Although Davis didn't like to think that any mutant had a useless power, he did wonder how the ability to speak to animals could help in defeating someone as powerful as Apocalypse. Claire said that she could talk to the animals, but she said nothing about controlling them. Animals usually ran away when they sensed doom and destruction so going against their instinct when a random girl asked them too seemed a little out there. Davis let out a sigh as his mind went from Claire to all the Hellions he could think of. He was trying to figure out just what powers they had and who would be useful in a situation like this. One thing for sure was that he wasn't about to volunteer Heather.
Yea she was a big girl now, always had been, but she was still his little sister. One person in specific came to mind when she said brawn."One of the teachers at the Academy would come in handy. They call him Primarch. Power wise, the bloke's a straight powerhouse. There's also Scion. He's a powerful telekinetic, pretty smart when he's not being an arse." Those two were pretty much the only people he could think of. Of course there was Jubilee who could explode atoms... but she too he cared much about. "That good enough for the mighty princess?"

Claire looks at them both. Knowing that her ability wasn't of much use in the battle against Apocalypse. She wondered what she could do. She had her martial arts training, but she also wondered what would Scott and Jean say if she decided to help. "I would like to help. I do have martial arts training. But its my team. I don't want to betray them." She looked at Lorna, the woman determined to end this little war with Apocalypse. She did wonder what her true purpose was though. What would she gain out of all of this? Claire petted the owl as it stayed perched on her shoulder.

," replied the snide one. " What good are their powers if I know nothing of intelligence? A professor can be a fool, they are human. What is his motive for fighting? In fact, what motives you?" Not a bad question really, since why someone did something played more to who they were than anything. Maybe these two could still surprise Lorna. " Betrayal?" Polaris scoffed. How pathetic, but admirable... in a pity sort of way. " Surely you jest. If betrayal is what concerns you, you're already too late. Allowing Apocalypse to get to where he was - to do nothing - is betrayal towards your fellow man... those mongering bigots you swear to protect in the name of equality. For allowing petty differences - your reasons for being X-Men or Hellion - separate you. In other words, why did you allow that maniac easy access? He walked right through you all, while you bickered and worried about your pretty nails and little gossip... and then broke humanity's last remnant of trust in mutants... you took away any justification for allowing us to exist by allowing Apocalypse to." Utter silence, and the grim stare of a scorned vixen. If anything was clear, Polaris was irked... and thirsting for blood.[/ul]

Davis truly did not care about this woman's approval. He shrugged at her questions with a slight smile. "What motivates me is pretty white bread. I want to see this place free from Apocalypse, to stop all the nonsense." That was a good enough reason for him. The simpliest thing could motivate a man to do incredible things. Davis didn't need some tragic reason to help out his enemy. And really, he didn't consider the green haired woman to be his enemy. Anyone willing to risk their lives to stop a a great evil was alright in his book.
"I wasn't here for the past five years, though that still isn't an excuse. It was a selfish decision, but, what's done is done. If you really want me help you have it. I'm tired of sitting on me arse." And tired of this conversation to be honest. He didn't worry about betrayal. The Hellions could either shape up and put aside their quarrels with the X-Men, or shut the hell up and let the real heroes save their world.

Claire hung her head. She was not allowed to particpate in the battles. At the time she was still a teacher. She was just becoming part of the X-men team. She looked around sighing,"I am going to help you out, if I can." She stated, she frankly didn't see how her powers would let her help in a battle against Apocalypse. She brushed her hair back looking at the owl. She knew the time had come to show how strong she was.

" Davis wanted to do something, but he was overlooking something very important. The female was at least showing a desire to help, but not exactly jumping ahead of herself. " What do you even know about Apocalypse? Surely you won't be gracing the battlefield with a frontal assault, hoping for the best." If that was the case, Lorna would kill herself right now. " Before you dedicate yourself to anything, a name. What is yours?," she asked Claire, curious. She'd encountered the X-Men before, but must have missed this one. Though to Lorna, if she was significant, then they'd have been heard of or mentioned. None of that happened, but exceptions did exist. " You will call me Polaris, nothing else is acceptable."[/ul]

And that was pretty much... yea. Davis could be impatient at times. Guess that was something that never completely changed about him. He'd grown up a lot more than a few choice others, but he still had some things to work on. "Hell no. Of course we have to make plans and find out the big guy's weaknesses. No matter how powerful, everyone has their flaws. But since I ain't dealt with the beast so far, I've got nothing on him." That was that. He'd been gone the whole time Apocalypse had taken over pieces of Earth. None of the other Hellions seemed to know a damn thing about the man either so they were no use to him in that regard.

Claire looks at them, she hadn't heard much from the X-men. She hadn't been put on any missions, since her power was not of use in the battlefield. "You can call me Blue Angel." She told Polaris, just recently getting her code name, not wanting this woman to know her real name. She only told Davis because she trusted him. Looking at Polaris she sighed,"I have not heard much of him. I have not really partaken in any missions. I just recently became part of the team."

