The main room of the infirmary wasn't equipped to deal certain situations. Namely those that require hospitalization and are of the life and death nature. So a special room was attached to the infirmary for those kinds of cases. Which was a good thing since one of those cases had gotten brought in.
Kelly Wilson, codename Chain, did not have a high chance of survival. Between the extensive physical trauma done in the battle the girl had pushed herself to the brink and beyond by way of her power. Her physical injuries were as such: Shattered radius bone in her left forearm, deep brusing along her left side, four cracked ribs, two on each side, the rest bruised, a twisted and strained knee, right, to the point of nearly blowing it out, unconcious with a concussion. Face scraped and bruised along the lefts side and that eye swollen completely shut.
The list of injuries caused by her over extention of her powers is as such: One collapsed lung, on the right, internal hemorrhaging caused by a small burn in her small intestine, and the slowing of her heart rate and brainwaves to nearly stopped.
Emergency surgery was done and the chance of recovery is iffy at best. All that can be done now is wait to see if the girl comes back to them or if they'd lost her regardless of all that was done. The girl now resides in the recovery section of the infirmery.

Bobby’s group had apparently been better off than the ones that went up against Polaris. When he found out the outcome of the other teams, Bobby’s mind really only raced to one person. Without the second thought of getting himself checked, the young man selfishly stormed into the recover area. Where was she? His frosted heart nearly stopped as he looked at the hospital bed as he saw Kelly there. Oh god….
He felt defeated as his form slumped into an ice seat that materialized beneath. “Oh jeeze,” he sighed as his translucent eyes trained on her. You made me care… don’t you dare fucking leave me too….

Pain. The tiny blond was feeling a lot of pain, but oddly enough she didn't really care. Funny how pain meds work innit? You feel it, you just don't care, and sometimes you think it's funny. She didn't think it was funny, the blond just didn't give a fast flying monkey flip. At least she wasn't face first in the dirt. Was she? Oh god... she died! Oh... even yelling in her head made it hurt. She was dead, but if she were dead then why was she feeling pain? "Please don't let me have died without telling Bobby how I feel. And why am I in hell? Was I that bad?
Kelly felt a bit chilly and that was fine by her, apparently she gets fevers that try to melt her insides when she over extends her powers. No wait... that was because of the type of power she held. She thought anyway, she could be wrong. Oh god she was messed up in the head right now. Carefully her head turned toward the cool air and only one eye opened. It didn't focus very well but it was easy to tell who the person was. "Bobby.....?" The left side of her lips were cracked and swollen and her eye was swollen shut. The one boy in this entire school she wanted to make her own, and she's in a hospital gown, looking like a train wreck and no make up. This sucked. God she loved pain killers.

Bobby Drake’s eyes had never left Kelly since he’d walked in. Oh god. She was going to die… she was going to die and he’d never really know what all of this was. She was going to die and Bobby would be left with that empty feeling he’d grown so used to. As his frosted gaze stayed on her, he felt that pang of guilt for thinking simply of himself. He was that bad, wasn’t he? He let out a low sigh as he held back that urge to touch her. Like always, he had to hold back.
Another heavy sigh left his mouth before he heard his name come from the beaten lips of Kelly. His pulse quickened and his expression couldn’t help but lighten up his translucent features with a wide smile. He remained grounded in reality though; he reabsorbed the chair and approached the side of the bed. “Hey…”

Kelly watched as he got up and came over to her. She tried to smile but it didn't quite work out so well. When he got to her side, she reached out her good hand and took his. She'd never been so happy to see someone in her life. Dull blue eyes, glazed with pain, flared with a bright light when he came to her. "Hey, Gorgeous." The words came out hoarse and she licked her dry lips and winced. She hurt bad even with the drugs, but just seeing him made her feel better. God she was falling in love with him, but was she loopy enough on drugs to tell him that? That stubborn nature of hers might save her from making a total fool of herself.
"Here you are.... and me without.... my make up..." Kelly wasn't sure she wanted him to see her like this. But she was so very glad he was here. That much was evident by the near death grip she had on his hand. Almost as if she were afraid he was going to leave her. "Don't... don't go..." She coughed a bit and winced as the pain around her ribs flared. At least that's where she believed the pain was stemming from. She couldn't feel her left arm, that was good, right?

Bobby smiled as he inspected her for what must have been the millionth time since he’d come into the infirmary. She still looked worse for wear and Bobby was still terrified that she might still slip away. His eyes stayed on her; watching. He needed to stay sure that she was alright. His hand met hers when she reached out to him.
He didn’t like seeing her like this… this vulnerable, this fragile. Kelly was also so sure seeming and to see her injured and on this bed was a lot. He wouldn’t have left. His brow shot up in concern as she started coughing. He shook his head. “I’m not going anywhere. Promise.”

