Emily was reclined on two legs of one of the dining hall chairs her hands behind her head and her eyes closed. Before her was her lap top open was a google page to Alexander Linton-Davis, she couldn't find much, no marriage records, no immigration records nothing. The newly mutated young woman had deduced two things about her father so far, he wasn't in the New York immigration system and he wasn't married which made finding her mother that much harder.
Sighing Solaris snapped her fingers and they glowed a bit, she snapped them again and they went back to normal. She was getting hungry, but she'd already exorcized for the nigh and she had a strict policy of not eating after her nightly work out. Man, she needed some one to talk to so she didn't find her way into the kitchen.

The girl was hungry, and it was late enough that the staff should be out of the kitchen right now. Dressed in flannel pj bottoms and a t-shirt, barefoot of course, the little butterball made her way down the hallway. Quietly she tipped toed into the dining room. Her goal was the kitchen so she didn't think to look around. She had just stuck her head into the kitchen to see if it was occupied when she heard the snap of fingers. Thinking she was busted, the girl jumped and spun around. "I wasn't doing anything, honest!" Yup, that was quite convincing since she looked guilty as hell.

Emily jumped when the frightened voice called out. She didn't realize she started to glow in her sudden fear. "Woah, Woah, don't worry I'm not a teacher- at least I don't remember being one." She said calming down enough to stop the slight glow. "Sunny? Is that you?" Solaris asked her heart now slowing to a normal pace. "What're you doing up so late?" More importantly, Emily thought, can you make me something to eat.

"Oh! Hey, Emily. Um... Got hungry and was gonna raid the kitchen. You want to join me? Not sure what I want to make so, if you have any ideas....." The girl gave the blond a bright smile, even if she really wasn't feeling as happy as she usually did. No need to let anyone else know, she's been depressed lately. They'd either freak or say they knew she was lying this entire time. So she kept up the act, just because it wouldn't cause worry for the others.

"Scrambled eggs with salsa!" Emily spat out before she could stop her self, what she should have said was. 'No, no, I don't need to eat after my evening workout' but the scrambled eggs remark came out before she could filter it through her health conscious censor.
Emily closed her lap top and turned around to face Penny. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to blurt that out, what are you feeling?"

The girl grinned when the other one blurted out what she wanted to eat. Penny bobbed in a curtsy and giggled, as she made her way to the kitchen. ”Wanna sit in here with me?” She asked over her shoulder and then bounded full into the kitchen. She started gathering the stuff need to make the scrambled eggs and salsa. Of course she was going to make the salsa from scratch. Very rarely would you catch Penny using anything out of a box can, unless she absolutely had to. ”No worries. Um... I don't really know what I'm feeling. Are you sure that scrambled eggs and salsa are all you want?” Brown eyes peeked over her shoulder. ”I can make a full blown omelet or even a skillet breakfast.” Curls bobbed as she nodded her head to confirm what she said was true.

Emily twisted her lips in a curl, oh man she really could go for a full blown breakfast, but if any of the instructors caught her facilitating a student using the facilities after hours it probably wouldn't go down well. And what with her work our routine she really shouldn't. "The eggs are fine." She said hopping up onto the counter.
Propping her head on her knee Emily looked over at Penny. "So have have you been lately, I feel like I haven't seen any one in forever." Which was probably true what with her searching for a way home.

Penny watched her for a minute with narrowed eyes. "You do realize that my eggs and salsa aren't like everyone else's right? I tend to make full blown meals, so I apologize now." She flashed her a grin and got to work. The girl looked hungrier than she was letting on, and Penny was probably going to overstep here pretty soon. But then that was Penny, always making sure people are taken care of.
"I've been doing alright. I really haven't seen anyone but Kurt lately. At least not around the school. But then I've been busy in my free time, so yeah, haven't been around much. How have you been?" She started to whip up a southwestern omelet.

Emily nodded as Penny spoke. "I always enjoy your cooking, I've never met any one who has your gift." The girl then listened as Penny spoke about talking to kurt and being busy. "Being busy can be good some times, as long as your not loosing your self in your work." Of course that was hypocritical advice on Solaris' part, she was the worst at doing that. Like right now, when she was trying to find a mother that didn't seem to exist.

The girl blushed at the compliment. "Well thank you. You know if you ever want me to make you something, you just have to ask." She nodded her head and set the southwestern omelet with toast, and juice on the table in front of Emily. "There you go." She grabbed her own and then sat down across from her. "Except for school and my projects, I don't have anything else. So getting lost in it, just doesn't seem like such a bad thing." She shrugged, she had no boyfriend and very few people who actually talked to her. So, she didn't see an issue with getting lost in her work.

Solaris hoped down off the counter and walked towards the table, sliding the chair out and sitting down. "If you ever just want to hang out, let me know." She said taking a bite of the omelet. That salsa was amazing! If any one could could in this house it was certainly Penny. The kid had a gift.
"I mean, I'm always up for a communal run or workout." The blonde girl smiled, her big blue eyes creasing at the corners in a big smile at the idea of getting to burn calories and blast away stress. Maybe she was addicted to endorphins, but she didn't care she was going to run a marathon and a half.

Brown eyes blinked at the girl across from her. "Do you mean that? Like really?" Penny was a bit afraid to get her hopes up. Much like with boys she hadn't been having much luck making friends. Not really. Sure there were girls that she knew but not really anyone that she hung out with. She had to be careful not to get clingy, she just let Emily set the tone so she knew where she stood.
When she started working about working out, the hope faltered. Well that kind of nipped that one in the bud. The only working out Penny did was during training. "Oh, I'm.. um.. not much for working out. But thank you for the offer." She nodded and smiled before taking another bite. Well darn.

"We don't have to work out." Emily said taking another bite. "I mean, That's about all I do, but I need to get out and see the city." the girl stretched. She really needed to get into New York and hit a few of her mother's old hang outs. She needed to see if any one knew her, or knew of a way to get her home. And why not make the most of living in this time, the past had it's little charms- even if her lap top here was so much slower and didn't have as much storage as her lap top at home.

Penny looked up at her and took another bite of her food. She chewed and swallowed before speaking. "Well, I have this food cart that I take around and sell stuff out of. Maybe you could come with me sometime. I mean, I get around the city, so you'd be able to check things out. Also, I like watching movies." Here she was, a hero in training of a sort, and she doesn't like to exercise. How bad was that? She was beginning to wonder if she was a failure. Hell she was one of the first to go down in that battle against Polaris. Though to be fair she was also the first one to land a hit. Not that it did much good and she lost her rolling pin to boot.
