Thursday. 1:20 PM. The street was all kinds of busy, mostly from a lunch rush that seemed to be never ending. Didn't exactly help that this particular strada had quite a few eateries lining the sidewalks, allowing customers to not only sit inside but outside as well to enjoy the weather. Had to admit, it actually was pretty nice outside. Good old classic 72 degrees and sunny, by her book. Sunglasses were definitely in order, mon frere. Though, she also had to admit that it was just a little too quiet around here. Not in the 'nobody's around' kind of quiet, but the 'everybody's doing the same thing' kind of quiet. All the nice little denziens of New York were just too comfortable in their own little world, certainly it was healthy to shake things up a bit.
Now, don't think she could really do much to ruin their perfect little day, though she had to admit-it would be a little fun to just put at least a little bit of a damper on their perfect day. Everyone just seemed to be a little too cozy in the warm weather, why not put a bit more of a skip in their step? Make 'em a bit more lively as they mindlessly milled about the shops going in with nothing and coming out with doggie bags full of morsels bound to put at least few pounds onto those hips. A little sick, if she could say so herself. She, who couldn't put on a pound even if she tried, and these disgusting pigs could eat one freakin' muffin and put on weight like it was child's play. Maybe she should experiment-buy a muffin, dip it in butter, roll it in bread crumbs, deep fry it, and then eat it. Yeah. Totally. Not only would that um, eat through her entire stomach, but it'd either cause an instant heart attack or make her blow chunks all over the sidewalk. Not pretty people, not pretty.
Those piercing blue eyes, hidden behind a park of dark purple sunglasses, were taking a good look around her while she took up space at one of the outdoor tables with a lukewarm cup of coffee by her side, just to make sure she didn't look like a moocher just hogging a seat that she technically wasn't allowed to even sit in without buying anything. She didn't mind spending the few dollars on the sub-par caffeinated drink, as long as it'd secure a seat that gave her the perfect vantage point. Looking as casually as possible, she had one of her parliaments burning away, drawing in the smoke little by little as she did a little bit more surveying until it was like the flip of the switch, the temperature had immediately dropped forty-three degrees. Now the air was so cold, below freezing, that the citizens immediately noticed a change and soon enough she saw them shaking in their little boots. Of course, except for her, who was sitting quite comfortably while the others suffered. That malign grin of hers was now plastered across her face, feeling accomplished if nothing else.
So what on Earth could make this day any more exciting?
