Charles had called everyone together with the utmost urgency, he was quick to explain the situation. And it was a most severe one.
"Before I had opened the mansion, I discovered a growing number of mutants living together in the sewers, the morlocks as they called themselves, are people forced away from their homes because of their altered appearance. While I offered them a place here, they politely declined, they had their homes. I just received a telepathic distress call, the Morlocks are under attack, they need your help my X-men. Be careful, who ever is launching this attack is organised and well equipped. I shall be in contact with you from Cerebro to give you more information, but you must depart now!
Yes, Charles had given quite a mission, armed and dangerous individuals, individuals who were aware of both mutants, and the location of the morlocks. Magneto knew of their location, and after everyone had departed, was leading the way into the sewers. Very ready to take the fight.
As his boots splashed into the water, it was filthy, but what could one expect? It was the sewer system. The German Deputy Principal was leading the way, but even before they had reached half way through the sewers he heard the sound of feet splashing in water, his eyes looked to the distance, then they were in view, men and women, adorned in strange suits of green, rifles in hands.
"Those are most certainly not Morlocks!" he informed, using his magnetic powers to pull a set of metal grating from an opening, hurling it towards the group, watching with delight as several were not back.
Two looked towards their down comrades, before turning back to the X-men. "For each you know down, two shall take their place! HAIL HYDRA!" and sure enough, more opponents were springing into place. The battle had begun.

Megan frowned as she strapped her bicycle helmet onto her head. Going down into the sewers? This wasn't going to be fun, not at all. It would smell funny and stain everything... but they needed to save the lives of the morlocks!
Mutants with altered appearances... that certainly fit her. Bright pink hair and solid black eyes... plus huge, rainbow wings? She could have easily been a Morlock, had things turned out a little bit different.
She flew rapidly through the tunnels, choosing not to run through the muck. It was easier, anyway, and much faster.
"Hydra?" she echoed. She'd never heard of HYDRA... vut there was no time to think on that now. The battle had begun!
She flew over the first row of soldiers, unleashing a blast of Pixie dust on them. They'd be hallucinating, now. Megan wasn't exactly sure what they would be seeing, but it certainly wasn't the battle.
A shot, although it missed, made her meep and fly back towards the rest of the X-Men.

Rogue was less than thrilled about their mission into the sewers. Then again, who would be thrilled about walking through rank, dirty water filled with god knows what. Well, Rogue knew a couple of things that were in sewer water, but she preferred not to dwell on the subject.
Rogue was dressed in her green and white hooded outfit and trailed behind Magneto and Pixie looking for any signs of the Morlocks, or those attacking them. Hopefully the latter because attacking innocent mutants was something Rogue did not appreciate at all. Under her hood, her green eyes peered out, scanning the tunnels she traveled through.
...Well I guess we ain't gotta look for'em no mo'" Rogue sighed. Magneto had knocked a few of them back using his magnetism and Pixie dusted a few as well. Unfortunately she didn't have any powers available to her at the moment. All she had her her fists and feet and those would just have to do for now.
"I dunno who HYDRA is, but ya got alotta nerve comin down here and disturbin tha peace. Now ya gotta deal wit us." she said sucker punching and her knee connecting to the gut of one of the dusted men to knock him down and proceeding take down do the same with the others.

Cyclops walked through the muddy, rank and horrid smelling water that the sewer provided and was now a bit jealous he wasn't a flier. He'd have to thoroughly clean his costume afterwards...but quickly he had more to worry about as green suited people came out of the shadows...and they did not look friendly.
As Magneto used his metal powers to knock them down and Pixie used dust to make them hallucinate Cyclops placed his hand to the side of his visor and blasted at the HYDRA agents, being sure to hit the ones furthest away by Rogue. He made his way over to the leader and said "Mr. Leshnerr....could you try disarming them? we'll get killed very qucikly if they have their guns"

