++Application for Enrollment++
The Person
Name: Mark Hamilton
Age: 26
Place of Birth: Cascade, Colorado
Applying too: Genosha
In what capacity: Member of the Brotherhood
Family: Unknown Mother, Unknown Father, Elizabeth Hamilton (Foster Mother, Deceased), Richard Hamilton (Foster Father, Deceased)
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 620lbs
Appearance:
Skills:
Mark possess a keen talent for hand-to-hand combat, however he tends to lack any real experience in fighting foes that are capable of giving him a real challenge, and as such hasn’t really progressed much further than learning the basics. He isn’t exactly academically gifted, his school grades were average at best, but at times he has shown a surprising grasp of scientific concepts that illustrates an untapped potential in that field.
Personality:
Mark is practically the poster boy for the world arrogance. The very concept of not being the most powerful being in the room never seems to enter his head, even when surrounded with the likes of Exodus or Magneto. It is this very baseline nature that often brings him into conflict with his fellow members of the brotherhood, with Mark constantly needing to prove his superiority. Unfortunately it’s this very drive that makes it extremely easy to manipulate Mark.
While his actions rarely seem honourable, especially considering his views towards the rest of humanity or indeed mutant kind, Mark is nothing if not a man of his word and will not willingly break it once it has been given.
Of course in the rare cases he is shown up this sense of honour quickly evaporates, and Mark will quickly lash out and try to reassert him and display a temper the likes of few could ever match. People, objects, it doesn’t matter what he damages in his quest to prove himself superior, all that matters is that the world knows who the strongest mutant really is. Hyperion.

The Mutant
Codename: Hyperion
Mutant Abilities:
Superhumanly Dense Tissue - Hyperion’s body possess immensely superhumanly dense skin, bone, and muscle tissue that, in addition to causing him to weight significantly more than your average human, gives him a wide range of benefits. These benefits include;
- Superhuman Strength: Hyperion is fully capable of lifting up to and around approximately one hundred metric tons at his peak capacity.
- Superhuman Speed: While by no means falling into the same category as speedsters such as Quicksilver or Blur, Mark can run at speeds that exceed the speed of sound.
- Superhuman Agility & Reflexes: Mark’s agility, balance, reflexes and bodily coordination are enhanced to degrees that surpass that of the peak of human potential.
- Superhuman Durability: Mark’s body is far tougher and more resistant to physical injury thanks to his supremely dense body tissue, allowing him to withstand high calibre machine gun shells, falls from tremendous heights, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, powerful energy beams and great impact forces such as being repeatedly struck by other individuals possessing superhuman strength. He is also able to physically withstand the rigors of space without any special clothing.
- Superhuman Stamina: To cope with the effects of his enhanced physiology, Hyperion’s body naturally produces fatigue toxins at a much reduced level than an average human. This allows him to exert himself at his peak capacity for roughly a day before eventually succumbing to the effects of exhaustion. Mark can also hold his breath for several hours, again allowing him to survive in space without any type of special equipment.
Regenerative Factor - While Mark’s body is incredibly durable, it is still possible for him to suffer damage should the attack or effect be powerful enough to overcome his natural defence. Thankfully like the rest of his physiology Mark’s natural healing factor is significantly augmented, allowing him to repair damaged bodily tissues at a drastically increased rate, returning mark to full health in half the time it would normally take a human. This enhanced healing factor also survives to render Mark practically immune to most diseases and poisons, as well as retarding his aging process to a functional crawl.
Flight - Mark also possess the ability to levitate himself and fly through the air at incredible speeds, allowing him to achieve escape velocity when flat out.
Weaknesses:
While Mark is indeed exceptionally tough, he is by no means completely immune to damage. High-end Energy attacks, or indeed the pure brute strength of likewise endowed individuals, can still hurt or even kill him. Weapons created from Adamantium are also capable of inflicting wounds and bringing Hyperion down.
While his mutation enhances his physical prowess to extreme highs, his mind unfortunately didn’t receive likewise enhancements. This means that he is as vulnerable to telepathic assaults as any other mutant or human, making his mind one of his true weaknesses.
Constant need to prove himself often creates situations where it is surprisingly easy for even unpowered individuals to manipulate Mark into a specific path of action.
History:
With a loving, yet alarmingly absent family, Mark Hamilton had something of a troubled yet highly unremarkable childhood. Constantly bullied for his lack of any real physical prowess, falling behind in school for his apparent dearth of any real academic potential, his life was far from what one would describe perfect.
That all changed when his powers started to kick in. Suddenly Mark was stronger, tougher, and faster than any of his former tormentors, a fact that he got an inordinate amount of enjoyment reminding them of. Within days he’d carved a brutal reputation that spread like wildfire, causing the ordinary folk of Cascade to go to great lengths just to avoid even the mere mention of the troubled teen. Not that Mark minded, he was finally the strong one. He was finally in control of his life. He didn’t know where these powers came from, only that they were his and his alone. Taking the name Hyperion after a Titan in Greek mythology, the word meaning “high one”, he set off to seek more and more challenges to prove his worth.
Of course with his abilities he quickly found that few could keep up with him, not even the likewise empowered individuals he encountered along the way. Another fact that only served to fuel his growing arrogance, until it finally reached the point where Mark can see no equal from either Human or Mutant. Yet he still felt the need to prove his power, to get people to recognise his true potential. He needed something more; he needed to be worshipped, something that no matter how many times he demonstrated his power always seemed to elude his grasp.
He’s recently joined Magneto’s Brotherhood, having decided to work towards the man’s vision of a unified mutant haven such as Genosha before taking it right out from beneath him. Despite this hidden agenda Magneto seems to be one of the few people that Hyperion seems to respect (and in some cases envy), especially when it comes to his ability to win the hearts of the people.
