Maya much rather the bar scene in New York, but she did like this pub. It was privately owned and didn't have that loud club scene. The bar stools were actually stools and not some form of art. Maya took a seat on one of those stools and quickly ordered a beer from the bartender. Her father always told her Tequila was better than draft beer, but then again he never had to worry about money. Plus it was way to early for those spirits.
"Anything else Maya?" he asked her with a bright smile, hoping for a better tip. Or he might have liked her dark blue strapless mini dress. It was very cute.
"I'm good Marc. Thanks" she replied in her sweet voice. Maya took a sip from the beer glass and took a quick glance around the filled bar.

If there was a bar that served liquor, it was Madrox's scene. He'd been to so many bars/pubs/taverns/salloons/ect that it was essentially worhtless for him to differentiate at times. And so, Jamie didn't. He just knew spots. Places like this though, he liked. It wasn't too busy, wasn't too much to focus on at once. It was just him, his booze, and the occassional beautiful bout of company. That or he would just be his own drinking buddy. As sad as it sounded, it was a good time, regardless.
So James Arthur Madrox sat in his usual seat at his usual table in one of the corners where he could just kind of observe them while he poured over his Criminology textbook. He would probably be there all night. One part studying, another part cruising the bar and socializing; maybe, at least. For all he knew he could be there with that book all night or with one of the three others he’d brought with him. This may not have seemed like the coolest thing to do, but Jamie wanted not only beer, but that accomplished feeling that he had done something and not one of his clones doing it for him. It was a somewhat twisted mentality (or at least he would have thought so five years ago).
He finally pulled his green gaze from his books and scanned around the room. Jeeze! The joint filled up, he thought to himself in regards to how much he hadn’t been paying attention. He glanced at his beer and realized it was empty and frown. He glanced about, making sure no one was paying attention and stomped his foot under the table and a copy crawled out from underneath, heading to the bar to get him another round.

There were all sorts of people in this bar tonight. College frat guys that paired well with your cougar types; then the older 'wiser' men that tried to hit on women like the group of young students. Maya had been the subject of one of these social experiments. The slightly balding 40 year old quickly scampered away when Maya shot him a look that suggested she wasn't above kicking his ass for grabbing hers. Maya chuckled at the thought of it again.
It was only 8 o'clock, but it seemed like this was the place to get the best value for your buck. Her personal space had been invaded by a group of college men to the right and serious football fan to her left. Maya took a quick swig from her glass and rolled her eyes as she saw one Mr. College guy wink her her.
Just then she caught sight of someone that she actually want to see. It was Jamie Madrox, a fellow Hellion. She wondered what he was doing here, but then thought about it. Madrox was known to have a good time. Why wouldn't he want to be at a bar?
"Jamie!" she called out while raising her hand to grab his attention better. She guessed it was really loud in the bar, something she never had issues with. Maya could be in the noisiest place and not be bothered by it.

Jamie was certain that he probably wouldn’t run into anyone tonight. It just seemed like one of those nights where he would just chill at his table and eventually decide to socialize; maybe even talk up some lonely and/or easy dame so he could do more than just talk later. He smirked into his textbook at that thought. He had come in for his usual night but honestly, there was no real routine for it if he had a few dupes working the place.
While the multiple started to make his way back with the beer, Jamie heard a familiar and very welcome voice. His gaze lifted from his book to settle on Maya. His lips curved into a wide smile and he exaggerated a wave to tell her to come on over. Well, the night was definitely starting to shape up.
[bah. It’s short. Sorry]

Maya followed the dupe and found the real Jamie Madrox sitting at a table surrounded by a bunch of books. It looked like he was studying for something. Maya had been in college for the teaching program, it took her four years to get a degree. Maya walked over to the table and took as seat opposite of Jamie. The woman sipped her beer glass and looked at him.
"Hey there stranger. Its good to see you." she said with a broad smile. Maya wasn't sure why she hadn't seen Jamie around the mansion, but she figured they were just both busy with thing. She took a quick glance at the books on the table. "Criminology. Nice."

Jamie couldn’t help but grin when he saw Maya. It’d been far too long since he’d seen his friend. Well, that seemed like a theme in regards to the original lineup of Hellions. They left the first chance they got and it seemed like Jamie was the only one who really stuck around at times. Albeit he was off doing a million other things simultaneously but still. He thought he maintained at least some sense of loyalty to the team. But, that was the bitter side of James Arthur Madrox thinking. This was the same guy whose best friends and girlfriends just kind of decided to leave without so much as a word.
“Well if it ain’t Maya Lopez,” he squinted at her, “Or at least I think it is. You’re way hotter than the Maya I knew.” He grinned as he leaned forward to kiss her cheek as he shut his book and put it in the pile of texts that would certainly be neglected for the rest of the night. “Yep. Working on getting certified as a private investigator. How’ve you been? You know you are now obligated to fill me in on every asinine detail of your life since you’ve left right? Just letting you know. It’s that or I use my mad detective skills to figure it out, doll.” He winked to note he was kidding as took the beer the dupe brought him and the dupe returned to socializing; fishing for the lucky winner that would give Madrox a good roll in the hay.

Maya turned a bit red when Jamie complimented her and kissed her on the cheek. The woman missed all of her friends from back then, it was just now that she realized how good she had it. Even if she did enjoy her alone time, Maya was just realizing how important having others in her life were. It was nice to have backup. "Same Maya, more or less." she grinned.
"All of the details? Man, erm... well. I've got my degree in teaching and dance, focussing on ballet. Not sure if you heard, but I'm teaching that at the Academy, and at a studio, and in a bar. Not this one though" she laughed. Maya had picked up two part time jobs and the teaching position with Miss Frost. She liked to be busy. Plus she didn't have much of a social life to maintain.
"I would tell you more, but I want to see your detective skills at work. And what about you? I mean you look great too, what have you been up too?" she asked.