As cold as his hand was she wasn't going to let him go. Bobby would literally have to pry her hand away from him, which wouldn't really be that hard right now. He was going to stay and that made her feel better. Yeah she was trying to get to him, but he really got to her in a big way. She attempted another smile when he said he wasn't going anywhere. "Good... Need you..." Kelly wasn't meaning as in she needed his help, somewhere along the way she realized how very much she cared about him. She needed him on a deeper level.
Kelly looked as best she could for that thingy, the one that made the bed sit up. Since she refused to let go of his hand, she struggled to try to sit up. Pain laced through her and her breathing became labored. But as anyone knows the girl is stubborn, and sounding very like a sick five year old. "Up...." Had her face not looked like she got run over by a mack truck, she'd have been adorable.

Bobby’s hand stayed in hers as he watched for any sign that she might be getting too cold. He could barely take this; watching her like she was made of glass while he could repair himself without so much as a second thought. For some reason, though, when he heard that she needed him his own pulse raced for a moment and his smile (which was one of those grins that were specifically reserved for keeping a brave face) widened just a bit. “Well, I’m staying put then,” he confirmed with a nod and a brief wink. He cared about her and it was one of those realizations that infuriated him just a bit yet it kept him beside Kelly’s bed. He needed her too. She’d broken Bobby just a bit out of that frozen shell and here he was next to her bed giving a shit.
His face etched with concern as he watched her struggle for something. It was like she was possibly trying to sit up and yet he wasn’t entirely sure if that was what she wanted. His lips creased into a frown as he watched her. “Hey, take it easy,” he said softly as he spotted the remote and a slight, yet worried, grin hit his frosted lips. He turned the knob on the remote so she was sitting up a bit and set the remote on her lap as an ice chair materialized beneath him so he could sit.

Hazy blue eyes watched him and even through the pain and the medicine she could tell what was going on with him. Sort of, she'd been getting better at reading him the more time they spent together. She hated putting him through this and she hated him seeing her like this. But more than anything she hated being so selfish and asking him to stay. She felt clingy but she was hurt and she was scared. Kelly knew the doctors weren't sure she'd make it and that scared the hell out of her. She had too much to do and telling Bobby she loved him was one of the things she needed to do, but he wasn't ready yet. Not until he had control of his ability to shift in and out of his ice form at will. When he said he was staying put, she nearly started crying. Well she did, as in the tears slipped out of the corner of her eyes. "I'm sorry.... Selfish... but..." She swallowed a bit. "I'm glad you're here."
Bobby was going to have to keep an eye on her, since she doesn't give a shit if she's cold or not right now. "Thank you." She let go of his hand long enough to adjust the bed so she was sitting up, wincing as she did so. As soon as she was where she wanted to be she grabbed his hand again. A small grin tugged her lips as she looked at him. "If I asked you to kiss me, would you?" Anytime they'd ever kissed it was always her that instigated it, just now she can't maneuver that way at the moment. The one thing she was thankful for was they weren't in a regular hospital, which meant they won't make Bobby leave. Not that she expected him to stay all night, although she'd feel better knowing he was there. "I really like you." At least it wasn't some major revelation and she caught herself before saying the real L word.

Bobby saw the tear slip from the corner of Kelly’s eyes and couldn’t help but feel an odd pang of guilt. He probably could have protected her. He could have possibly kept her safe from whomever it was that did all of this to her. It was maddening to see her like this and it brought her into the throws not only of self loathing, but also with that protective sense that made it very clear to Robert L. Drake that there was no way in hell he was going to leave the side of the bed. As if the ice chair hadn’t been obvious that he was staying put. “It’s not selfish,” he said quietly as he briefly squeezed her hand.
Bobby blinked at her question. He shouldn’t. But with her hand in his, he felt like he could do just anything. He was invincible even if it was just because Kelly’s hand (frail as it was for the moment) was in his. He leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on her lips in response while his own lips remained in a brave smile. He pulled away as he released her hand, afraid she might have held onto it for too long. “I… I really like you too,” he said; actually finding himself saying it aloud for the first time since they’d met. It was about damn time really that he say it not only to someone else but himself.

God she hated this! She couldn't think, she couldn't really focus, the drugs were messing with her head and she didn't like it. Kelly couldn't take her eyes off of him though. It was like she was dreaming and if she looked away, she'd wake up and he'd be gone. She knew on some level she was getting to him, but honestly she hadn't expected him to show up. Part of her expected him to use this time to run from her, even though she knew he wouldn't. It was that part of her that wasn't surprised to see him there, and it was all of her that was happy he was there. "Yeah... it is... But I don't.. don't care." God she was a pathetic little superhero wasn't she?
The tiny blond kissed him back as best as she could. The coolness of his lips felt good against her swollen lips. Another tear slid out of the corner of her eye as she tried to snuggle with him. It wasn't going to happen but she tried anyway. When he let go of her hand she nearly whined, but instead she just whimpered a bit, even though she knew why. Well she would have had she not been so out of it. Oh God... he just.. he just said.... Kelly found herself praying that it wasn't the drugs messing with her head as she looked up at him. "I.. plan on having this conversation again... Only in.. in deeper detail." A smile split her lips, literally, but she didn't care. He liked her, as in really liked her, life was good.