"Not a difficult feat." Magneto replied to Scott, one hand rising and with a gesture he had a magnetic grip in the attackers guns, another gesture slammed them into the ceiling, although two agents managed to hold on, it would do them no good, Magneto just sent them hurtling into the back down the sewer. There was a very audible "ding" as the guns collided with more metal in the distance.
"We must move quickly, every moment we stop to deal with these slugs the kill teams have time to attack the Morlocks." Magneto informed, a moment later every remaining agent of Hydra was pinned to the wall, metal belt buckles.
The Deputy Principal lead further into the sewer, every minute seemed to take an hour to pass, there was a horrible tension in the air. How long passed he wasn't sure, it was only a few minutes. What they found next, was not Hydra however. Magneto kneeled over two bodies, a pair of mutants, morlocks clearly. "Both dead, shot in the head." he informed the X-men, they didn't need to ask. "Now, we press on, anymore you find, neutralise them immediately." he informed.
It would not be long before they found more of the Hydra agents, Magneto lead the way into a very large room, larger then a floor of an average house, without question. They could see up above them, and down below, quite some distance, various steps and ladders leading up and down the sewer. Morlocks were fleeing for their lives, over a dozen within a stones throw of the X-men, too late to be saved. But Hydra were present in numbers now, gun shots ran through the air, and that cry "Hail Hydra!" was a tell tale of how many were present, many. "Now X-men, aid the morlocks!" Magneto informed, as he floated off the floor, reaching out with his magnetics to pull away the weapons of whatever agents he could find.

When Xavier relayed the message to them about the attack on the morlocks going on in the sewers, Ororo almost dropped to her knees in grief. She feared so much that something like this could one day happen, and it was going on right in her city. But it was not the time for grieving, no it was now time to take action to stop this massacre. Ororo was dressed and ready to go. The trip to the location thankfully wasn't a long one which meant that they had time to stop any further deaths. She and the others were now traveling in the sewers searching for signs of morlocks or their attackers, HYDRA.
Before long they stumbled upon a group of them and the X-Men were off to work. Ororo figured the quickest way to deal with these people is to take them out as a group. Hovering over the sewer water, she began summoning some powerful wind currents in front of her. The wind caused the water to twist and turn into something of miniature hurricanes that rushed towards the HYDRA soldiers washing them up and slamming them against the walls. She was careful to guide the water so that it only struck the opposition.
Ororo followed Magneto into a large room were several morlocks ran in fear from the soldiers. She placed a hand over her mouth as she watched the slaughter of the poor souls. This was almost too much for her to handle, but she had to. Ororo rose into the air, eyes sparking with electricity. These HYDRA soldiers were about to experience first hand why she was known as the Weather Goddess. "This has gone on long enough." With that said, Ororo's body became surrounded in electricity, bolts of lightning lashed out in all directions striking multiple soldiers on point. She didn't make the lightning strong enough to kill them, just enough to cause some major nerve damage and keep them neutralized.

Paige Elisabeth Guthrie was a part of the first X-Men team, alongside the likes of Bobby Drake (Iceman), Anna Marie (Rogue), Megan Gwynn (Pixie), and Scott Summers (Cyclops). The team who was expected to be superb leaders and fine role models, a group who, together or alone, were to embody the aspired dreams and hopes of Charles Francis Xavier. Good thing she was on the same page as the Professor, or else those ambitions may be delayed or never realized.
"A lil' late neva killed anybody... yet." she spoke, though mostly to herself in an attempt to explain her tardiness. It was not by much, and already it seemed the other, more powerful members of the team had handled the situation. Storm and Magneto alone could probably do all of this, but Paige was glad to tag along and aid, in any and every way she could. "Now, how to make it up?"
Sh-riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip~!!!
"This shou... again?!" she exclaimed, eyes looking down to spot her body's new husked form. Lovely, just like the last time, it was... "Wood! Gosh darn it! Well, no complainin' 'bout it now Husk ol' girl!"
Bang, bang, bang~!
Firearms, something Paige knew about having grown up in the Midwest. Of course to most, Kentucky was considered the South, something she happened to agree with. Nonetheless, these so-called agents were toting them, and more importantly using them.
"Let's do it!"
Rushing forward, Husk's right arm would change shape. Quickly becoming a wooden dual blade, the intention was to use it as some sort of weapon; better than punching someone with a wooden fist, or so she told herself. "Come an' get it!" she warned, giving indication to the rear end whopping she was hoping to inflict, as her bladed limb to catch a HYDRA soldier between the throat, pinning - but not impaling - him to the floor.
"Start talkin', or prayin'."
Husk could always get a new pair of clothes, but it was unlikely this fellow could get a new face. If he could, well, she'd endanger that one, too.

