SOS… we’re the Morlocks, mutants who live sewers of New York City. Please help… we’re under attack. They’re going to kill us all! Please…. Help…..
Ares had received the telepathic plea for help in the afternoon. He had heard of these Morlocks- mutants whose mutations were so extreme that they could no longer live among humans. He gathered the Hellions together and they quickly took the jet to New York City- it was a quick flight, and after landing the jet and hiding it in stealth mode, he led the Hellions down into the sewers.
They weren’t very long into their trek into the sewers when they found them: a group of soldiers wearing green and carrying rifles… a group of people who were definitely not the Morlocks.
“Hail HYDRA!” one of the men cried out, aiming his rifle and shooting at the group.
Ares reached up and caught the bullet in his hand, frowning. So, it has begun….
Marie-Ange had been hanging out with Jubilee- she had just finished reading her Tarot cards and had shuffled the deck back together when one slipped out of her hand. She frowned, picking it up and biting her lip as she saw what card it was: the death card. She shuffled the cards again, but another card slipped out- it was the death card again.
Marie-Ange was now a bit freaked out. There were no coincidences, especially when it came to Tarot card reading. Her fears were only confirmed as once again, the Death card slipped from her hand and fluttered, face-up, to the floor.
“Somezing ees wrong.” She muttered, picking the card up and flicking it around her fingers. “Somezing ees very wrong.”
Her thoughts were only confirmed as Ares pounded on the door, ordering them to suit up and get to the jet. It took her only a few minutes to run to her room and change into her red jumpsuit, then race down to the jet. It was a short ride, one which Tarot spent going through her cards over and over again…. But still, the Death card always found a way to stand out.
She followed Ares into the tunnel, wrinkling her nose in distaste at the smell. She slid the Death card into her hand, her eyes glowing white as she flicked the card around.
The skeleton in the black cloak reared off the card, galloping forward on the horse and swinging the scythe around, hitting several of the soldiers and knocking them to the ground.

One minute Davis was just chilling out in his room playing one of his favorite videogames, the next minute Ares was bursting through his door telling him to get ready and hightail it to the jet. And when I say burst I do mean burst. He crashed trough the door like a bootleg Kool-aid man. Ares was replacing this door and that was that on that. After a few minutes of moaning and complaining, Davis was suited up in his battle uniform and out to the jet ready to roll out. Their of so mighty leader explained to them that there was some sort of mutant slaughter going on down in the sewers of New York, they were going to have to stop it.
The ride was short, too short for him to get any good rest in, but the little that he did have was good enough. Hearing that his own kind were being killed just for being mutants sparked a rare flame inside Davis. He was pissed and ready to take action on these idiot bastards calling themselves HYDRA. He and the rest of the team were in the sewers searching for these zealots, not long did they find them shooting at mutants.
Davis gritted his teeth, fist clenched as he watched them. The first one to attack was Marie-Ange with her death card. It was a sweet sight to behold as Death swiped at the idiots with his scythe. When his anger at an all time high, Davis charged forward and vanished into a portal of blue energy. He reappeared behind the soldiers, grabbed two of them, and then teleported them away from the playing field. "Hope you dingos like Hawaii," he said as they traveled along the warp-wave.
A split second later a portal opened up and spat out the two HYDRA goons. Their destination: into the depths of Hawaii's most active volcano, Kilauea. He stayed for a few moments to hear the screams of terror and agony as their bodies were burned to nothing but ash by the molten lava. Satisfied with the job, Davis returned back to the sewers where his teammates were doing battle. He looked to them and chuckled. "Just had to give those two dingos a vacation in Hawaii." That comment would probably be misinterpreted.