If there was a way Bobby could make her better, he would have done it the moment he’d walked into the Med Bay. Looking at her so beaten up made him want to find Magneto and give him what the man deserved. All the while, Bobby had been on the fence about how he’d felt in regards to his former professor. The years that had gone by under Mr. Lensherr’s guidance had actually earned respect from the young man. Now, though, now that he had seen just what he was doing to his own former students for trying to protect innocent people… Well, it infuriated him. Looking down at Kelly and seeing her lip split when she smiled seemed heartbreaking to him. Kelly was a good person and Magneto had no problem sending thugs to do this to someone who just wanted to help those that couldn’t help themselves.
He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. His eyes shut for a moment as his hand lifted to her chin and his thumb traced along her lips in hopes of alleviating the sting of what had happened. “That’s fine,” he said. He was going to have to stick to his guns this time around. There was no way around it as he looked at her. He couldn’t take back what he’d said despite the fact that he had seriously tried to make her think that he was some sort of jackass. It hadn’t worked and Bobby Drake wouldn’t have had it any other way. “I’m so sorry Kelly…”

God he was gorgeous. He was one of the few guys that Kelly actually thought were out of her league. The girl didn't think that often, but sometimes it did happen. Maybe it was the drugs or maybe it was the pain, but she didn't think so. He was gorgeous, smart, funny, and everything a girl could want. Unfortunately, it was also covered by his 'don't give a shit' attitude. A girl would have to be damn stubborn to see and work past that, Kelly was that damn stubborn. Her eyes never left his as she smiled at him. He was perfect and he liked her.
When the traced her lip she sighed softly. "Oh... that feels nice...." The relief it gave her caused her eyes to close. She still couldn't figure out why he had such a problem with his ice form, but then Kelly was a bit of a weirdo. Blue eyes fluttered open and she grinned again, followed by a wince. "You aren't just saying that.... to make me feel better...... are you?" She really doubted it was fine if they were going to talk about how they felt about each other, and she hoped she remembered it later. It would suck to be this close only to have forgotten it when the meds wore off. Her brow furrowed and she looked up at him. "Why.... why are you.... sorry?" He hadn't done anything wrong.

If Bobby ever found out that Kelly thought she were out of his league, he would finally know for a fact that she was absolutely out of her mind. He was never anything anyone wanted and he had worked hard to make goddamn sure of it. This all had been some sort of fluke where Bobby’s usual game of “I will terrorize you til you cry” didn’t seem to work. He didn’t mind it though. He actually liked having someone like him after going through the Bobby Drake patented Gauntlet of Doom.
He smiled as he drew his thumb from her lip; clueless to the idea that she still didn’t get the issue with his ice form. He kept his eyes on hers and almost winced with her when she smiled. “Nah. I usually bust out some A-material jokes, maybe juggle, sometimes a ventriloquist act if it’s a good crowd if I’m looking to cheer someone up. Promise.” He added a wink at the end as he leaned forward to kiss her forehead before sitting back down next to the bed.
His expression changed, however, when she asked why he was sorry. “I should have been there. I could have kept you safe… or something… I don’t know.” His shoulders shrugged as he exhaled a cold breath.

God she really thought she was falling for him. Like seriously. Before hand when she saw him, it as all giggling girl feelings. Now when he was around it was one of those breathtaking moments. One of those moments when you couldn't explain why, even if you tried. Most would probably think she was stupid or whatever, but she couldn't help it. She was in a firm belief that everyone had someone out there for them, and when you met them, then you'd know. She'd never reacted like this to any other guy, so she knew. He made her feel this way because he was the one for her. Was it a forever kind of thing? She didn't know and it didn't matter, it was definitely a right now kind of thing and that's all she would hope for.
The girl kind of wished he'd put his thumb back, it felt nice, but she wasn't going to ask him. "Well, now you can add just being here to that list. Since it's cheering me up immensely." She felt bad that he winced, but she couldn't help the next grin when he winked and kissed her forehead. She wondered if he was even aware he did it, or what it would look like to someone if they were looking in. She wasn't going to point it out, just in case it spooked him.
"Baby, it wasn't your fault. We weren't even teamed up together. It was my own fault, I pushed too hard." Oh she liked the drugs, it was making it easier to talk, yet oddly enough she wasn't completely loopy yet. But then again she didn't realize she just called him 'baby' either.
