Great, an entire day at the f***ing zoo watching monkeys hurl crap at each other. Just how I wanted to spend my friday. Calvin Rankin thought to himself as he stepped off the bus that had taken them from the campus over to the Franklin Park Zoo. He stretched his shoulder muscles out with a groan as they had become stiff sitting on the bus. After he stepped off the bus Calvin moved to the side to let the other passengers off the bus. Today Cal had chosen to wear a simple dark blue t-shirt, jeans, work boots and a leather jacket. His hair was parted down the middle to stay out his face while he took in all the "wonderful" sites to be held.
"Really? With everything we see back at the Academy they really thought a trip to the zoo would be interesting?" He said to no one in particular. Calvin had personally watched his fellow classmates burst into flames, flip busses and now he was expected to enjoy watching a bunch of depressed animals sit around and wait to die from boredom? This day sucked already. As Calvin started for the front gates he did manage to catch a pair of attractive young ladies murmur some appreciative remarks about him thanks to his new heightened sense of hearing. He waited a moment to let them walk past and take an appreciative glance of their finer "attributes" as well.
"Maybe it won't be so bad after all." he muttered to himself before heading towards the entrance. The sooner they strated the sooner they could hurry up and leave.

Why people complained varied. Some were disappointed, some were spoiled, and some were just never happy with life. Some, however, denied any of these. Calvin Rankin was one of those complainers, and it wasn't exactly a good first impression to make. At least I don't have to be around him all the time... she thought, while approaching the entrance to Franklin Park Zoo.
"You're quite the appreciative one, aren't you?" she asked, quizzically sarcastic tone and cocked right eyebrow shifted. "You could be back at ol' A-Cad doin' pencil 'n paper." Not that homework unnerved Heather, she just thought a lot of it was a bull's worth. "I, for one, actually look forward to this. Then again, I accepted life won't go my way for a long time."
All that remained was to see if anyone else was going to complain, or man up and endure. If I hear another 'un complain 'bout some dribble, I'll have had it. she continued to idly think, looking around for the others.

"You and I both Miss Cameron" Emma said as she stepped off the bus. She had on a pair of classy black pinstripe pants with a white blouse and a matching pinstripe vest. Her hair was pulled up in a business like bun. She took a deep breath of the zoo air and let it out. "Well students, you have a bit of work today." Emma said as she smiled at the two who were off the bus already. "Miss Cameron, how is the training going with Ares?"Emma asked as she looked over at Heather.

Sam got off the bus right after Emma he had on a pair of blue jeans a white t-shirt under a black leather boots. He was happy to get off the bus he didn't mind the nose he was use to it from his little brothers and sisters. It was the lack of leg room that he didn't like never have never will.
Spotting Calvin walking off on his own he went after him and went to grab him by the arm "Hold yer horses ya gotta wait for the others." he said pointing to the group with his thumb "Come on ya can stare at the pretty lady's later." he waited for Calvin to head back to the group before he would head back not wanting him to run off.

Heh, a field trip to the Franklin Park Zoo sounded like a load of crap when the young Davis Cameron first heard it. Then after a few moments of thinking on some certain possibilities, he changed his mind on the subject. A trip to the zoo would be very fun indeed. And his best friend/girlfriend would be there with him so if her got bored he could just goof around with her. Davis was actually excited to the kangaroos and other animals native to Australia; it made him think of the good times back at home... when he and his sister weren't being hunted for having a crimelord as a father.
On this lovely little trip, Davis kept it simple when it came to the attire. He was wearing a nice little white muscle shirt, black jean shorts and white sneakers. Simple was the way to go, no need to try and look all fashionable like. As he stepped off the bus, he ran a hand through his uncombed blonde hair. Seems like Calvin was complaining as usual and Heather was being.... Heather. It was nice to have his sister with him again. He ran up behind her and gave her a nice little hug followed by a tuffle of her hair.
He chuckled a bit as he walked pass her. "Well ain't this gonna be one helluva good day. Spending time at the zoo with friends was awesome. "So yea lets get this show on the road, I'm getting bored just standing here like a lump on a toad's back... or Heather's. Davis placed his hands in his pockets and began strolling towards the front gate with a lazy smile.

Jubilation Lee strolled off the bus, somewhat distracted by the ear buds of her MP3 player blasting Christina Aguilera into her ears. The girl was dressed in her usual get up. A white tank top bearing her midriff, low cut pair of capris jeans, with yellow stripes going down the sides, a pair of white sneakers with yellow shoe laces, a short cut yellow jacket, large hoop yellow earrings and a pair of yellow sunglasses rested on top of her head. She moved towards her group of Hellions rolling eyes at Calvin's complaining and completely agreeing with Heather and Ms. Frost.
"Could be worse Cal. Zoo is better than going into a manure factory or something..." she said popping a piece of bubble gum into her mouth and strolling over next to Davis. "So...what part of the zoo do you want to hit up first?"

