Kelly sat at a cafe, as she took a break from wedding plans. Basically she was doing nothing more than comparing prices at the moment. She and Bobby hadn't set a date yet, but she wanted a heads up on things. That way she'd have a rough idea of what she wanted and it would cut down on the wedding stress. A small smile touched her lips as she looked down at the ring on her finger. Part of her still couldn't believe he'd asked her. Saying she was on cloud nine was an understatement to be sure.
Blue eyes sparkled as she looked up and ordered her coffee and her lunch. As she waited she flipped through catalogs and wedding planning, help books. The brides daddy would pay for the wedding, but she sure the hell wasn't going to bankrupt her dad for it. There was still the possibility of sneaking off to Vegas or the Justice of the Peace. That had merit. She'd have to talk to Bobby about that. Kelly went back to flipping through the catalogs and taking notes.

With the news of Apocalypse gaining more and more territory, especially here in the United States, Jean was starting to worry. She hadn''t had an episode with her powers lately, so that was good, but her nightmares had started to return. There was just this eerie feeling prodding her and she could feel that something bad was on the horizon, aside from the obvious that the big A was slowly conquering the planet. She decided to calm her nerves with a little bit of shopping. May have been stereotypical woman behavior, but it needed to be done considering what happens whenever the redhead got too stressed.
Her purse slung over her shoulders and carrying a few shopping bags, Jean decided to take a lunch break. She entered a cafe and smiled noticing a familiar head of blonde already sitting at a table. Jean approached the other young mutant from behind deciding to peek over her shoulder. Green eyes widened at her reading materials. Wedding catalogs and magazines. Then the red head noticed the ring. That gorgeous ring. Didn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. A small peek inside Kelly's mind was the official confirmation. Jean could sense just how happy Kelly was, and felt how much she really did love Bobby. The red head couldn't help but tear up herself, sniffling softly behind the blonde.
"I never imagined Bobby Drake the type to even consider taking a wife..." she said. Jean was just being honest. She'd known Bobby since the day he arrived at the mansion. Before Kelly even came to the mansion and Bobby had always been the clown of the team, but reclusive because of his power issues of the past. It really did warm her heart to know that he had found someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and she couldn't think of a better young woman suited for him than the future Mrs. Kelly Drake.

The blond sipped her coffee and every so often she'd glance at the ring on her finger, and smile would touch her lips. She went back to taking notes, when she felt someone behind her. Her body tensed slightly as she didn't know who it was, when she heard her friend's voice she smiled. "Been together for five years. I figured we would hit common law before the subject ever came up. We never actually talked about. Have a seat, hon." She nudged the chair across from her out with her foot. It was odd that Jeanie sniffled over this, but she figured she could understand. Bobby wasn't the easiest person to get through to, but he was worth it.
Her head tilted as she looked and Jeanie and she giggled. "He didn't technically propose, in the traditional sense. He just sort of asked me if I didn't have any plans for the rest of my life, and then held up the ring. I think he was shocked I said yes." She grinned hand held her hand out so Jean can really see it. "He actually wondered if I would want to take it back. He wasn't sure I would like it. Can you imagine?" She loved the ring, very much. Another grin touched her lips and she got a kind of sappy look on her face.

"5 years is quite awhile. I know it was the next logical step, but still." She walked over to the seat across from Kelly and sat her bags down as she took her seat. "Typical Bobby." she shook her head at the Iceman version of a proposal. It was still romantic though. The only way a proposal wouldn't be was if he smeared it on the wall with a piece of dog crap or something. The red head leaned in closer to inspect and awe at the engagement ring. "Men have mind relapses like that I suppose. You'd have to be crazy to ever want to return a ring like this. It's completely gorgeous. That blue..." she sighed with a love sick look in her eyes. She wasn't the one getting married, but she was just as happy for Kelly as she would have been for herself. The first two X-men to get married, it was completely and totally a happy occasion.
"I'm guessing with all the wedding catalogs and such, the wedding plans are in development. No running off to Vegas. I won't allow it." she smiled, but Jean was serious. These were two of her best friends getting married after all. Her X-men family. They deserved a wondrous ceremony to share with their other loved ones. "Think of any potential maid of honors, yet?"

The blond just shrugged and grinned. "I was never going to push for it. I was happy just being his girlfriend. That being said, I'm not going to argue." She'd be stupid to argue, but she'd have been more than happy to be Shannon to Bobby's Gene. Kelly hadn't been to sure how the other girls were going to react. Honestly, Jean and Scott had been together longer than her and Bobby, and then there were the girls that had crushes on him. It was going to be interesting to see if she got hate mail, or die by facebook.
"I think he was concerned since it wasn't a traditional diamond. But that's why I love it so much. I thought we were both going to start crying when it all fully sunk in. I knew I almost did." Her grin widened and then she looked up as the waiter put her food down. "Order something, Jeanie. My treat." Her parents had been ecstatic when she told them, they adored Bobby and practically considered him a son in law before he ever got control of his powers.
A brow went up at the comment about not allowing them to elope. "I'm telling you right now if things get crazy, like really really crazy, we're eloping. As it stands, right now I'm just doing comparison shopping and things like that. We have set a date, so I'm just getting the preliminary done. Choosing colors, seeing what caterers have the better food. Finding the better prices so I don't bankrupt my dad. That kind of thing. As for Maid of Honor I figured that would be you. But I guess I can ask Penny if you aren't interested." A brow arched as she sipped her coffee, and watched Jean's reaction.