Warren had been pearched up on the roof of the Academy, a favorite place for him to go when he wanted to be alone and just think. He was in fact deep in thought when suddenly the door to the roof opened up and out stalked Ares. Of all the people here Warren got along with him the best, apparently that killer instinct was a mutual understanding.
"C'mon boy," Ares grumbled, "there's work to be done."
Nothing else needed to be said as Warren leapt off the roof and glided towards his window before sliding it up and ducking into his room. Within moments he was dressed in his battle uniform and quickly boarded the jet. He remained silent and focused the entire trip to New York as he learned about mutants simply being massacred because of who they where and how they looked. If things had gone differently in his past Warren could have very easily ended up with these Morlocks.
As they entered the sewer Warren felt apprehensive about being underground where he would be confined and barely able to fly at most parts but he had to trust in Ares judgement.
When they came across the HYDRA soldiers Warren felt his anger simply burst like a dam. He knew perfectly well what was happening but until he saw men with guns he hadn't accepted that it was really happneing. Slipstream and Tarot made their first moves.
With a scream of rage he rushed forward as he wings extended to their full extent possible while in the sewers. Metallic wings flashed out, razor sharp and ever so deadly. Flexing his muscles the wings snapped forward and half a dozen razor sharp feathers flew through the air with deadly precision as they pierced the throats and faces of three more soldiers. So consumed by his rage Archangel couldn't even focus. He leapt forward with a snap of wings for extra height as he started slashing at the remaining soldiers. The only thing he cared about now was seeing their blood on the walls of the sewer.

Logan realised Angel must be some kind of psychopath, he took to killing to well. It wasn't natural for a person to just kill like that. Logan knew about killing, he hated it. But sometimes, you just got to do what you got to do. Regardless, right now the Canadian mutant had a job to do, and he was the best person at.
Wolverine ran forward, adorned in his red and white Hellion outfit, charging the men and women in the green outfits, there was something stupid about it, but Wolverine had more important things in his mind right now. His claws painfully slid out of his hands before he jumped into a roll, through the disgusting water, bone claws cutting gun barrels off before swinging around to cut at the achillies tendon and arm, the chest and lower back. Injuring cuts, but none would kill.

A trip into the sewers? Where poop went? Jubes was definitely cringing as she walked behind the group behind Logan, suited up in the red and white hellion uniform, accompanied by a red jacket and a pair of shades. The team came into contact with some HYDRA goons, who ever and whatever HYDRA was. Either way, what they were doing to the Morlocks was unforgivable and they had to be stopped now.
Jubilee watched the others engage in battle. Davis putting his teleporting skills to use by getting rid of some on them. Little vacation in hawaii? She had hoped that was all and he had not sent them to their death. Killing was something Jubilee didn't like at all and when she saw how Warren had begun to slay the soldiers, she had to turn away and avoid looking at the carnage.
"Warren, for crying out loud!" she yelled disgusted by his actions. Unfortunately, there would be no time for her to preach as she was pursued by a couple of men that had slipped past the others and made their way towards her. If the Jubes is what they wanted, then thats what they would get. Raising her right hand, it sparked with a blue shade of plasma and the asian teen launched it into the faces of the men. No blowing off their heads, just to blinding them and scorching their faces. She didn't want to kill them, but she wanted to see them hurt for their attacks against the morlocks.

Ayame saw what was going on and bit her lower lip. She didn't want to kill unless she had to but that didnt mean she liked it. She ignited a ball of fire in her hand and held it up to light the sewers up. She didn't feel useful but they had to have light down there somehow. She didn't want to hurt her team mates either in these narrow tunnels by throwing fireballs at the green-clad people. She created small fires on those in green targeting various areas laughing softly creating chaos.

While the team went down into the sewers with Ares. Betsy took another root into the sewers and was coming in from the other end sneaking around and killing the HYDRA soldiers with no one noticing as she made her way towards the others. Grabbing a man from behind she pulled him into the shadows and snapped his neck then dragged his body behind some boxes so no one would find him.
She continued on towards the others at the same time scanning minds trying to find the ring leader but wasn't having much luck finding them. Which meant they weren't here so they would have to go deeper in with that thought she began searching for a Morlock that may still be alive so she could find out where HYDRA leader was or at lest where there home was at so they wouldn't be wondering around lost in the sewers.

