Iceland. It wasn't known for much, except that stupid stereotype that it was a land of ice. You could blame the Vikings for that little mishap, naming Iceland and Greenland what they did - total opposites - in order to trick migrating Europeans. Iceland was actually fairly green, while Greenland was pretty icy. Yet this did not stop the idiotic remarks about her home country, all she could do was endure.
"It is not so bad, there could be the possibility of having control over ice." she quirked, but failing to show any facial expression of amusement. "But what I do, these powers, they seem so wasted on this little island community. I am far more deserving of an option than... this, an option that allows me to reveal my grandness for all to see." Yes, Lilija Eiriksson was vain, but she felt there was every right to be; no one came close to her, and she would be damned if someone actually did or attempted.
"Reviving sea life begins to become tiresome, where is the real challenge?" she asked, implying she had become bored with bringing back traveling flocks of birds, washed up whales, and dried out fish. However she also knew no one would answer, and even if anyone was close enough to hear, how could they? Only she appeared to be gifted in superiority. "I am destined for something other than this floating fortress of solitude, but if the fates are testing me - I'll prove them wrong."

Quicksilver had been sent to Iceland by his Father, mainly because he could get there faster then most other Brotherhood members and also because his Father was busy in America with his little school project...Pietro didn't mind the trip as he enjoyed to travel and Iceland was a beautiful place to go. Apparently his Father's ingenius mutant tracking device Cerebro had come upon another mutant. This infomation had been passed to Pietro by his Father as he wanted the Brotherhood to pick this mutant up before Professor Xavier sent a recruiter out. Sometimes it was a little sad that Charles Xavier was nothing more then Magneto's pawn but that was the way the world worked.
Pietro sped along, he had the location of the woman and was approaching fast and stopped running, coming to a skidding halt a few metres behind her, he managed to hear some of her monologue and smirked, he did enjoy a dramatic entrance. Speaking loudly..and hoping the woman didn't know he was there he said "You are meant for grandness...I'm here to see of it

"And who would you be?"
No one just appeared out of nowhere and made promises, not unless they were some kind of lunatic. Though by the looks of it, Lilija may have just found one. He did not dress like other Icelanders, nor did he speak with their dialect, no, he stood out and by the look on Pietro's face, that was probably exactly what he intended all along.
"If there is anything I've learned, it is never trust a pretty face." A hint that she believed Pietro to be attractive, or perhaps she was messing with him. No way to find out unless he could reads minds, though Lilija only believed him to be a wandering stranger. A stranger with a bit of a mouth on him, which spewed arrogance and confidence like a slobbering canine. "At least not without the right incentives. What can you offer me to, as you yourself claim to be able to do, obtain my greatness?"
Surely the silver-haired speedster would have an answer, and if not he could B.S. his way through. All good recruiters were blessed with that skill, though this could be one of those 'there is a first time for everything' situations.
"Humor me, Fabio.

Pietro smirked, well at least she was willing to hear him out, which is morethen could be said for some people they'd approached. He had the feeling she was trying to keep him off balance a bit. She was wary, that was good. You couldn't afford to be too trusting in the Brotherhood, lots of people wanted to shut you down.
He begun with "First off, my name is Pietro Leshnerr, otherwise known as Quicksilver. I am here because you have been identified as having a specific genetic marker..making you a member of Homosapien-Suprior, or as we're commonly known by the apes...Mutants" He approached at what he would consider a snail-like pace before continuing "Now your powers very well may have manifested by now so I am offering you the chance to join our Brotherhood. A group of fellow...mutants who's task is to look after our interests and facilitate the eventual handing over of power to the new dominant species on Earth"

It wasn't so much being wary as it was using common sense, Lilija had never met this person before. He did not speak like her people, nor did he dress like them; a stranger, that is exactly what he was. But unlike most unknowns she had encountered, the very few who lived on the European island, Pietro had a distinctiveness about him. One in which Lilija found herself drawn to, and possibly intrigued by, though for now she would continue to play it cautionary.
"Lilija." she said, pausing only for a moment to let it sink in. Something told her that with his Eastern European accent, it would not be too difficult for the male to pronounce her name. The same could not be said for those to the West. "It is a pleasure to meet you, I think." So far it was, but that could all quickly change in the blink of an eye.
"Sounds like a mad scientist's scheme if I ever heard one." she responded to the making mutants dominant comment. "But you appear confident. What makes you so sure you can do it?" she asked, a tint of disbelief in her tone. No way this guy really believed he could do what others sought, what others raved and ranted about. "What makes you so special, Pietro Lehnsherr?"

Pietro smiled and inclined his head slightly, he had her name, that was a good start. He could sense that she was at least a little bit interested. Even if she did think it was a mad scheme and in a way it was. 6 billion humans vs...how ever many mutants there were, overthrowing the dominant species was a tough job but he believed they could do it.
He smirked at her, a knowing smirk like when someone gives you a hard question that you already know the answer of "Mainly due to some of our members....esspecially our leader, Magneto. He makes all their weapons nul and void with his magnetic fields...he can destroy war ships and planes with a mere extension of his will, not to mention the fact we still have our own piece of territory in the world...despite the fact it is a little.....under the radar"

Domination. It seemed everybody wanted it, and over someone else. Why couldn't the world learn to work together? Lilija had to wonder, if God was perfect, why then had he allowed man to have ego? Pride would be the downfall of humanity, just like it brought ruin to civilizations gone past; Babylon, Persia, Rome.
"Members?" she asked, brow twitching to show interest. "Are you implying others are actually behind all of this?" Surely not, surely more people had common sense. Though thinking about it, with great power came great arrogance, and Lilija was - at times - no different. "Interesting... but if Magneto is as great as you claim, why then has he sent you for me? This... God must be in dire need, you are here after all."
Deep down Lilija found good about being wanted, but she didn't have to cave in yet. She could have fun.