"I can understand you on that one." she nodded. That was the way she felt about Scott. She loved him and was happy just being his girl. Now did Jean ever want a proposal out of him? Well, while she would like to get married some day, marriage wasn't the thing that ultimately defined how much you loved someone. It was just a title in her opinion. She wouldn't mind taking on the mantle of being Mrs. Jean Grey-Summers, but if it never came to that, it wouldn't change her feelings about him at all.
"Bobby get's extra kudos for that ring though. Diamonds are a girl's best friend, but we don't discriminate against other jewels. Aquamarines are gorgeous. It reminds me of Bobby iced up when I look at it actually. It's the perfect choice and suits him. It'd almost be like Scott proposing to me with a Ruby." she chuckled. " If you want a diamond, wedding rings have yet to be purchased, but personally, I like the Aquamarine. " The red head turned to the waiter who had arrived with Kelly's food and the blond offered her a free meal. Something she wouldn't really refuse, but she would definitely repay Kelly back later. She placed her order and returned to Kelly just after the server left. Jean understood more of the eloping if something hectic happened, which unfortunately seemed more likely with the rising threat, so she would forgive the newly engaged couple if their choice came to that under such circumstances. A smirk touched her lips again as Kelly offered Jean the title of Maid of honor. Yep, those times of playing wedding as a little girl before (before the events that triggered her mutation) were finally becoming reality. She was starting to feel a bit giddy thinking about it.
"Well, as Maid of Honor it is my duties to help you and give feed back dealing with those decisions. Call me crazy, but right off the back, I'm already thinking that light and subtle aqua would be one of the colors to go for to match the ring."

Kelly smiled over at Jean, yeah of all of them, Jeanie would understand what she meant. "Oh, should I tell I suggest that to him? You know a ruby ring to match his powers and visor?" She chuckled a bit and sipped her coffee. The blond didn't touch her food as she planned to wait for Jean's food to show up instead.
"I think that's why I love it so much. Because it does remind me of him. You know? I mean, it kind of really has meaning." The fingers of her other hand traced over the ring and soft smile touched her lips. She remembered the first day they met, how she caught him watching her stretch and dance. She'd fallen in love with him then, it just took him a while to realize he loved her too.
A laugh escaped her lips as she looked over at Jean. "So we are color coding the wedding to the ring? Hey feel free to help out, we can do tastings and things to that effect. Pick out decent bridesmaid dresses. You know? Though my dress will still be prettiest." She winked over at her friend and looked up as Jean's food was delivered as well. "So, where do you want to start?"

"That's your decision. Like I said, I'm not asking for a ring, but if he asked me, I wouldn't turn him down. He really does mean everything to me." she sighed running through moments of the past. That first day she arrived at the institute and when she laid eyes on him. Love at first sight? As cheesy as it may sound, it just may have been that, even though it took him two years to finally ask her out. She'd been falling for him ever since. She didn't think she could fall for him anymore. She truly and really did love Scott.
"It really is suiting, I'm telling you. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it really does represent him very well. And yes, I think we should match the wedding with the ring. It's a simple choice and the color is beautiful." Jean nodded to the waiter as her food was delivered and gave him a thank you before turning back to Kelly. "You're the bride, of course your dress has to be the best, but please, don't try to make the bride maids dresses hideous." she chuckled.
"On the matters of where we should start, I believe we should start thinking about where exactly, besides worst case scenario Vegas, the wedding should be held. I know that I would love to have mine of a beach. That's where Scott and I had our first date."

"You know, I don't think I will. I mean, if it gets pointed out to him, then he'll think he has too. Not only that, but then he'll probably think he screwed up somewhere and feel bad. At least if I'm reading him right, I could be wrong." Kelly could be wrong, but Scott seemed like the type that would probably get a little upset if he thought he was supposed to do something and didn't do it.
"I don't know if it was intentional or not. But it was kind of cute when he panicked a bit, not sure if I liked it. It really is beautiful, and I agree, the color scheme would be really nice. Almost like a winter wedding kind of feel, but not." She nodded and took a bite of her food since Jean now had hers. "Oh please, the bridesmaids dresses are going to be a pale, kind of ice blue. I think. The boys will be in black because, honestly, that's the only really good look for a tux. But the cumberbunds will be the same color as the dresses. As for mine, pure white I think." She sipped her drink as she looked through one of the catalogs.
Kelly blinked up at her surprised. "I just figured we'd have it at the mansion. It's big enough and the only people outside of the school that are going to be invited are my mom and dad and most likely Rogue. Even though she left, she's still his best friend. As much as I am upset with her for hurting him like that, he still cares about her. So, of course she'll be invited."
