Danvers stood in line, waiting for her latter with two sugars to be expertly made by the barista working hurriedly behind the counter. Again, she spent her day off back in her hometown of Boston. It was strange, even though she told herself she wouldn't come back, she consistantly did. Maybe it was just the smell, the atmosphere, that brought back good memories. Well, she figured the best thing about the place was that she knew where the best cafe's and resturants were, and the best shops, for that matter.
She was dressed, ironically, in the same thing she was the day, a week earlier, her and Chance had their 'meeting' at the zoo. The beige summer dress and black leggings, except, she had a black sash around the base of her chest. Her blonde hair was pushed over to the right hand side, and lay over her shoulder. she was nothing short of stunning. She waited for her order, watching the barista work his magic. She really could not wait for this coffee.

Chance was out for some coffee and to look over Halloween costumes for the party he would be attending. He was dressed in black slacks and a dark blue, silk button up. His hair had that 'just out of bed' look as he stepped into the coffee shop. He winked at the younger girl in front of him and then blue eyes scanned the room. It was a pretty damned busy and he resigned himself to being there for quite sometime, when his eyes fell on the blond a few people ahead of him. He knew that body very well. Shit, what was she doing here?
As long as she didn't turn around things should be alright, not like he wouldn't go another round with her, but he really didn't want to make it a habit. The woman might start to think there was 'something' between them, and he really didn't want to have to deal with that.

"Got a latte with two sugars, takeaway." Carol reacted and eagerly grabbed the coffee waiting by the counter. Nodding in appreciation to the barista, she took a sip and the warmth of it seemed to enter her entire body. She let out a cliche sigh before walking down the line. She wasn't exactly looking at the people as she walked past, but she happened to look up at the exact same time as she walked past Chance. She caught his eyes, but immediatley looked away. She slipped a hidden smile, before she decided to see if he'd chase. Deep down, she knew he probably wouldn't, it didn't seem like his style; but why not try anyway? She moved to a nearby table with two seats, she sat down slowly and faced the other direction...waiting.

Chance's eyes met Carol's and he nodded. This was awkward, well not really but yeah. Finally his turned arrived and he ordered his usual. "Thanks, Jordan." He put a ten in the tip jar and started to make his way through the coffee shop. He hadn't had any intention of staying at the coffee shop, he had a costume for a Halloween party to get. He noticed where Carol went and what she was doing. The young man just shook his head and wondered if she really believed he'd play that game. He sipped his coffee as he walked out of the coffee shop. If she wanted to play chase, then she better start running.

Danvers watched out of the corner of her eye as Chance got his coffee, tipped the barista and then made his way out, directly past her. She knew that was coming, but even so, it annoyed her so much that he could just play it so damn cool and act like there wasn't a care in the world. How did this guy remain so collected, calm and cool? She watched as he was getting further and further away, and she sat there anxiously in her seat. She knew that if she didn't move, the sun would set and she would be left in the middle of a cold and lonesome moonlight. The sun was Chance, and he was setting off into the distance.
Damn him...
She quickly got up, taking her coffee with her as she made a fast walking pace to catch up to Chance. She knew she was submitting herself to his games by doing this, and it pissed her off even more that he continued to push her buttons without even trying. Having gotten about 5 paces behind him, she stopped and called to him. "You gonna keep walking and make me chase?" She stood there, waiting for him to reply. Damn, she wanted him to acknowledge her, and it killed her to admit that.

The young man knew she was following him. He knew it to his very core, granted it took her less time than he thought it would, but still. When she asked him if he was gonna keep walking he turned around and looked at her. That devilish grin on his face and bangs over his eyes, he kept walking backwards. "If I keep walking, are you going to keep chasing?" He had only turned so he could see her, he never stopped walking.

She laughed inside at how he was taking advantage of her chasing him. To Danvers, it was like he was juicing the orange and not stopping until he got every last drop of citrus out. Maybe that was why she found him so attractive, or maybe it was she just simply enjoyed having her buttons pushed; as frustrating as it tended to be. "Depends...Do I get anything in return if I catch you?" She smirked, the games beginning once again. Maybe she could put up a bit more of a challenge this time...
(On a comedic side note, I really hope that it is exactly like this when I meet my future wife. Hah!)