Bobby had been fidgety the moment the X-men had started on their trip to New York. The wonders of the city were secondary as they readied for… the sewers. The human ice cube hadn’t bothered to suppress a face that expressed the mutual sentiment of “ick” during the entire way. His translucent fingers drummed against his knees on the way there. Peering down into that manhole though… there was that slight inclination that made Bobby feel like he could be in his element… if it weren’t so decked out with poop.
Regardless, the X-man’s resident prankster still carried on. The whole time while trekking in the sewage line, he contemplated tossing a few snowballs. Unfortunately, the green suits had cut that thought short and a pillar of ice gave him a bit of height before taking to the soldiers by way of his ice slides. He had managed to disarm a few by freezing up their weapons. It seemed that the bossman took care of the rest. He took up the rear of the group on his ice slide, surfing along the ice at a slow pace.
It wasn’t until they came to the room that the situation really hit Bobby. As per usual, he was probably the last to grasp the severity. His jaw set and his icy brows furrowed while his eyes narrowed. He could feel the organic ice of his body trembling with every frigid muscle fiber. He rushed forward, skating at a bit of an elevation within the tunnel and dropping to weave in and out of the soldiers. With each dip and turn he tossed another spray of ice to cover the weapons of those closest to him. Pulling a quick U-turn, he wove back through those he had disarmed and shot a spray of ice at their faces to get it in their eyes.
Spotting a couple of younger Morlocks, Bobby sped towards the pair and scooped them up and skated quickly to try and find them a safe place while slinging ice at any pursuers.

Cyclops nodded to Magneto as he took his suggestion and disarmed the guards, the next trek through the sewers Scott didn't like...it was cold, damp and claustrophobic but they had to press on and save the mutants down here...and find out who the green jumpsuit guys are and why they were shouting about mythical sea beasts.
THe next set they found were persuing some Morlocks. When the order was given Scott stepped forward firing at the green suited enemies, aiming to disarm by hitting wrists, legs. He didn't like the way Magneto said neutralise and he was damn sure he wasn't going to kill anyone...despite the fact they were trying to kill them, it was what made them better then the HYDRA people.

Post by Adam Warlock on Jul 8, 2009 11:38:47 GMT
Adam was in his element, this was just like crawling through a dungeon looking for Orcs or Trogs. If only he had some sort of Battle Mage armour, but his X-men costume would suffice, when they walked past the first group, which were soundly beaten before Magneto pinned them to the walls by their belts, Adam jumped at each one, almost playfully, giving a swift "Judo Chop" to the general shoulder neck area, knocking them out. Lots of xp for him.
When they got into the main area, he was almost distracted by everything that was going on, magnetic energy and ice and lightning being blasted all over the place. So they had plenty of people dishing out the damage, time to work on defence.
The young Adam Warlock let his hands spin about for a moment as he pulled together some of his cosmic energies, looking to his teammates. "Cyclops, Rogue, Pixie, Husk I got you covered with my Protective Aura Spell" he informed, referring to his energies as magic had become such a running joke for the boy that even in a situation this dangerous he was doing it, just by habit. Either way, a golden aura appeared around his team-mates, it would protect them from bullets just hopefully their wasn't any massive explosions. Speaking of which. "Em....Storm....is all the lightning a good idea, I mean...we got a lot of water at our feet." Just a suggestion.