Not that homework unnerved Heather, she just thought a lot of it was a bull's worth. "I, for one, actually look forward to this. Then again, I accepted life won't go my way for a long time."
"Well good for you." Calvin said dryly. Truly he could care less what they thought but if everyone else wanted to have fun Calvin guessed he would just have to go along with the crowd. "Yay zoo." he said with a mock twirl of his fingers for add "excitment". He started walking forward when he suddenly felt someone latch onto his arm and stopped his motion. Slowly he turned to see Mr. Guthrie holding onto his arm.
"Hold yer horses ya gotta wait for the others." he said pointing to the group with his thumb "Come on ya can stare at the pretty lady's later."
Just seemed like it was going to be one of those days. Calvin might be able to go along with most things but having a teacher try to manhandle him like he was in preschool wasn't one of them. This however was neither the time or place to voice his opinion obviously. After a moment Calvin yanked his arm free and waited for the rest of the group to catch up.
"Whatever you say Mr. Guthrie." he had no tone to his words and just stood there. As the rest of the class approached Calvin just waited. If the day sucked too bad he was sure he'd find some way to help keep it more interesting.

"Students" Emma said in a disciplinary tone as she took in all the kids. Jubilation was looking like she belonged in the middle of a rock concert. Davis at the farm with the pigs. Calvin looked as he always did. Calvin. And Heather, who Emma couldn't help but proclaim as her favorite. "I know most of you see this trip as a complete elementary waste of time. But it has a purpose" she said as she rested her hands on her hips. "I want you to find the animal that most resembles you. I do not mean in your appearance" she said as she looked over all the kids. Here she reverted to though speak so as not to bust out their powers in front of every civilian at the place. I want you to find the animal that most resembles your powers. I want five reasons why as well she said to them. "After you have found the animal you will come head to the refreshment lobby where Mr Guthrie and I will be waiting. " she said as she nodded to Guthrie. "Now go and keep a open mind in all this. You'll be surprised what you will find out if you keep your mind open" she said with a little smile. "You have half an hour" she finished as she walked over to Guthrie and linked her arm in his and headed for the food lobby.

"It has yet to begin." she responded to the Headmistress. "But I'm sure it will go well, it has no reason not to."
Feeling something from behind, Heather assumed it to be Davis or a random pervert. Turning around, it was a bit of both. "Thanks... I think." she said, it was all she could say really. Not since her infantile days with Davis could she recall appreciating hugs, maybe the powers kicking in contributed to that. Nonetheless, Heather endured the hug and waited for it to end, then came the tuffling of the hair. "You can be a girl's worst enemy, you know that?"
Heather had practically ignored Mr. Guthrie, mostly due to him not being close to her area and viewing Cannonball as 'one of them'. As for Jubilee, Heather didn't really know her, but obviously her brother had something going on; what exactly was of no concern to Lifeguard, but she was sure Davis would come gushing it all out to her, soon.
"Feel free to lead, o' King of Cool." she quipped to Mimic, feeling that he could certainly be handling all of this better. "You seem anxious to get this over with, why not take us through the fastest route? Somewhere among your powers must be something useful."
I want you to find the animal that most resembles your powers. I want five reasons why as well.
"Talk about a pickle..." There was one issue with that, the animal that could most likely be linked to Heather was only native to Australian zoos. They had a tendency to die when brought elsewhere, which probably wasn't a good trait to be associated with. "... well, there's always the back up." she stated, moving towards the bulky center of the zoo.

