[Plot Thread] Mutant Massacre, X-men

[Colossus]

Colossus fought like an enraged bear. While he still hadn't had very much training in hand to hand combat he was a natural brawler and frankly, fighting larger numbers of HYDRA agents in the enclosed spaces of the sewers it was his element. With his strength he managed to smash and swat aside the Agents no matter what they tried to bring to bear at him. Bullets bounced off his metal skin, flames merely warmed him like rays of the sun and knives shattered as his opponents tried to slash him when he was unable to defend himself.

As the fighting continued Piotr's costume received considerable and was barely still covering his modesty at this point. As the brawl continued Colossus grabbed a pair of HYDRA agents and hurled them through a nearby brick wall. With their bodies flying through the air like rag dolls Piotr realized that they had been the last two willing to face his fury. Colossus looked through the hole he had made and was shocked to find the rest of the X-men and New Mutants entwined in combat with more of HYDRA's agents. Mutant powers flashed through the air and Colossus took a moment to see where he could best be put to use.

His eyes scanned across the room he saw Kitty Pryde a.k.a. Shadowcat had a group of mutants with her that he did not recognize. Perhaps these where in fact the Morlocks they had come to save. Colossus realized quickly that this furious fighting was no place for Kitty and her group to be.

"Shadowcat!" he called out to her, "The way is clear. Come quick and lets get those Morlocks out of here." With that Colossus turned and pointed a big metal finger into the hole he had made in the wall. Piotr was prepared to lead Shadowcat and her rescued companions back out the way he came and try to direct them to a safer location.

[Cyclops]

Cyclops glanced around and saw the smaller conflicts starting to appear around, most of the X-men were engaging HYDRA but he noticed in pockets Shadow Cat, Pixie...and was that Colossus behind? he'd not seen him at the start of the mission...maybe he went his own way...that stray thought nearly cost him dearly as Hydra agent who got close smacked him in face with a rifle butt. Scott fell to the floor and as the Hydra agent bought his rifle up to shoot Scott got his hand to the visor and fired a shot at the weapon. The sudden shock knocked the rifle from the man's hands and Cyclops finished him up with a blast to the chest...that was close, but now he was covered in sewer water...damn he needed to have a good bath when he wa home.

[Iceman]

Bobby continued to weave his way between the Hydra soldiers that continued the fight. With the kids in tow while he skated along the frozen surface of the water, he opted for a defensive approach. Trying to focus amidst the chaos, his ice slide became a tubular shape around them, falling as slush in their wake. The thick tunnel of ice kept the bullets from hitting them for the time being. He continued the erratic movement to dodge the fire the best he could. Through the tube of ice he spotted the clearing Colossus provided. “Nice,” he said to no one in particular as he approached the area.

Iceman dropped the kids off and his expression was almost pained at the situation. Poor kids. The ricochet of gunfire snapped him out of his sentimental moment and he flashed a smile at the kids. “Chill out here, okay?” he asked as he leapt up and skated away again. It was that moment that his moment was thrown off by a bullet lodging into the icy surface of his shoulder; flinging him off the slide and into the water for a moment. “Agh!” he snarled in pain as he got up. His translucent brows furrowed as he leaped up into another slide; moving faster than before in hopes of gathering more stragglers.

Kitty blinked as Colossus did what, well, what he did best. She just kept picking up the survivors, forming a sort of chain of phased, and safe, Morlocks. The brunette couldn't help but think that it may not be such a great idea to take them down through a tunnel, even if Colossus could stop the majority of HYDRA from getting past him, there was still too much of a chance that someone could go after them. No, it wasn't a chance that she liked. Not after all that they've gone through, physical mutations that didn't allow for them to be out in the real world because of prejudice, and now this. No, Kitty refused to allow for chance.

Wincing at their shrieks as more bullets were fired, she knew they were safe so long as they would hold on and vocalized it, "Just hold onto me. I can keep them from hitting you..." She didn't know how much longer she could keep this much mass phased but she'd go until she passed out from the strain. A bead of sweat trickled down her face and she suddenly had an idea for how to handle the situation. Something cold.

Twisting her head around to find Bobby she finally caught sight of him, glancing back to Piotr she shouted, "Hold on! We're gonna make sure that they can't follow before I lead them out." Kitty wasn't making any gambles with this situation. Turning her head to Bobby once again she shouted, "Iceman! Make an ice wall to protect that way!" She jerked her hand to the opening to make sure Bobby understood, "I need you to make it as thick as you can. That way they can shoot it, or do whatever and it'll still prove to be a strong enough barrier to cover my back!"

Looking back to Piotr, she continued her instructions "And I need you to make sure that they don't get much of a chance to break it down at first! Give me time to get them out of here!" Thinking about it for a second she decided she might need back up. She didn't know if any of the Morlocks knew how, or wanted, to defend themselves, "Iceman! Follow me through, I think we should have multiple walls between us and the action, and just in case we run into trouble!"

Rushing as best she could with all the Morlocks, Kitty smiled, "It'll be alright, I promise we'll get you to safety..." She fought back the tears thinking about those that had already fallen before they could rescue them. There would be a time for crying and it wasn't tonight. Tonight she had to save the survivors.

[Kitten]

Kitten walked from where she was fighting after she had injured the Hydra agents . She then spotted some of the kids huddled scared and she slowly walked towards them and a gentle look in her eyes " ..hey don't i will get you safely ok ..will follow me " She tried to keep cool with this as she had the children following behind her back towards the Team.
