He scratched the back of his head slightly as he had the feeling he was being teased a little bit...granted here it was always light hearted and he knew no one really meant it. Much better then at home where no one quiet knew what he was...well he supposed now mutants had been outed they knew what he was now.
He felt perhaps it was a good idea to switch subject from the whole...training thing, they knew. That was good enough, something casual maybe...after all it was early in the morning obviously people must've had their days carefully planned out so they could take advantage of the day "So...uh, so what are you guys up to today?"

Penny tilted her head and wondered if they were making Scott uncomfortable with their teasing. She was taking the training seriously but she was scared and nervous about it since she wasn't any good at fighting. The girl worried her bottom lip and looked over at him. "I am taking this seriously. I wanted you to know that, I'm just... nervous." That was putting it lightly since she really didn't have any skills in that area, so to speak. She'd scrap and do her best to fight to the finish, but....
The curly head tilted to the other side at his question. "Not much really. I have some more studying to do but other than that I don't really have any plans. What about you, what are you planning today?" She'd almost bet he planned on training.

Kitty couldn't help but giggle a little. She loved teasing and being playful, it was, in her opinion, one of her better assets. Indeed, she only did it in a loving and lighthearted manner. She never did it to be mean spirited. The team was like a family to her, and she loved each of the members as such. She grinned a bit to Scott, unable to stop it, even if he was being a bit uncomfortable. "Oh don't worry about it Scott, you know we love ya." She giggled a bit and nodded. "Honestly I can't wait to train! I am not always the best at fighting either, but I tell you what, you need to get someone out of a scrape, I'm your girl!" She grinned as she backed up, phasing through the table to make her point, grinning broadly.
She then tilted her head a little as he questioned as to what they were doing with their day. "Oh I don't know either... Like Sunny I've got a heck of a lot of studying to do. I hope to go for a swim later... Maybe go dance for a bit... You know. Typical day without classes." She grinned a bit more, nodding some before yawning and taking a sip of her coffee. "And after being up this early, I just may go take a nap in the middle of the day." She laughed a little and grinned brightly at the idea. She looked over to Sunny and nodded a little in agreement. "Yea, what are you up to today Scott?"

Cyclops nodded to Penny with a smile when she assured him that she was taking it seriously, he knew that all the students did, it was one of those....unfortunate consiquences of being who they were. He was happy the conversation quickly switched over to more relaxed themes. After all this was the sort of stuff they should be talking about. What they'd do with their time off...he had a few things planned but he was free most of the day and the evening.
It had been a while since the X-people had gone out. The last time was a month or two ago where they went to that pizza place with that annoying overly attractive waiter who'd hit on the two girls of the group and left the others to catch up. "Well I'm done with my work out for this morning...so I'll get all washed up, grab some breakfast. Then...hmm, well I'm going to hang with Jean for a bit. Keep her company. I just thought, we've not...y'know. Been out on the town in forever. Maybe we should do something tonight, get a bite to eat or something then...well whatever we can think of."

Penny wasn't surprised that he had a morning work out. She'd be surprised if he didn't do it like everyday. Scotty was a really nice guy who was really gung ho about team work, at least from what she could see. For some reason she really didn't want him to think that she wasn't going to be there for the team, but she was smart enough to know when to not harp on a subject so she just let it slide. It was better to talk about that stuff when the time came, otherwise they'll forget what it is like to be young adults.
A small smile tugged at her lips when he mentioned the girl that she was pretty sure was his girlfriend. Then she perked up at the thought of going to do something. "I'd totally be up for doing something tonight. It's nice to get out once in awhile, you know? So yeah, I'm in. I don't have an overabundance of studying and homework, so I should get that all done and be good to go." The thought of going out made her smile wide. Maybe they could go dancing! She loved to dance.

Kitty couldn't help but grin as she looked from face to face, tilting her head a little bit. Goodness sure she knew Scott was all about the training and being prepared... So it somewhat surprised her that he thought about normality... Though she didn't say a thing. She tilted her head as she thought about the things she had "planned" for today. They weren't really set in stone... Any of them. Yet she was soon pulled out of her thoughts when Scott began to say what he might be up to tonight.
She grinned even wider and she nodded when she listened to Penny and heard her agree with him. "Oh I'm so in too!" She nodded her eyes glittering a bit. Kitty always did enjoy going out. And tonight would be no exception. Like Penny, she was certainly hoping they would end up going somewhere where she could dance. She so loved dancing.

Scott smiled when they seemed enthusiastic about going out, that'd be awesome...he had two people willing to come out on the town with him. They just needed a few more and then everything would be perfect, not that going out with just three people was bad...but when it came to going out with the other students he found it was nice to sort of...blend in a little bit.
Scratching his head he thought to himself what he could do...but he didn't mention it, he wanted everyone to get a say towards the end and besides...he was having a little trouble thinking of anything "That's great...We've not been out in a while, will be a chance for us to relax and take a break from studying and stuff"

Penny couldn't stop the giggle since he seemed to not want to answer. The more she was around these two the more she wanted to get to know them. Well everyone really she thought the night out could be really fun and was excited about it. Penny just hoped other people joined in on the fun as well. "So, Jean is your girlfriend?" She smiled up at Scott and then looks at Kitty. "Do you have a boyfriend?" Maybe she she figure out how to get a camera. That would be cool and then she could start scrapbooking and have a scrapbook of their times out of Xavier's. Oh dear God must she make everything an art project? "Anyway, going out sounds really fun and I can't wait. There's so much to do out there. Think they have the ice skating at Rockerfeller Center yet?" It's one of those iconic movie places for anything Christmasy and winter. Ice skating at Rockerfeller Center.

