Ororo Munroe enjoyed working and living at the Xavier Institute for the simple fact that she loved to teach the students. She enjoyed having combat practice with them too better ready them for future events like that horrible massacre that took place in the sewers of New York, she still had nightmares about it. But putting that aside, Ororo continued on with her life as usual. Along with the combat training she occasionally would do some gardening with a few of the students that were interested in that sort of thing. She also served as the English teacher which she enjoyed the most.
Today Ororo had a curriculum set up for her students to learn about the Canterbury Tales. She always enjoyed reading the different stories filled with interesting characters. She sat at her desk reading a small book as she waited for the remaining students to arrive, there were already a few in their seats. She looked over at the students for a moment before standing and walking to the front of her desk, she looked at her watch. "We'll give your classmates a few more minutes before we start with today's lesson."

Just after Kitten entered the class room, Adam did, it would seem he was bumping into her everywhere, first in the Professor's class and now in Ms. Munroe's class. "Hey Ms. Munroe, sorry if I'm late." While Adam knew there was a certain kinship in the Mansion, they were united not just because they all lived in it together, but being Mutants, everyone sort of had a bond, like being part of a group. They were going through the same things, being mutants. It brought a great casualness to things.
Not that it would protect him from Ms. Munroe coming down on his ass if she felt he was slacking in her class, he reckoned.

As people rushed in avoiding being late narrowly Cyclops was sat at his desk, his writing pad open at a blank page and his pens and pencils arranged neatly on his desk. He sat quietly with his hands folded infront of him as people entered. He decided not to tut...as that'd gotten him problems in the past with people.
Picking a blue pen he twirled it in his hand and waited for the lessons to begin. He didn't mind English, there wasn't really much in the way of lessons here he did like due ot the more interesting forms of teaching they had here, it was also interesting that they mixed all different age groups together in some sort of joint learning, but somehow it worked.

Rogue arrived a bit late to class, walking in with her bag strapped over her shoulder and looked over to Storm. "Sorry I'm late Ms. Munro'. Alarm didn't go off this mornin'. Old excuse I know, but it's true. Sorry...."
The southern belle nodded and went over to the desks, taking a seat behind Scott. She took out her note book and pencil prepared to take notes from whatever lesson Storm had to teach them today. Hopefully it would be short one.

Ororo looked to her left as one of her students entered the room, it was the young and energetic Kitten. She gave a warm smile to the girl and shook her head. "No darling, you're right on time. Take your seat now Kitten. " She always enjoyed having Kitten to keep her company with her enthusiastic personality. Kitten could always brighten her day. The next person to enter the room was her Adam Warlock her good ol gardening buddy at times. "Hello there Adam, it's fine." Just as she was about to get the class started, Rogue stumbled into the room giving her an excuse. Ororo shook her head. "Just take your seat Marie."
She looked over her students and let out a sigh. Today was was going to be fun. "Good afternoon class. Today we will be studying the many great stories that make up The Canterbury Tales. I want you all to take out you Literature book and turn to page 380. Are there any volunteers for the first reader?"

Cyclops took his carefully taken care of literature book from his desk and opened it up at the page that read, 'Canterbury tales' this should be an interesting lesson, he quite liked stories, was much better then learning advanced grammer or letter writing like he'd done in other English classes.
When Ms. Munroe asked for volenteers he looked around, he wasn't sure who would volenteer but in his expirience it was rare that many people were willing to put themselves forward. In responce to this he decided to put his hand up. Reading wasn't that bad, and someone had to do it...

Ah, English.
So many people assumed because you were born below the Mason-Dixon Line, you couldn't read. How utterly ignorant, but amusing at the same time. Because of such silly notions upon arriving at the Xavier Institute, Paige had to deal with random remarks about Southern inefficiency. Well, joke would be on them... right after Scott Summers.
"I reckon I'll read next." replied that distinctive Southern drawl, more clarity to it than Rogue, which could be a good or bad thing depending on one's perspective. "Though some'uh these big words'll roll off my tongue as awkwardly as a mole swimmin' in honey mustard soup."
Yeah, it probably wouldn't make sense to anyone else but Husk, but that was the beauty of it. It made her unique, stand out, and more importantly, it allowed her to say things under the radar. Of course she could just be wanting to be a smart ass, but with good intentions.

Adam took out a seat right at the front, people who liked to stay under the radar always say at the back, thinking the distance gave them safety, what those suckers didn't know was that teachers always kept an eye on the people on the back, it was the obvious slacker place to sit! But up front, that was hiding in plain sight!
That being said though, Adam enjoyed English, and with a teacher like Ms. Munroe, well how could you not enjoy the class? When Scott offered to be the first to read, Adam gave a rub of his cheek. Reading should have been his task, no matter, he could go second...but alas, Paige put a word in. Damnations to it all, no matter, he could go third.

Ororo smiled to Scott when he raised his hand first. It wasn't much of a surprise since he was usually first to volunteer for most things. She cracked open her own book, teacher's edition of course, and turned to the correct page to read along. "Alright Scott, begin reading part one of The Knight's Tale. After he's done, Paige will be reading part two." Ororo sat down on the edge of her desk, crossed her legs and waited for her student to begin reading. The Canterbury Tales were an interesting collection of stories that all came together in a way that she liked.

Cyclops cleared his throat and begun to read from the book. He liked reading, esspecially when it was a story rather then just facts and figures, history he could also get in to because that was kind of like a story...just that it actually happened. Did these stories actually happen? or were they just made up, he didn't want to ask just in case he felt stupid but he hoped someone would pluck up the courage to do so.
He thought that this lesson wouldn't be too bad. After all if they spent the whole time reading...that meant it would be pretty easy to say the least, well that was one good thing and as the end of part one slipped from his lips he looked up at Storm and said "There you go Ms Munroe"

[/i] read more and had, but the Internet made things so much easier. However technology had not advanced enough to get beyond the traditional reading in class, which Husk began immediately following Scott. " Ahem! Part Two, the Canterbury Tales...", she began. Obviously reading it all, there were times her dialect got in the way of pronunciation. The words, she knew what they were, but how they came off her tongue indicated otherwise. Oh well, better born a Southerner than a Yank, and that in mind she continued for several minutes until finally reaching the end. " ... whew, reckon I'll be thinkin' twice 'fore volunteerin' 'gin like that." Yeah, this was definitely a tongue number. All that reading, it could make someone's lips fall off.[/font][/ul]

Kitty raced through the halls, her eyes wide with what could be described as terror. Goodness gracious she was late! And wow was she late! She was never late to class, and yet she had managed to lose track of time when doing some other homework for another class. Silly Kitty, she had allowed herself to get behind in another class. Most of the time that didn't happen. Well she could now be seen running, phasing through objects and people left and right.
Finally, she got to the English class, and didn't even stop to open the door, phasing right into the classroom. Goodness gracious, way to go Cat... There were more graceful ways to enter a room. Well there she was, looking alarmed and clutching her books, while the voice of Paige drifted through the air. Kitty plunked down in a seat near the back of the class, really hoping her ungraceful entrance would be left unnoticed.
She placed her book down on her desk and opened it up, hearing what they were reading. Canterbury tales... She at least recognize where they were. She would scan the Table of Contents until she found it, soon opening up to where they were. She shivered a bit, tucking a strand of hair that had fought it's way out of her ponytail. She found herself in a seat nearby Rogue and Scott.
