Mimic was standing in the middle of training room in a specialized portion of the room. Given his abilities Mimic's powerset changed from time to time and he had to make up for lost time. Unlike other mutants who spent an entire lifetime learning and adapting to one ability and honing their skills with it to perfection. Calvin on the other hand usually only had a short amount of time to learn how to successfully wield a mutant power and be confident that he could use them all successfully without any glitches. Hence why he spent so much time training.
Mimic finished programming the computer for the Training Room and stepped towards the center of the room. He rolled his neck and shoulders and felt the satisfying crack as tension was released. He steadied his breathing and prepared himself for what would come next.
Lights extended from the ceiling and began pouring artificial sunlight into the room. Calvin's body began to devour the solar energy and prepare it to be rechanneled as soon as he would call the energy forth again. From the far wall panels opened and a cadre of robotic soldiers filed out. The robots where designed to look like miniturized versions of the Sentinels they had faced off against in Washington. Mimic supposed it was to help them subconsciously build up their angst towards the deadly machines. As they filed into the room Mimic waited for the right moment to strike. Before he knew it twenty some odd enemies had appeared. Several of them raised their hands and he could hear them powering up their weaponry.
The beams of energy slashed through the air but they failed to reach their target as the blonde haired mutant disappeared in a burst of super speed that allowed him to move at incredible speeds courtesy of Northstar. For the hundreth time Mimic thanked himself for retaining the young Canadian's power. As he flew around the group in a wide arc Mimic raised his hands and unleashed a blast of solar energy that tore across the room and burned down two of the mini-sentinels.
His mechanized opponents had advanced sensors and rotated to fire at his new location but he was already moving again. Several the of the sentinels took to the air to get better angles on him. The closest ones on the ground extend cables towards him as they tore across the space between them. Mimic blasted another opponent down but suddenly their where too many cables for him to continue moving around the group. Instead he dashed inward and above the group.
He returned to normal speed as flesh and blood transformed into organic steel as the newest of his abilities came to life. Strength flooded through his body as a feeling of invincibility washed over him. He dropped to the ground and punched downward, his metallic fist shattering another of the robots. His fist continued downward and struck the ground with enough force to shatter tile and created a shockwave that threw the ones closest to him off balance. Mimic spun and backhanded another and smashed the next sentinel away as it bashed over several more.
Rays of energy struck his hide as he continued to battle against the lifeless warriors.
