Emily sat in the gardens soaking up the sun, her mind was drifting back to her last encounter with her family, how she wished she'd only gone with them, then she'd be back home. With Darius, and with Mom and Dad. She sighed and sat up straight. No use pouting about something she couldn't change now. For now she had to find away home. "Well I might as well meditate." She said allowed to no one in particular. "Maybe I can find away to reach some one who can help." The young mutant chuckled, probably not. But she had to keep trying.

Cyclops had decided to take a bit of a walk before training today. He was wearing his Training Gear At first he found the costume a little tight and a bit uncomfortable but now he didn't mind it so much, he supposed it was all about getting used to it really. I spotted someone sitting in the grounds, he'd not seen them before so decided to go and introduce himself...newer students had the habit these days of getting put in the New Mutants so who knows...next week he could be training her. Standing behind him he cleared his throat and said "Hi...thought I'd come introduce myself, hope you don't mind...I'm Scott Summers, or Cyclops if you prefer...I've not seen you around here before. Are you new?"

Emily turned around to see the tightly outfitted man. She wasn't sure she was going to get used to this era. She sighed and looked up at him. "Yeah, I'm new." She waved a hand and then set it down in her lap. "I'm Emily Linton-Davis or Solaris if you prefer." The young woman gave a sort of half smile, the warmth of the sun felt so good on her shoulders and hair, she could have sat their all day.

Cyclops glanced a little differently at her, did she just sigh? he asked himself. Well that was a little rude...like talking to him could be considered an effort on her part. Maybe it was just being new...maybe she'd been asked if she was new about 30 times and was getting sick of it. Either way he shrugged it off and said "Are you okay...you seem a little down.."

"Yeah, I was just thinking I wanted to get home." Emily thought, though he probably wouldn't believe her if she said home was forty years in the future. Well she thought for a moment, this place was full of freaks- at least that's what her mother always told her. Well, her mother was in Camp Hammond- was she there now? Would her mother even believe her? She's gone to Xavier's to find dad, but wasn't here- yet. Were they even alive in this dimension?

Ah she was home sick...well that was understandable, she was probably from a loving and stable family who were completly supporting of their daughter or sister to go to this academy. He moved closer to her and sat down on the grass next to her. "Did you want to talk about it....or left alone?"

Emily smiled, this guy was at least trying. "Um... I'm not sure I want to talk about it. But company is acceptable." She pat the bench next to her. She'd been pretty devoid of company the past few months, ever since she'd gotten her powers. Though now she couldn't seem to get out of that loner groove, even in such a close quarters place as this.

Cyclops sat down next to the girl, she seemed like a bit of a loner...an he supposed that was fair if she liked it like that...but he knew how things went in schools, even ones like this one and if you didn't start making friends soon eventually all the little cliques were formed and you ended up with no one.
"So....have you been here long?" he asked, smiling...it was always nice to get to know more people, esspecially since the school was filling up, he doubted they'd be able to hide the fact they were mutants soon.

"About a week, just settling, trying to get used to the time change and such." That was a big understatement. Not only was her body working five hours ahead of New York, it was also work Forty Years ahead of this year. She smiled back at the man and wondered what she should ask. "Are you staff? I mean, no offense but you seem a bit to old to be a student."

Ah she was only here this week, and jet lagged? hmm...he wondered where the girl had come from, must've been a fair distance away. He then blinked in surprise when she asked if he was staff? hold old did he look anyway? chuckling he said "I'm eighteen...was one of the first students here...and technicly I do co-run a team of mutants...but no, I'm not staff since I don't earn a wage"

Emily blinked a few times. Eighteen? He was younger than her- well in this time any way. "Oh, wow. You look a bit older than I me." She smiled at her own stupidity. "Sorry I'm really out of touch." She chuckled a bit, then smiled at him. "So Scott, what are you here for?" She guessed that was a valid question, she wondered what his primary studies were, and what sort of power he had.

Scott smirked at her...did he? he didn't think he looked that old...maybe it was because of the training gear...and the training as well, sometimes it seemed the school was a mixture of football players and cheerleaders...well excluding Kurt, unless he was the team's mascot.
Then she asked about his studies...he hadn't really gone past general studies yet but he knew soon he'd leave the 'high school' stage and would have to look further....well he already knew what he was going to do "Well originally I was here for power control...and as you can see..." he gestured to the visor "I need a little extra help then most...I just do general studies at the moment, but I think I want to stay on and help mutants here...maybe start studying to be a teacher or something"

Emily chuckled. "Maybe I've got foresight then." She teased. "A teacher huh? That's pretty cool." She sat back a bit, propping her hands behind her. She tossed a lock of long blonde hair off her shoulder and with a flick of her head, she'd seen her mother doing it a thousand times growing up. Her mother had probably done it out of dramatics, and it probably just became habit, one her girls picked up.

Well at least the responce wasn't 'a teacher? lame' he smiled and nodded, wondering if this girl would've been put on his New Mutants squad or not. The number of his people in his squad was getting big...there were now more New Mutants then there were X-men, which is why he supposed they had two leaders whilst the X-men had only professor Xavier.
Scratching the back of his head he decided to ask "So what brings you here anyway? power control? general learning? or just trying to find out about us fellow mutants?"

"My dad came here when he was a kid. I just got these powers, and I don't know how to control them, so this was the only place I knew to go to." She informed, how old was this place now any way? She hoped it was old enough to have her dad being from here, explaining what had happened to her would be to hard. Emily scratched the back of her head.