Post by Colossus on Jul 8, 2009 19:35:18 GMT
The complete slaughter of innnocent people was unfortunately not a new concept for Piotr. Russia was known to have civil war and sometimes various groups tried to cleanse other groups with wanton destruction. While he had never seen it firsthand stories of this massacres had managed to work their way to Piotr's home in Siberia.
He had been focused and controlled on the flight over but hadn't said anything to his fellow X-men. Instead he had spent his time attempting to ready himself for what they would encounter in the tunnels. Colossus was certain he wouldn't be ready but he had to make an effort.
When they landed Mr. Lensherr had taken most of the team in through one access but Colossus had been directed to take another route. With his powers and size Piotr would be able to work better alone in the tunnels if he came across any HYDRA soldiers. The sewere system smelled awful and was so thick through the air he could almost taste it in his mouth, not a desired encounter in a tunnel used to send refuse and waste away from civilized homes to a more suitable location.
Piotr had a flashlight and while he could hear the sounds of battle echo throughout the tunnels he had yet to find combat himself. As he rounded a corner he discovered a new smell. Burnt flesh. The light pierced the darkness to reveal a room filled with corpses that had been reduced to a crisp. Someone had apparently gathered a group of a dozen or so Morlocks into a room and set them ablaze with a flamethrower or something similiar. Their boddies where curled up as their last moments of pure agony. What made the scene worse was that some of the bodies where too small to be adults or even teenagers.
"Children.......these monsters burned children alive." he said with tears practically about to come pouring from his eyes. As he took a moment to steady his breathing Piotr's ears caught sounds echoing from outside the room and down the tunnel. He was almost certain that he even heard laughter from them as well.
Slowly he stood up and started walking down the tunnel towards the voices. As he did Piotr triggered his ability and Colossus appeared in the sewers of New York City. Rounding a corner Colossus saw a group of men and women, dressed in green and apparently rearming themselves before continuing their slaughter of innocent mutants. Colossus said nothing as he simply walked forward towards them without hesitation.
One HYDRA agent saw Colossus and shouted in alarm as they all turned and opened fire on. Bullets bounced off his organic steel and richoteted around the room as adrenaline surged and Colossus leapt forward into the group. He smashed through their ranks like a bull and simply tossed them aside like rag dolls. As angry as he was Piotr knew to keep his strength in check, he wanted to hurt these monsters, not kill them. He backhanded a woman down a side tunnel and heard her skid through the foul water before crumpling and coming to a stop. Another HYDRA agent shot him point blank in the back of the head. Colossus turned and crushed the gun in his hand before grabbing him by both arms and shattered both his arms. The fighting continued as Colossus began to bring justice to the sewers of New York City.

The girl nodded towards what was said then rushed off to go the sewers. This was her first mission with her being with them just a few months She was actually surprised she got to go on this. She only had one session of training on her belt. She walked slowly though watching watching out for anything, She actually pass for morllock due to her psychical appearance with her pointed cat tails and and long tail . The girl actually could seen pretty well in the dark and she stopped when she had heard of the sound people and she sniffed the air. she could smell gunpowder and death on these people and she let out a hiss and puts out her claws and and foot down at them knocking them to ground and sends both her claws at them in a crisis cross motion

The horrors that were unleashed this night would one day prove to be the catalyst of many things in many different people. In the case of Kitty Pryde it made this whole thing real. It wasn't the little training games that they had played in the Danger Room. This was life and death, right here in the sewers of New York City. The memories would haunt her, but it would also steel her resolve in the fight against injustice and hate. To witness such a blatant display of it, in person, was shocking and for the first few moments of the whole ordeal she could only stare horrified and wide eyed as the events unfolded. Magneto's voice snapped her out of this, however, and she began to move.
Darting through the tunnels keeping herself phased to prevent any sort of damage occurring to herself as she tried to run some sort of interference to distract HYDRA from harming anyone else. To give them an extra bit of want to harm her she would grab them and shove them down if she could as she darted by, making sure to keep a greater part of her body phased. As she past she came upon the Morlocks cowering in the sewers as she approached they flinched away from her. A fact that hurt her heart a little bit. Grabbing them she phased them immediately just as a member of HYDRA came after them. She then whispered furiously, "Hold onto me. They can't touch me and I can keep you safe, but you have to hold on to me."
Smiling as comforting as she can given the situation and began to walk steadily as the Morlocks clung around her. She didn't know where to go, only that she had to get them out. "Magneto!" she called, knowing she should probably call him by his codename and not his real name, "What should I do with them? Where should I take them?" There was an edge of terror in her otherwise determined voice. The brunette was going to save as many as she could, she just wasn't sure where she could take them.