Kitty grins broadly as Scott agrees with them. She thought briefly about who else would want to come before grinning a bit. "Maybe we could get Bobby to come!" She nodded, but then blushed a little, trying not to seem too overly eager. "And Kurt and... Yea." She blushed all the more falling silent, grinning sheepishly. She was not sure where she wanted to go either, and honestly her face was bright pink still from her slight outburst. She grinned a little as Penny started talking, and she nodded a bit as she asked Scott about Jean being his girlfriend. But when the attention turned to her, she blushed a bit more, shaking her head some. "Nope... You?" She grinned shyly, but was suddenly thankful when Penny changed the subject to where they should go. "Oh I hope so! Ice skating sounds wonderful!" She really hoped her little outburst would go unnoticed, but it likely wouldn't...

Scott blushed a deep crimson when Penny asked about Jean...it's not that he was embarrased about having a girlfriend, after all why would he? having a girlfriend was the best thing that had happened to him...well apart from the whole being rescued from living life with his eyes forcibly shut but that led in to the whole getting glasses and then a girlfriend....thing.
Luckily the spot light shifted from him on to Kitty and she blurted out something to do with Bobby Drake...Ice Man? really? he didn't really see the appeal, well maybe as a guy he wasn't really supposed to but in any case he voiced his question to Kitty "Bobby....really? we are talking about Bobby 'wears trousers so low they're around his knees and spends his days creating ice monuments to himself' Drake...right?"

If she hadn't stopped herself, Penny would have been clapping in delight. They were both blushing which meant they either did have someone or they wanted to have someone. She was grinning from ear to ear now and just shook her head when Kitty asked if she had someone. She giggled at Scott's description of Bobby and since she really didn't know him that well she couldn't determine if it was true or not. But she was most curious as to how Kitty was going to react. "So, Kitty likes Bobby, and you like Jean. Then they have to be invited." She herself didn't really know anyone here well enough to 'like them' yet.

Piotr had been up the entire night working in the art studio. His most recent painting was finally completed and secured away. Piotr had little confidence in his abilities at the moment and wasn't comfortable with letting the others seeing his work, especially considering the subject matter since it had been Magneto's attack that had inspired his newest work. Despite the fact that his hands, white muscle shirt and blue jeans all bore numerous marks, dabs and swipes from his paint brushes that he accumilated through out the night he found that the hunger in his stomach was too great to ignore.
As he walked into the kitchen he saw that three other members of the Institue already there.
"Greetings comrades," he said with his accented English as he walked over to the sink to wash his hands before finding something to eat.

Well he supposed Jean would come, eventually he would've invited her when he saw her. He was going to say something to that effect when Piotr walked in. As he was covered in small splotches of paint as Scott was used to see him at this time and he suspected that once again he'd gone through the night with out sleeping.
As he walked past Cyclops nodded to the large Serbian "Hey Pete...how you going? been up painting again?" it was a bit of an obvious question...guy comes down in the morning covered in paint, what do you think he's spent the night doing?

Kitty was quite the cute shade of red at this point... She hadn't admitted aloud her attraction to the Iceman... She wasn't even exactly sure she understood it herself... And as she listened to Cyclops speak of him, she shook her head a bit. "Now Scott he's not all like..." She thought about it and winced a little before nodding. "Ok so he is... But yea! I-I hope he'll come." Ok that was it... When Penny announced that she liked Bobby, something that she was unintentionally hinting at, she turned scarlet. "I-I ah... yea..." She blushed not saying much, but stuttering just a bit. "You won't tell him will you?" She turned even more pink.
Thankfully Piotr made his way in. She grinned broadly as she saw him. Goodness just the distraction she needed. Sure enough, Cyclops seemed just as sheepish, well maybe almost... As she did. But he was dating Jean, so why should he... But goodness she wasn't even dating the boy, just liking him... Well thankfully that topic would hopefully be over. "Hey Piotr!" She said happily, grinning to him. She surveyed the paint upon his hands and clothes and grinned. Yup... He had been painting again. She really wanted to see his work, but he never seemed to show anyone... For now she remained silent on that, merely smiling and watching what went on in the kitchen, taking another sip of her now cooled coffee.

Penny grinned at the two. It was so sweet, one with a girlfriend and one with a crush. She wondered if she would ever be in that position. She looked up when the big man came in. Well she gathered his name was Peter, or Piotr, or... Was Peter English for Piotr? Oh it was English for it, she registered the accent. This one she hadn't met yet so she waited to see how the other two reacted. It became clear that he was a friendly sort so she took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Hello, I'm Penny. I'm new here."