It was suppose to be a quiet night. Then Ares had sounded the call to war and all available Hellions had been put on a fast flight to New York. Fellow mutants where being massacred in the sewers and Calvin would be damned if he was just going to sit by and not do anything about it. He watched the others make their first strikes, Tarot summoned a figure from one of her cards and swept a few aside, Slipstream sent two of them on a Hawaiian vacation although Cal's heightened senses did pick up the smell of burnt hair on him, Wolverine slashed and disabled a few and Jubilee put her fireworks to good use. Archangel however, he just murdered these men and made it look like it was one of the easiest things he had ever done. Mimic let out a slight shutter as he watched Warren work for a moment before snapping back to reality and remembering a fight was still in progress.
"Jesus Christ man...." he muttered to himself over Warren's actions before deciding now wasn't the time to address the issue of their homicidal teammate. Mimic analyzed the situation and figured out where best to deploy himself. He focused for a moment as his body changed into a form of pure diamond thanks to the abilities of Ms. Frost. While not as durable or powerful as she was in her transformed state Calvin still was far better off given the circumstances. Taking his next steps he reached out for the powers of his nearby teammates Slipstream and Jubilee. Mimic certainly wasn't the greatest at using their powers but for what he intended he didn't need that much skill. As he felt their powers flood into his body and mix with his own DNA Calvin rushed forward like he was charging the remaining soldiers. A portal of blue energy appeared as Calvin road the warp wave to the back of the group.
He whistled for the HYDRA agents attention and when a few turned his way he released a barrage of multi-colored "fireworks" that blinded the men looking at him. As they clawed at their eyes in pain Mimic put his diamond fists to work and started pounding on the bad guys. He did hit them hard enough to knock them out and maybe break a few bones but he sure as hell didn't try to kill them. He finished the last one by shoulder slamming him into the concrete wall of the sewer hard enough to force the air out of the man's lungs in a loud "oooofffffff" before he collapsed to the ground. With that he turned to see if anyone bad guys remained to fight in their immediate area.

Emma was at her Academy. She had stayed and decided to set up for the survivors of the sewers. She had a few things set up but she kept a mind link with Ares and Psylocke, having them refer to her what was happening. It sounded horrible. She set out a few medical instruments, knowing she may well have to use them. Betsy, have Slipstream be on the go to create his portals, Emma thought to the assassin.
He looked around anxiously. She knew the time would come when people would start rebelling against mutants, she didn't know it would be so soon.

Personally, Heather did not want to be here. The Massachusetts Academy had enough powerful individuals to handle a situation, something she found amusingly contradicting to now. Everyone was assembled to stop some kind of massacre against a renegade band of mutants, yet the entire team was called when, really, Emma and Mimic alone could probably take down the opposition. It wasn't like they were facing Apocalypse, but Heather accepted her fate as second in command under the White Queen and alongside Wolverine, and proceeded to move into the action, albeit slowly.
Davis...
"If it isn't too much to ask, mind cuttin' the vilo? We're needin' no violence today." she quipped towards her brother Slipstream, whom was only going to make it increasingly difficult for human-mutant relations if he kept dropping people into volcanoes. "And be sure to tell metal turkey over there the same, I'm not going to share the hobby of killing with these... uniformed idiots, whoever they are."
HYDRA. Heather had no idea who they were really, except that they were keen on firearms and slaughter. Kind of funny really, a child hits another to make a point, but here they were, grown-ups, all doing the same thing - only with guns instead of palms. "Jackasses..." she muttered, thinking about it made her sick, and reminded her of the stubborn days with her own sibling. But Davis was pushed to the side as she continued watching the situation, she was only useful if she felt endangered, but right now the Hellions had it all under control.
"I guess I wait, seein' as how everyone seems more intent on doin' their own thing."