"... Neutralize?" Megan echoed in a small voice. She didn't really like the way that Mr. Lehnsherr had said that. Incapacitate, sure. She could do that- Pixie Dust was perfect for that, after all- that first group of soldiers she dusted where probably seeing teddy bears and bubbles right about now.... but that was beside the point.
She flew over the HYDRA soldiers again, dousing them with some more Pixie Dust. They shouldn't stop hallucinating for several hours... that would be more then enough time, right?
She flew into the large room, following the rest of the X-Men. She froze in place upon seeing the dead bodies, a few tears running down her cheeks. This would give her nightmares for sure!
"Now X-men, aid the morlocks!"
"Yes, sir!" Pixie said, shaking her head and diving forwards. A golden aura suddenly surrounded her, and Pixie grinned- that was Adam's protective aura thingie! She'd be safe, now, from most bullets and stuff.
She dived over another group of soldiers, unleashing more Pixie dust on them. A cry made her pause- a little girl, no more then three, stood on the floor, crying and clenching a blanket. A soldier creeped up behind her, with a gun raised...
"No!!" Megan screamed, diving at the soldier. She had to stop him!!
She zoomed past the little girl, and she headbutted the man in his gut. Luckily, she was wearing her bicycle helmet so that didn't hurt her! But anyway, the soldier stumbled back, shooting at her before he fell backwards and hit his head on the wall, knocking himself out.
Adam's golden aura stopped the bullets and inch from her body and they fell to the ground with a slight clang.
Megan pushed herself of the ground and into the air again, flying forwards and picking up the girl. She wrapped her arms around Megan's neck, holding tight while she was still crying.
"It's okay." Megan said, flying up into the air and trying to sooth the girl. "It's going to be okay."
... At least, I hope, she added in her head, but she didn't dare speak those words out loud.

While the others had a fix on things with their powers, Rogue decided she would concentrate more on helping get survivors away from these HYDRA goons. She could only punch and kick their asses so much...or she could just go around giving them a friendly draining touch, but she would rather keep their minds out of her own. Especially if they were sick enough to come down here to hunt and murder mutants.
Thanks to Adam, Rogue fond herself surrounded in a golden aura of protection. She sighed at the fact that he called it a spell and she wanted to give him a nice good thwack in the head for saying it. The hooded southern belle made her way towards Megan who was comforting a little girl. A scene that really broke Rogue's heart. No one should have to experience this...especially a child. It really ticked her off. Looking ahead Rogue saw another young morlock child being pursued by a soldier with a sniper rifle. Rogue too charge running and stood in front of the child as the soldier open fired. Luckily for the D&D nerd's aura, Rogue was able to survive the attack and dash towards the soldier, who ignorantly continued to shoot. The solider was knocked off balance with a hard right hook to the face, dropping his weapon which Rogue picked up for herself and aimed it at the HYDRA jerk.
"After what you just tried to do and what you're up to, I kinda feel like I should pay ya back by finishin this round in ya forehead. Unfortunately, death would be way too easy of a punishment for you bastards. So how about a little pain and sufferin?" Rogue frowned firing into the soldier's knee caps, hands and and feet. His screams didn't stir up any emotion in the cold green eyes that peered down onto him from under Rogue's hood. He was getting what he deserved after all.
