her. "If I really gave to shits what a person could and couldn't do, I sure the hell wouldn't be staying in a place where the person who ran it could do whatever the hell she wanted to me and make me enjoy it." Just to because he could he kissed her cheek and slid out and then headed over to her side and opened the door for her, extending his hand to help her out. "I've been honest with you, I'd rather you tell me it's none of my business." He held out his arm for her once more.

"Interesting...impressive mutations..." she said with her hands placed in her lap, looking out the window and watching the buildings as they passed. Once he pulled over, Selene turned to him, giving him her full attention as he spoke. The kiss was very unexpected. The warmth of his lips pressed against her skin, she raised a hand, touching the very spot he pulled away from. His lecturing her about being honest. Well, to most people, has she been honest about herself, they'd run for the hills which is why she fabled her way through most conversations. If he really wanted to know the truth, so be it.
"There's so much I could yell you about my life, but I doubt I'd be able to tell you all of my history within your life expectancy. And the reason I lied about my first is because I don't remember who he was. My little black book is longer than the bible. I suppose that's what happens when you've been on this earth centuries before Christ himself was born." she said looking back into his eyes as she took his hand and slid out of the vehicle to stand by his side.
"And I've been able to retain my youth, thanks to my ability to feed off of another's life force. Unfortunately once I feed, their live is typically lost should I drain enough of their energy. That's just one of my powers, the power that drives my very existence. Should I choose to, I could very easily reduce you into a pile of ashes. Luckily, you've rubbed off on my good side." she stated taking his arm.

Duncan just shrugged a bit. "Didn't realize I was a mutant until recently. Just thought I was that damn good. Blow to the ego there." He winked at her and wondered what she was going to tell him or do this time. He couldn't quite pin her down and that both intrigued and bothered him. Usually, he could read women pretty well but this one was more difficult.
Had she not looked him directly in the eyes he might not have believed her. But Duncan was always one to believe that a person's eyes would tell you if they were lying and there were many things he saw in hers. The age for one, not wrinkles but the knowledge she held. He would have almost said worried that he might run but he seriously doubted a guy like him would make that kind of impression. "Not so hard was it?" He looked her right in the eyes when he said that too before the left corner of his mouth quirked into a half grin and he winked. Her reaction earlier to the kiss on the cheek hadn't escaped his notice either.
When she explained her power and arched a brow. "Yeah, now I really feel like I got shafted in the powers department. Just remind me not to piss you off and I'll be happy. But that will probably happen at some point, fair warning." He led her inside and slid into his, now normal, booth. "You can do the energy thing without the whole ash thing right? If so, you ever need that boost and I'm around just let me know. I'll give you a little juice when you need it." He looked up at the waiter and took the menu. He ordered a bottle of red wine in the hopes she wouldn't mind.

"No, it wasn't, but I mean its not typical for a man to stick around after I tell them I'm an energy vampire. Then they run, I get upset and I end up draining their life anyway..." she spoke casually with a shrugged as he escorted her into the restaurant. It was a nice little Italian restaurant. One she would typically pass by because well, she always dined at more upscale establishments.
She slid into the booth across from him and sat up in her usual composed position. His offer took her off guard. An eye brow raised at his suggestion? Using him as her own little energy bank? Huh. "I can...but the only time I ever leave a person alive after draining them is for them to do my bidding. And I'd rather you not put up such a sacrifice for my sake." she said grabbing a menu and scanning over it. "Plenty of expendable lives. People may call me a monster, but I like to call it population control...."

Duncan listened and wondered if there was any kind of vulnerability behind the don't care attitude. He slid his finger down the length of her nose then kissed the tip of it. "Vampires are sexy." That was his only comment to that. He wondered if she'd even like this place since she looked as if she'd be fairly high maintenanced and acted very proper. Not normally his type that was what would have made him run the most, but she seemed to crave company a bit. Odd as that sounded.
"Ah well damn that shot that idea down. Just tell me you go after the bad guys and sneak into prisons to find the rapists and the baby killers. Even if you have to lie, I'll pretend to believe you since you can't lie. Don't really want to think about you going after the innocent when I spent fourteen years of my life protecting them." He poured the wine and handed her a glass. "Hope you don't mind, it's the best since he gets it from his family's vinyard in Italy. Quite literally the house wine."

