It these times of turmoil, there was very peace to be found. With Apocalypse's armies growing stronger day after day, there was hardly any time to have peace. There were some days that Jean Grey didn't even sleep. Her mind constantly churning ideas on how to put an end to En Sabah Nur and to restore the world back to the way it was. Not only that, but the risen aggression of the human race towards mutant kind over the years wasn't that great either.
At this moment, the red head telepath found herself sitting on a bench in the park over looking one of the lakes in Central park wondering what the next course of action should be against this new threat against the world. Odd because the reason she even came to the park was to just relax and get her mind off of the troubles of the world.

"Heya Red." announced the mutant Logan from behind, from experience he generally assumed Jean knew when people were around, but he was Wolverine, his brain was a bit harder to crack, to detect, Emma had seen to that, besides, Jeanie looked a bit distracted, may not have been letting out those little scans. So he thought it best to announce his presence.
Logan had first met Jean when Hellion and X-men missions had seen them in the same place at the same time, while there was a certain rivalry between the two schools, most people were mature enough to look at as just a bit of healthy competition, not that personalities hadn't flared into aggression when things were serious and conflicting styles of getting a job done caused clashes.
Logan had changed a lot since he met Jean, going from a reluctant man with issues to do with his past, to the twenty six year old, confident, cigar smoking, bike riding, beer drinking, sentinel destroying Hellion wildman. Even today, he had gotten to the park by bike, he was pretty fond of it. "How you doing?" he asked, helping himself to a seat on the bench. That Scott Summers might have been a punk scout boy, but Jean was good in his books.

"Huh? Logan..." Jean looked at the man taking a seat next to her on the park bench. She hadn't even sensed his arrival...a sign that she was stressing out a bit too much over the current events. Her mind was scattered, so much so that her guard had been completely down at the moment. At least it was a friendly face and not some mutant hating aggressor. Lord knows she'd dealt enough with those.
"I'm alright I suppose." she responded back to the Hellion as she looked back to the lake once again. "Just thinking....wait. What are you doing here in New York anyway?" she asked. After all...the only time they ever saw each other was when the two teams bumped into each other. She knew for a fact that he and Scott weren't that fond of each other, but she thought Logan to be a nice guy...the bad boy factor that was totally missing from Scott.

"I tend to wander off, get out of the academy alot. he informed, stretching his legs out now, slipping one foot over the other, flexing his arms across the back rail of the so was nice and comfortable, head tilted back so he could see the sky from under his hat. "Don't get me wrong, its a swell place, I just need to feel the wind on my face." partially a reference to his enjoyment of being outdoors in generally, and partially a reference to the motor bike he had reached New York on.
"You hear about the little X-men versus Hellion dance we be havin? That boy scout of yours might be getting his hands dirty." he smirked, that would be an interesting afternoon.

"I can understand that. It's always good to be home but sometimes you have to have a break from there as well. Which is why I'm here in the park. I don't really need to hop across a few states for a break." she smiled. As she crossed her legs and turned to the side to face him. He made mention of some contest between the X-men and the Hellions that was supposed to go on. She didn't like it. Scott called it a little friendly competition but Jean would have to call bullshit. This was just an excuse for he and Logan to get at each others throats since there was bitter blood between the two.
"I don't see why you guys have to fight in the first place. It was cute when we were younger, but we're adults now. Not to mention that there's an evil Egyptian warlord trying to gain control of the world. We should be spending an afternoon together piecing together a way to collaborate and how to take him out. Not fighting." she sighed. "And also, I'd prefer if his hands stay cleaned. I don't like being held by dirty ones."

"Oh come on Jean, its just a little wrestling match, a days spar. It'll be a bit of fun, at the end of the day we'll all have a laugh, you can kiss Scott's boo boo better, hey maybe we'll even go out for Pizza and Punch afterwards." There was a touch of sarcasm in that last part, but otherwise Logan was pretty genuine about it. It was just a little spar, wasn't like he was planning to pull out his claws and cut open the Boy Scout...nor did Laura as far as he knew.
"Besides, your fancy danger room is still just a hologram machine, programs get predictable, you got put yourself in real competition once in a while, its the only way you'll ever really get good. Trust me on that one." Agents of Apocalypse zero, Wolverine three hundred and ninety six. Match and Game.

"Just a wrestling match or just an excuse to go at each other's throats? Because I'm sensing the latter." It was no secret that the two leaders of opposing schools had some beef and this competition was their way of trying to grill it. Honestly, Jean was afraid for Scott to even fight Logan. She didn't want to call Logan an animal because she didn't seem as that. But one couldn't deny his feral traits and form of fighting. Scott was good on the battle field, but could he really stand up against someone like Wolverine? Not only fighting style, but that healing factor just automatically gave Logan a victory.
"I've been in real 'competition' and I think it's safe to say that I am really good." Most psionics were either gifted with telepathy or just telekinesis. Jean Grey was one of a kind having been gifted with both, though every now and then, it was more of a curse than anything, specifically when she couldn't control of whatever it was that continued to make her go berserk under pressure and stress. "And you do not have to fight if you want to go out for Pizza and punch. In fact that sounds like a much better plan. Let's all go out for Pizza and we can put the competition behind us, hm?"

"Ah come on now Red, you know me and Scotty are like the best o'pals, its just a little play fight to blow off some steam." he replied, with just a twinge to his voice to suggest it was a little bit of a joke. "I'm sure you have been in real competition, I ain't sayin you haven't been, but that don't mean you can't just play with your simulations until the real thing comes dropping on your door again. Got to keep yourself sharp." They didn't all have his healing factor.
When she suggested that they all just go out for pizza and punch, he just gave her a smile that said "It was worth a try dollface." A hand rose to his face for a moment to rub over his slightly in need of a shave chin. "See now, I just don't see that happening. Nope....not at all."

"Thank you for your advice Logan, but trust me, we're sharp when it comes to the battle field. No question about that." she said folding her arms. Now she was starting to get a bit riled up. She already sensed that Logan had decided the outcome of the match with the Hellions winning. Pfft, yeah right. He shouldn't underestimate Scott or the other X-men and what the Professor had taught them.
"Well, I guess I see myself taking a leave now. Since you're so bent on trying to beat up my team, I don't see any reason why I should continue this conversation." she said getting up from her seat and looking out towards the lake again. "And I was starting to think that there was more to you than just brawling and those claws. Maybe I was wrong."
