Paka Kande - Mother
Nasha Kande - Sister
Height:
5'1" / 155 cm
Weight:
100 lbs. / 45 kg
Appearance:
Skills:
- Piracy, which pretty much means she knows the basics of modern day pirate tactics. Everything from the use of firearms, rockets, and various blades to swinging on ropes and looting. She's a pretty mean sailor and boat builder, too.
- Leadership, and not the sit down and strategize kind either. Nadifa's leadership abilities come in the form of inspiration by action, and for her never willing to accept defeat or anything less than what is deserved. She can push a group to action by sheer will power alone, or so far has been able to do back home.
- Street Fighting, and not like the games either! Nadifa is able to fight, but has no particular style or championship level expertise. Though not to be considered a fighting machine, she is effective enough in defending herself and others.
- Languages, nothing fancy here really. Due to her need to be able to negotiate with hostages and various countries near the Horn of Africa, Nadifa is capable of speaking the following languages: English, French, Arabic, Hebrew, aside from the dialects and lingo of surrounding African countries. She knows enough German and Russian for a brief conversation, and is nominally educated in Hindi. The Asian languages, particularly Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, remain very foreign to her.
This is only because of her need to speak the languages because of her craft, and if it wasn't for the hundreds of pirates near her, she'd have barely mastered the formal mannerism of her own native tongue.
Personality:
Nadifa can be described in one word: bubbly.
Despite her being a part of a rag-tag and ruthless bunch of pirates, Nadifa has maintained a rather silly and unpredictable personality that heavily conflicts with the code of piracy. Fortunately for her, Nadifa's remarkable mutant abilities keep her from being made to walk the plank (figuratively, of course), as they grant her particular band an edge over other competing groups. This sort of special treatment gives Nadifa confidence and appreciation galore, which only enhances the bubbly personality at her core!
Having no formal schooling but first hand experience and second hand lectures, Nadifa is not as scholarly as others but more than makes up for it with street smarts and common sense. Yes, as cliche as this sounds it is true, she knows how to handle herself and survive but prefers not to. That sort of life is boring and really brings out the grumpy in her, which is another side of Nadifa's personality.
When her bubbly personality is popped, Nadifa can become somewhat pouty and playfully childish ala grumpy. Being rasied the way she was, Nadifa rarely becomes a selfish brat which means any attitude she may experience is temporary and a means of playing. Her fits tend to include arms crossing, tongue being stuck out, and making silly noises or repeating what is being said to her in a mocking tone. Only when she is pleased will she stop and become her energetic self, again.

The Mutant
Codename:
Hooligan
Mutant Abilities:
- Biokinesis: This ability allows Nadifa to manipulate her own body at a molecular level, but only hers. She cannot manipulate or take control of another human being, which only makes her gift useful for herself. This would make her gift less biokinetic and more self-biokinetic.
Her body emits a bio-electrical charge that allows her to stretch, shift, or liquify her entire body. At the moment her reach is only 50 feet (15.24 m), while her ability to shift her body is nothing more than articles of clothing. In due time she hopes to increase her range and perhaps do more with her shifting. This same charge also grants Nadifa accessibility to liquifying her body into a puddle of either liquid or a mud-like substance, allowing her to make quick escapes or perform espionage.
Nadifa's molecular control of her body also grants an impressive healing factor, ensuring she can survive practically anything. Such is her control that if blown apart, her body - in the millions of pieces - would come together until she reformed. She does not feel pain.
Finally, and most interestingly, Nadifa is able to absorb objects or people into her body; 300 lbs. (16.08 kg) at one time, this is roughly two people. While she does not gain their powers or talents, she will be able to hear and know their thoughts until she releases them or they escape themselves. This is most useful for temporarily disposing of opposition, hording riches, or to transport a wounded comrade. This works by breaking down the object she takes in, then putting it back together upon release. Those inside feel nothing.
Weaknesses:
- Biokinesis: There are several limitations to Nadifa's ability, such as her limited range of only 50 feet (15.24 m) when stretching, and her shifting being only articles of clothing. These are evident, but the healing factor also has its setbacks, such as:
Excessive use of force will eventually prevent her healing factor from working, as too much effort will wear the body down and possibly knock her unconscious so the body can begin emergency repairs. Also, she can drown or pass out due to a lack of oxygen. So throw her into space or dunk her under water, Nadifa can die.
In terms of absorption, Nadifa can only hold 300 lbs. (136.08 kg) inside at one time. Any more, her body would break a part to get rid of the excess weight. This means throw stuff at Nadifa, her body will absorb it, and too much will force her to release it.
Most importantly, her abilities only work on herself. She cannot alter anyone else's body, heal them, or take any form of control.