"There's more up a head." Wolverine informed, his nose picking up the scent of gun oil, the stink of morlocks, and the sweat of Hydra. Lots of them. He kept his claws ready, no point putting them back yet. His feet kick up splashes of water as he ran down the tunnel, stopping once in a while to give the air a sniff. While he had been waiting for the others as he ran ahead, stopping once in a while to let them catch up, when he heard gunshots go off, he exploded into action. Mimic would be able to lead the way, Logan had noticed him picking up on things.
Wolverine arrived too late, a pair of Hydra agents had shot and killed what must have been a dozen people, lined them up against the wall and shot them. Assholes. They saw him coming, but with a careful step to the right and a lunge, he had managed to avoid being a cushion for bullets, instead he disarmed them, permanently. A trained kick and elbow strike later and the agents were down. He looked at them, the bloody stumps they now called hands and the stupid green costumes.
He waited for the others to catch up, sniffing the air, there was something strange, but there was certainly fire, and lots of it. The smell of burned skin was unmistakable.

Marie-Ange was disgusted by how easily some of her teammates could kill. It was horrible, really... no one should kill like that.
"Warren!" she cried out, shaking her head, her anger making her accent even more noticable. "Zere ees no need to kill zem!"
Incapicitate only! After all, even though she had pulled the death card out, the Death figure only knocked the HYDRA soliders down. And speaking of which, the Death figure had made its way back to her, and she flicked the now-blank card around her fingers, summoning the figure back to the card.
The signature paf of Jubilee's plasma made her look around- several of the men had gotten past her and the other's attacks, and was now heading towards them.
Marie-Ange flicked another card into her hand, holding it up in front of her face and her eyes glowing white. The Knight of Wands leaped off the card, swinging his long staff around. It hit the back of one man's neck, and he dropped to the ground, unconcious.
Gunshots suddenly echoed through the tunnel, though, and Marie-Ange gasped, her eyes glowing white as she made the Chariot tarot appear. True, it was way old fashioned and probably looked ridiculous, but it was a fast and convienent transportation. She stepped up neatly onto the back of the Chariot and it took off, racing down the sewers and following the direction Wolverine had taken.
When she reached Wolverine, though, she let out a gasp and the Chariot card disappeared in white flash. She stumbled to the ground, feeling the bile rise in her throat at the dead bodies. She glasped her hands over her mouth and closed her eyes, taking a few deep breaths to steady herself.
That was horrible, really! They all had been shot execution-style...
But that did no good for trying to calm her nerves down, especially considering the smell- a gross, smoke-y smell that somehow Marie-Ange knew was burning skin...

Archangel heard his teammates protests at his more violent methods of dispatching the HYDRA agents. None of them had mutations that clearly marked them as a mutant, none of them knew what it was like to have their very body turn into a strange alien landscape. None of them knew the feeling that it could very easily have been Warren being hunted down in these tunnels if fate had chosen to a slightly different path for him.
The protests of his teammates where ignored as Archangel's metal wing flashed through the air as he slashed through the leg of one HYDRA agent, cutting it clean through the bone. The man was still alive but he certainly would be dead soon enough. Gunshots echoed down the hall and Warren saw Tarot take off down the hall with another of her summoned characters.
Not wanting to leave her alone in case of danger Archangel flapped his wings and flew down the sewer. The confines where tight and he could almost feels his wings brush the walls as he raced after Tarot. His wings splayed to stop his motion as he saw her kneeling on the ground and obviously horrified but what she saw. Warren looked into the room and saw the death that permeated the air. Logan had taken care of the HYDRA agents suitably.
At that moment Archangel did some very strange for him, very unlike the animal that he was slowly turning into. It was almost as if the old Warren managed to take the wheel. He placed a reasuring hand on Tarot's should, gently so as to not suprise her or make her think she was being attacked. His wings folded back as he kneeled down next to her.
"It's ok Tarot," trying to tell her that this reaction was normal, "this is not something anyone should have to see. Hopefully we can stop this from happening and save what Morlocks are still down here." His voice was calm and level. Maybe now when the others saw just how horrible these HYDRA agents where they might be a little less opposed to his tactics. He looked up at Wolverine, with his heightend senses he would certainly have the best idea of what was happening down here.
"What now?" he asked the mutant with the bone claws.