"..." A moment that definitely needed to be photographed. The black queen going cross eyed to stare at the tip of her nose as he pulled back from the kiss. If any other man had done that, he would have been reduced to ashes or she would have sent shadow tendrils through him like razor wire. Though coming from Duncan she found it rather, adorable. Of course she didn't say that and her expression remained somewhat serious and uncaring. "Quite." was all she said to his comment on vampires.
After his concern about her victims, she merely looked at him. "It's none of your business." She didn't have a specific group of people targeted for her prey. Some were criminal, some were good civilians. Neither really mattered to her, energy was energy in the end. She reached to grab the glass of wine he had poured her and took a sip. Her lips puckered a bit at the taste. "Not bad." she said, but she found it to be a fine quality.
"But if you'd like, I'll gladly go after the rapists, killers and child molesters specifically for you."

A soft chuckle escaped when she went cross eyed watching him. The woman really wasn't used to people treating her as if she were just another person. For whatever reasons they might have, be it fear or wanting. He doubted she'd ever had a normal converastion over just about whatever and with how long she'd been alive one would figured she'd have a lot of ideas and opinions. He gave a softer half smile at her 'quite'.
"Fair enough especially since I can't talk about the majority of my time in the military." He glanced up at her from looking at his menu and guaged to see if she was pissed or just stating fact. He sipped his wine and watched her reaction. Well some people had a more discerning taste he happened to like it. One eyebrow went up at her comment and he just figured she was teasing him. "Make the world a whole lot better of a place." He doubted she meant that she would do it for him and took it as teasing. He gave her a wink before looking back at the menu.

"Hm, indeed," she replied taking another sip and resuming.
"Trust me, the world will never become a better place...considering how long I've been in it, I've seen the countless times humanity has tried to shape it to suit their wants only to fail because the entire populous of the planet will never bend and agree on the same thing. There will always be pain, suffering, disease, violence, murder, chaos. Funny how humans are always the ones to point fingers at someone else but never once question themselves as the cause of the discord that plague this planet. There will never be peace. All one can do is try to make the best of their life before it expires."

Duncan sat back and sipped his wine as she spoke. He nodded a bit understanding where she's coming from. Lord only knows he's lived through enough to realize things would never change. "Always have a little hope or you might as dust me now. Can't keep looking back into the past even if its as bleak as the future. But you are right all we can do is live our lives until we die. What matters though is what we do with your lives in that time period. Do you contribute to making the world a bleak and terrifying place, or do you contribute to trying to bring about another Golden Age?" He looked up when the waiter came back and then glanced at Selene. "Are you ready to order?"

"Heavens no, I rather not look at the past. Mine is far too...well, it's just extensive as I have mentioned. I don't particularly care to look towards the future because it is uncertain. I choose to focus on the present." she said and began skimming through the menu again. "I suppose I will have some Lasagna...It's been awhile since I've enjoyed that." she said placing the menu back on the plate. "What are you having?"

Duncan took a sip of his wine and his eyes never left her. Once a person got past the vampiric goth look she wasn’t as scary as some would think. Well her powers scared the piss out of him, but the woman herself wasn’t really all that scary. He nodded when she said she lived in the present. ”No sense in trying to figure what will happen since the most common excuse is ‘It happened so fast’, right?” He gave her a slow wink and then looked over the menu. ”I think I’m going to go for the shrimp Afredo. If you like shrimp and are a good girl I’ll let you try some.” He grinned to let her know he was just teasing her about being a good girl.

"Oh, Goody." she replied rather dryly to his good girl comment and to his wink. It actually caused her to have a genuine smile on her face rather than the usual sarcastic smirk or the devious grins she was used to giving off. She still couldn't really wrap her head around how she ended up here in this restaurant with this man. Such a lovely young man at that now that she really took a good look at him. He was definitely quite different from men she had relations with before.
"I do have quite the taste for seafood, however. And yes, I do enjoy shrimp. Besides, I thought men enjoyed bad girls. Uh, how do they say it...a lady on the streets but a freak in the sheets." she smirked and took another sip of her wine.

One blue eye winked at her when she smiled. ”You should do that more often.” The words were said softly and he smiled back at her in reaction. She really was quite attractive when she wasn’t doing the whole Morticia Addams thing. Not that Morticia wasn’t hot but even she knew how to relax and smile from time to time. He sipped his drink and watched her curiously. Alright so he could understand why people backed off from her from the get go if one went off the creep factor she seemed want to give off. However, he was raised better than that [his mama would kill him] and he hated being judged. Now he was glad he stuck around although he will never, ever admit that to Alex.
Duncan grinned. ”Then I’ll let you try some of mine if you want.” He shook his head softly at her comment. ”Depends on how freaky she is. Don’t get me wrong I liked playing on all surfaces and positions but whips and cuffs aren’t my thing.” He smirked as he sipped his drink.