Warren had stayed quiet for the entire bus ride. He sat as far back and away from the others and tried to find a comfortable position while he was back there. Today Warren had been given a new device, something they had called an image inducer. With this helpful little tool on his wrist that looked like a wrist watch Warren's skin appeared normal instead of his typical blue shade. He had chosen to wear a baggy sweat shirt to help conceal the lump of his metallic wings that where folded down to the point of almost being painful in order to keep them hidden. To finish off his attire he also wore a pair of khaki shorts and flip flops. Perhaps he had chosen the clothing to feel less constrained, not that it helped. He practically ached to let his wings burst free of his sweat shirt and simply take to the skies.
He had taken some time to settle himself before being the last person to get off the bus. He remained at the back of the group and said almost nothing as he simply took it all in. This was the most social enviorment Warren had been in besides the Academy since his powers developed.
He felt Ms. Frost's words in his head and realized this was perhaps an easy assignment for him. Warren was a big bird man with wings who was more predator then prey at this point. If this zoo was worth anything it certainly would have at least a few hawks that he could choose from for the assignment.
"You seem anxious to get this over with, why not take us through the fastest route? Somewhere among your powers must be something useful."
He had moved closer to the group before they decided to head out and managed to catch the tail end of Heather's comment towards Calvin, who given his attitude certainly wasn't tryign to make himself well liked at this point, and let out a slight chuckle.
"Nice," he commented to her as he brushed his shoulder length blonde hair out of his eyes and tried to figure out which part of the zoo he wanted to go to first.

Sam watched Calvin he hadn't been with the school that long and already knew the boy was going to be troublesome. He shook his head as he watched them walk off to do there work This is going to be very long year he then felt something grab his arm looking over he saw it was Emma she had linked her arm in his and was leading them to the food lobby.
Once they had reach the lobby and made there way over to a table. He pulled out a chair for Emma and waited for her to sit before he took a seat himself. As he sat there he began to wonder if taking a job as a teacher was a good idea maybe he should have stayed on the farm helping his Mother and younger siblings.

Emma smiled and shook her head at Warrens thought. Easy Mr Worthington. Just take the assignment and work with it [/i]Emma said as she was lead to the luncheon area.
She sat in the seat Sam had pulled out for her. Emma smiled comfortingly at him. "Don't worry Sam, it'll get better as time goes on. You simply have to let the students know that your the boss. You see how they respond to me." Emma said as she got a water from a passing vendor. "Besides Mr. Rankin, is there any other problem students that seem to have you on alert? Or any promising ones? Personally I find Miss Cameron extremely interesting. She holds so much power and doesn't know what to do with it. I, myself, can't seem to read it. It's puzzling and amazing at the same time" Emma said as she took a small drink from the water.

"..." Jubilee stood silently as she had received Emma's assignment in her mind. She felt herself slump a bit in disappointment. "Couldn't just have a nice field trip for a break, we just HAD to have an assignment. And of all assignments....who many animals out there spark fireworks? Ugh..." she grunted in frustration, blowing a bubble with her gum until it popped and she proceeded to chew on it. Then again, she could probably slack off and use a firefly or something else that glowed like her pafs. Poor Davis on the other hand...didn't have many options seeing as she didn't ever recall anything in the animal kingdom being able to teleport.
"I think I wanna go check out the bugs and stuff. They always do weird crap. Might get lucky and fine some species that can do stuff like us. Though, we might have trouble finding an animal you can relate to Davis," Jubilee smiled, patting him on the back before proceeding to the insect displays.

Dammit... this was suppose to be a simple field trip to the local zoo for them to clear their minds and have a little fun. But noooo.... Miss Frost just had to make a damn assignment out of it. When Davis heard her speak on it, his legs nearly gave out on him and he slumped back before straightening up with a frown. "Ahhh man are you serious?! I knew this day was too good to be true." He let out a long annoyed sigh just as Jubilee walked up to him. He looked to her with a long face.
"Babe this assignment sucks monkey balls. There isn't a friggin animal that can friggin teleport. It makes no damn sense. You know sometimes I think Frost just likes to toy with us." Davis rans his hands through his hair then placed them in his pockets. The bug exhibit sounded like a good place to start out at. Maybe just maybe he could find something there. He followed Jubilee off the bug display dragging his feet.

Well it appeared that Calvin and the new girl Heather where really hitting it off to a "great" start.
"Feel free to lead, o' King of Cool." she quipped to Mimic, feeling that he could certainly be handling all of this better. "You seem anxious to get this over with, why not take us through the fastest route? Somewhere among your powers must be something useful."
And now she was trying to insult his powers?
"Darn, and here I was hoping you'd learn to control your powers and would come to save the day." he said with a half smile. "Sorry," he quickly followed the comment, "this place might not be so bad if I gave it half a chance." Plus if he actually made at least a small effort maybe everyone would get off of his case.
I want you to find the animal that most resembles your powers. I want five reasons why as well
Seriously? Calvin was suppose to find an animal that could mimic the abilities of other animals? Right cause that would be easy!
"So any idea where to start?" he asked Heather, "I can't think of any land animals that might work for this assignment, maybe we should head over to the aquarium?" It was an attempt to try and become more agreeable with his fellow students, plus if that didn't work it would be all to easy to go back to the way he normally was.