Jubilee followed behind Logan, Tarot and Warren towards the gunshots and when she stumbled upon the bodies, she let out a scream and slapped a hand over her mouth at the grotesque scene. She really couldn't figure out the reason these men or anyone really to do something like this. Just because they looked different, they had to be slain? It disgusted her, so much she could actually feel the water well up in her eyes and a few tears roll down her cheeks for those who had perished. Unfortunately, the smell only made things worse and she couldn't keep herself from throwing up. The asian teen fell to her knees, splashing in the shallow sewer water and leaned over, coughing up vomit.
"I can't do this... she said weakly. "I don't know if I can handle anymore. It's too much...

Looking around Scion followed up behind the rest of his teammates. Not because he was afraid, he wasn't. He was positively shaking with pent up rage at these events. Julian had come to look at mutant kind as a sort of family, a real one, not the ridiculously distant and horrible relationship he'd had with his blood family. He couldn't help but think how the night had turned gone from good to bad. He'd just gotten finished with his post-work out shower when he was forcibly dragged to the sewers. The young mutant wasn't even sure what was going on. Why they were going. And then he saw it. He saw things that he'd never forget no matter how much he would later want to.
Julian was born to the sort of world where this sort of thing just didn't touch them. Sure it was on the news, and he knew about it. But it was one thing to hear about a massacre, to hear about genocide, it was another matter entirely to see it. To witness it in such graphic detail was enough to make his typically ironclad gut churn. Swallowing back the bile, Julian steeled himself, feeding off his anger at the situation and pushing back the fear. Raising his hands the shock of neon green energy crackled at his finger tips. His sapphire hued eyes faded into the more radioactive looking color and he gestured with each of his hands towards two of the HYDRA assailants. They each didn't seem to know what to make of the young mutant's elaborate gestures.
This brief moment of confusion was ended within milliseconds as the force of Julian's telekinetic fury gripped them and threw them against each other, and then against a wall. Another HYDRA operative noticed the raven haired mutant's activities and took aim and began to fire. Sticking his hand out, a pale green force field manifested as each bullet hit it Julian tried to keep them from ricocheting by allowing the shield to give a little with each impact, falling harmlessly to the ground rather than bouncing all throughout the narrow tunnels. His teammates were his primary concern, the morlocks were second, the lives of any critters were third, and then the well being of the HYDRA were as low as one could get. At this point the slime on the walls was more important to him than their lives.
Making his way to Jubilee and the others after his brief exercise in the use of his powers Julian glanced at her, and frowned softly, kneeling down he ignored the thought of what it was he was kneeling it, thanking god that his suit was waterproof and enveloped the teen in a force field, protecting them both from harm. Placing a hand on the Asian-American's shoulder he shook her softly. "C'mon, Jubes. We have to keep going. It can't end like this. Otherwise these here," Julian gestures with one of his hands to the fallen, "they'll have died in vain." While his tone had originally been soft and consoling, Julian knew when he had to push.
Hauling himself back to a standing position the dark haired young man looked down at Jubilee and made a decision about the situation. He wasn't dating her. She was his team mate and when a team mate was at the point of giving up you made them want to get up, you didn't force it on them. As he began to walk away he called over his shoulder, voice hard and commanding, "Get up, Jubilee. We have a job to do. The survivors are counting on us." Having said his peace the telekinetic began to search out the other remaining HYDRA operatives, a hand held out behind him, still generating a force field for as long as he could, just in case. His free hand wrought destruction against those that sought to harm the defenseless and his mutant family.