She seemed surprised that people were willing to fight for their freedom...he was a little disappointed but they had a huge task in front of them and they would undoubtedly be met with some people who didn't believe, He smirked at her and nodded to show people did agree with them.
His face change from one of slight amusment to confused irritation when she asked why Magneto hadn't come himself. Scratching the back of his head he said "Well naturally, the ruler of our country can sometimes be a bit busy....ruling the country and everything, but I am a member of Genosha's ruling council, so you are speaking to a member of authority"

She was more so surprised at people backing this concept of global domination, not so much the freedom aspect. From what Lilija recalled, not many groups sought eradication of a species, just groups here and there. However the human race as a whole was problematic, even if some of it was unintentional. They consumed too much, destroyed wild life, polluted, and were just a burden of governments. Be it mercy or spite, Lilija wanted something done, so Magneto's Genosha and his followers were becoming all the more appealing.
"That would be acceptable." she stated. Though what the Big Man was up to, well, that was probably best left unsaid. But Quicksilver would soon learn, Lilija did not always keep her mouth shut. "This situation still begs the question. Out here, in the middle of nowhere, what is he hoping to achieve by recruiting me?"
Curiosity had been known to kill a cat, but would it also kill her?

This woman was full of questions, they al ways seemed to be. Sometimes it irriated Pietro that they couldn't just accept they were wanted and come along...after all they would need the Brotherhood much more then the Brotherhood would ever need them.
He took a step forward, closing the distance between the two before he'd answer her questions. "Why would we want you? the answer to that question is fairly simple. It is plainly because you are a Mutant and we believe that as a species it is our destiny to rise above our...simpler cousins. So we just want all of our kind together and safe instead of hidden away in the shadows. Would you say that interests you?"

", she paused, thinking of the right word to describe what Pietro had told her. " ... lame, yeah. I mean, unity is fine and all, but you have to want something else." If Pietro wanted to score any brownie points, he'd have to give her the real scoop. Lilija was intrigued and almost willing to pack up and go, but if there was to be any of this mutant uniting, the silver-haired male would have to be upfront and honest with her - even if it meant revealing Magneto's uses for her abilities. " This has been burning in the back of my mind since you first showed up, how exactly did you get here?", she asked. She had already gathered Pietro was a mutant, but what he did exactly she lacked. Maybe he could teleport, fly, or even summon a flock of birds to bring him here. " What kind of power do you have, Mr. Lehnsherr?"[/ul]

Quicksilver raised an eyebrow...lame? the taking of an entire planet by the true master race was lame? well now he thought she was just being difficult on purpous. Testing him maybe, to see if he was serious about recruiting her. He folded his arms behind his back as she asked hhow he got here, she was right in assuming he'd used his powers but there were many travel related powers and in his opinion Pietro had the best of the lot.
Not being afraid to use a little bit of theatrics. In a flash he was standing right next to her with barely a few inches seperating them, he stayed for a few moments so she could recognise his pressence before in a blink he was back where he had been. He smiled slyly and simply said "I can move quite fast"

", she said. " Running away from everything." That wasn't a serious jab or anything, it was just a sarcastic poke. Sure running and moving fast was useful, but it also seemed to be unfair and present its user with a sort of cowardice. But Lilija was not going to judge him for that, just as she hoped others would not judge her for the abilities she was granted at birth. " I can see why you'd need my powers, it'd be a terrible shame if we lost others like you. What about the rest of your little group, what do they do?"[/ul]

Pietro raised an eyebrow at her running away comment, he didn't really think of it like that...after all he was fast in more ways then running, after all in the time it took someone to throw a regular speed punch he could throw...well he wasn't actually sure, he'd not really taken that in to account when in a fight. He had a feeling though that he was being teased a little bit.
He nodded to her when she said about having to use her powers, she then asked about whato thers in their organisation could do, he smiled. Perhaps she was coming around a little bit? "Well, as I've mentioned Magneto, my Father can control magnetic fields...I have a sister who's powers are very similar to that and my twin Sister who can controls probability. We also have an Aerokinetic, a person with the physical characteristics of a frog, someone with a slightly complex telekinetic power as well as a few others...but Genosha is full of mutants with a variety of powers who arn't actually in the Brotherhood themselves."

they needed her powers, as if they weren't needed. Lilija found that amusing how the other mutant just bobbed and darted around answering it, there had to be some kind of reason for it. Still, he was telling her other things about Genosha, the Brotherhood, and himself. " Sounds like you already have enough.", she said. Surely with two people controlling electro-magnetism, another probability, and one as fast as the wind, they did not need the others. Yes they made nice bonus additions, but that seemed excessive. " With that kind of power, what's keeping you from moving out now?" It didn't make much sense, unless Pietro was bluffing or those on Genosha were not as powerful as the world wanted her to believe. Of course on the island of Iceland, the world seemed to forget people lived here, and not much news came. In fact, the locals tended to isolate themselves from the world, and in many regards Lilija appreciated that. Unfortunately Magneto and his band of renegades made too much noise, no way her people could block that out.[/ul]