Chance arched a brow and smirked at her. "Guess you'll have to catch me to find out." With that he gave her a wink and then jogged across the street right before the light changed. From the other side of the street he blew Carol a kiss and kept walking. This little game of cat and mouse could be quite fun, if she was willing to play that is.

She watched him dart across the street, just as the cars at the opposites lights began to move. The light was red for her and the cars were picking up speed and staying close to each other, not allowing for much space for Danvers to run through. She stood, anxiously, at the side of the road; waiting for the perfect moment. Damnit, she could so easily just fly over them, but that would attract far too much attention to herself.
Instead, she did the reckless thing and darted across the street. Thankfully she was wearing low standing boots and it didn't make it too awkward to run. Instantly she was recieved with the car horns blowing and a couple of screeching of brakes as she rather expertly dodged cars, making it to the other side. Chance would obviously have heard the commotion, but, by the time he would be able to react, she had caught up to him, grabbing his right hand from behind. "You lose." She pulled him around to face her, as she moved her body closer, showing alot more confidence this time. Trailing her finger lightly across his chest, she smirked, hair slightly over her face from her running. "Now, about that reward..."
Edit: Made it a little bit more interesting.

Chance got turned around and an eyebrow went up. "You sure about that? Me losing? I could have easily gotten lost in this crowd, but I took my sweet ass time until you caught up with me. So, me? Lose? Keep telling yourself that." He flicked a glance down at her finger and then smirked as he looked up at her again. "However, you are right, you did catch me so the reward is yours." With that he linked her arm through his and started toward a cafe. "Brunch is on me, I'm starved."

He was a bit of a gentleman about the brunch thing; which didn't really surprise her as he was a sort of gentleman with most of his actions, especially the ones he performed when they went to the room together. "You read my mind." She replied as he led her to a cafe. They sat down and she glanced over the menu slowly, her eyes not leaving the sheet as she continued speaking. "You know, I was at least expecting some kind of note to be left..." She was implying that Chance had left her naked in a bed without any way of contacting him or even just a simple thank you. She wasn't cut, but she was a little disappointed.

As blue eyes scanned the menu and he heard her comment he never even looked up. "Why were you expecting that?" Honestly, they had just had that conversation. Now had they planned to go out and more then likely end up in bed, then he would have waken her and gotten breakfast sent up. But it was a chance (pun only slightly intended) encounter that led to a one night stand. He failed to see where he should have given her anything. Chance was doing mental calculations on the many different ways he could get out of this situation, should she turn clingy.

The waiter moved over to their table, pad in hand as he rehearsed the usual service lines. Carol was the first to give her order, having actually paid attention to the menu whilst she was talking to Chance. "I'd love the French Croissants with Banana and Maple Syrup, thank you." It was a bit of a sweet breakfest, but why not spoil yourself every now and then? Waiting for Chance to give his order, she merely watched him with playful eyes as he rather expertedly handled the waiter.
After he was done, she continued, slowly, but surely. "Look, I know that showing emotion hurts your image and all that...but you can at least have the decency to show your thanks." It wasn't that Carol wanted a thank you, no, that would be weird. She just wanted Chance to slip up and show just the slightest bit of genuine feeling. She wasn't going to turn into a clingy highschool girl, not before she could break down his armour.

Chance waited until she ordered and then ordered a rather large breakfast platter. When she started talking about showing emotion and some sort of stuff he just looked at her. "I don't have trouble showing emotion." He couldn't figure out why she was wanting a thank you. "And how would you like me to show my thanks? Would you have liked my to leave a few hundred on the night stand? It wasn't like we had set up a date and ended up in bed. It was spontaneous encounter between two strangers that ended them up in bed together. You've never had one of those before? Normally, they both part and never see each other again. I didn't think you think it was something more than that." Freaking hell what had he gotten himself into?

She bit her mouth fairly hard. She wanted to abuse him for being a coward for not getting emotionally attatched to anything. Of all the tough guys and cool guys she had met, none of them showed this level of self-righteousness. She wondered if it was even worth it, pursuing anything with him. He was a regular James Bond, all pleasure, no future. "I never said it was anything more than that. But the last time I slept with someone, he had the decency to leave me a note." Sighing, she looked around slowly, watching other people. The games seemed to have stopped, and her confidence had dropped along with it."I just want to know what it is with you, why you don't open up to anyone." She paused again, letting out another sigh, this one a little bit more considerate of Chance's feelings. Raising her head, she followed shortly after. "Forget it, it doesn't matter."