" Dear God, that seemed to be an out of the blue (pun intended) name. " Who named you such a thing? You don't look to be able to fly, and... your pigmentation is far from blue." Surely there was a reason, there had to be. " As for you, Slipstream.," Polaris quipped, quickly returning her focus and sight to the Australian. He seemed to be the kind that needed constant focus, which Lorna did not mind honestly. But eventually everyone needed to be independent. " If you genuinely want to do something, then you will have to trust me enough to deliver what I ask. This includes information, battle plans, identities, and powers. If you hold anything back, we will fail. That said, I want names and powers of as many Hellions as you can muster to remember."[/ul]

Good thing none of the Hellions had secret identities or giving her the information she wanted would present a few complications. Davis still didn't want to involve his sister in all of this, but he knew that would rather be out helping than sitting back and letting her sibling take on all the responsibility. He sighed after taking in a breath. "As I mentioned earlier, the bloke Primarch. He has super... everything so you could put him to use. Real name is Alexander Linton-Davis. James Howlett also known as Wolverine has an incredible healing factor that can bring him back from death."
Davis went on with listing the Hellions that he could remember and what would possibly make them valuable assets. He surprised himself a little bit with how easily he was giving up this information. But desperate times these were...

Claire looked at Polaris, unclenching her fists, I chose the name thank you. It's a nickname my father gave me." She looked at the green haired woman, not daring to say another word knowing that this woman could bring her down. Looking at Davis as he named people to help in the cause. She wondered why he left the Hellions. Looking back at the woman, looking at her, not knowing what to do."I'll help in any way that I can."

" Davis was either very eager to do something, or he wanted to avoid riling Lorna up. Whichever it was, Polaris could only smirk. " Commendable, but unwise. You never give another person something merely because they ask it, no matter how well they speak or wondrous their situation. Always exchange information, or take something for your own to level the playing field." Blue Angel, was it? Odd name, but Lorna could deal with it. She'd heard worse, but at least this one had some kind of purpose. " How about we put your words to a test?," she asked, eyes scanning over the other woman. She was a bit strange looking, but pretty in an enigmatic sort of way. Almost like a doll, she could say. " In fact, how about both of you? We'll see how dedicated you can be."[/ul]

"Part of the job." Orders were orders and he'd listen to them for the time being. "Look I couldn't care less about the whole gaining thing. I ain't doing this for me self." Davis let out a sigh as continued speaking, turning her attention to Claire. He honestly did not feel like jumping through a bunch of hoops for this chick. It was like something straight out of one of his comic books or one of those action spy movies. It was annoying as hell. "I truly don't feel like jumping through hoops with you. Either take me word that I will do what's needed or not. I don't care either way, love." With that, Davis walked over to the bench, retrieved his board, and then began to walk away. He'd have more luck doing things on his own. None of this crap to deal with.

Claire looked at the woman, knowing that her dedication layed with the X-men,"I'm sorry Polaris, I will help bring down Apocalypse, but my duties still lie with the X-men."She stated walking to the bench to pick up her bag. She would not betray those she considered family. She had a duty to them and she would protect them as well. Looking at Davis, she wondered what he was going to do. She smiled at him hoping to make him happy.

Stare.Stare.Stare.That's all Lorna could do! If it wasn't for the fact Slipstream was necessary in her plans - and Claire had to be tolerated due to this - he'd have been ignored, like all the other klutzes. Nobody, absolutely nobody talked so smugly to the Mistress of Magnetism... but he had an edge over her. She knew that, and dealt accordingly... though playing nice wasn't part of the deal. " Look here, you nefariously ignorant behemoth!," she shot out to Davis Cameron's back, pausing just for a moment to give him time to cease. " As much as I need you - yes, need, you heard it directly from my lips - there will be none of this sass! If you so as to DARE reject what I'm attempting to teach you again... I will not be held responsible for what happens to this park - and those in it." Now then, Blue Angel... " Do as you will. As it stands, I cannot do anything with you. But at least attempt to do this: go back to your X-Men, sit around and talk about the 'we-could''s, 'we-should''s, and 'we-will''s, but be sure to listen to the screams of those you could have, should have, and will, that drown out the reasoning such a sniveling coward like Xavier do nothing to prepare! All he does is send countless lives to their deaths, to shield him from his lack of conscience." Already Lorna's fists were at her side, clenching tightly, and the electro-magnetic aura fizzing from the building emotion deep within. If pushed enough, Polaris would strike. " You either learn to play the game, or get used in that game. Otherwise, you're expendable." Ka-Shroosk~!!!The park bench's metal framing imploded, almost immediately into what appeared to be metallic straws in size and density. This was not a good sign...[/ul]