Education: Nadifa never went to any sort of school, so what she knows was learned or taught from another. In other words, she cannot do anything beyond simple addition in terms of Mathematics or read incredibly big words. She naturally has a more difficult time in any structured environment geared towards learning, as she feels out of place and so far behind others. However she does want to learn, but at the same time detests it.
History:
Nadifa Maha Kande was born in Berbera, Somali at the northwestern tip of the country located in the Horn of Arica. Her early life was nothing remarkable until Nadifa's father, unable to pay off a debt to Somali pirates, sold his daughter to pay off his cohorts. Not until she was 13 would Nanji Kande see his daughter again, and by that time she was rather indifferent to the situation that had happened.
Nadifa's life with the pirates was best compared to cheap labor, just a step up from slavery. She was asked to prepare and fix meals, clean the ship, and steal. You know, typical womenly things for the fairer sex to indulge in. This routine began when she was six, and as she got older was increased to more tasks. Nadifa sometimes wonders if she was working as an infant! But she did her job as was expected, it was the only life she knew and could remember.
Was she raped? Fortunately no, she worked hard and earned respect. Her mutant abilities to come in the future almost guaranteed she would never be touched in such a manner.
Was she abused? Somewhat, if you count the ridiculous amount of labor asked to be done from her for very little pay. Most of said pay which came in the form of a single meal, and a single gold coin. Not much to live on, but enough for Nadifa not to consider it abuse.
Did she care? Sadly, no. This was the only life she knew and grew up in, so it was as natural as say a midtown American kid playing baseball.
At the age of 13 Nadifa, who was now considered a part of the crew but not a total equal, took part in a pillaging raid on her home. Unable to remember her father, Nadifa had no quarrels with stealing from him. Even after Nanji was recognized as her father by Nadifa's comrades, she could only thank him for allowing her the exciting life of an adventurer. She did not show hate or contempt, something so many would have done in her situation. Instead she gave back some of the gold she'd pillaged in gratitude and vanished, and with a smile on her face since then.
In the year to follow her father's identity, Nadifa's mutant abilities surfaced during an open sea engagement with a French cruise ship. Taking action by boarding the ship, the Somali bandits were met with French soldiers on board who slaughtered 30 of the 250 man (and woman!) crew. It would have been 31 if not for Nadifa's mutant gene that decided to kick in, saving her life and allowing the girl to flee. Because of her survival, the pirates began to view her as more than a tool for their pleasure but rather an intricate advantage over other pirates in the area.
This is when Nadifa's life took a higher turn, and when her bubbly persona came out. During this time, the self-granted nickname of Hooligan was embraced as an appropriate means of describing her.
Unable to feel pain or experience death, Nadifa became a reckless bundle of joy in the abundance of confidence received by her newfound talents and in-awe crew. However her days on the Seven Seas would come to an end, as news of the Genosha attack reached the world, Nadifa decided to toss in her swashbuckling for a chance at saving the world.

Yeah, it was happening. And you were all going to hear it, a pirate - a real life pirate - was raiding the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. How did this happen? Why was it happening? And where the hell did a pirate ship come from, and what in the world could explain the vessel moving across the lawn?
Nothing, that is what!
"We's be gettin' the treasure, arrr!," exclaimed the leader of the rag-taggers, a certain pirate by the name of Nadifa Maha Kande, 16, and already the Queen of the Seven
Ka-BOOM~!
Got to love those cannons, she thought while a grin formed across Nadifa's lips. "Hehe~!," she giggled. "You'll all see the wrath of Captain Awesome herself, Hooligan! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's me!"
Ka-BOOM~!
Another explosion, and already the X-Mansion's walls were coming down. Pathetic, was this the best they had? Clinging to a rope, this was all she could ask herself as she swung down, sword in teeth, and target spotted - treasure.
"Aaaaaah HA! There it is, and it's all mine! C--..."
B'riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing~!!!
8:00 AM sharp, time for class, and for a certain Somalian to feel the agony of never finishing her dream. This explained the pirate ship on the front lawn.
"WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY?!," she exclaimed, both hands pressing against the sides of her head, which was now rotating in a circular motion as tears - of frustration - streamed down her face. "I WAS SO... CLOOOOOOOOSE!"
That damn alarm clock and it's flashing eight-zero-zero, it was to blame. So naturally Nadifa did what she had to do, she smacked it off the counter and laughed defiantly.
"Haha! You are no match for me you stupid clock! I a--...," she exclaimed before falling face first into the floor. Obviously in her excitement Nadifa had forgotten she could not step across on air, and that her bed was not wide enough for a brisk walk.
"CURSE YOU, GRAVITY!"[/ul]
Player: "Blink"
Any plans in mind for the character? I like having a multi-national band of characters for one. Secondly, I think it'd be fun to have an actual pirate running around. Thirdly, I wanted another student before going with a teacher later on, which I originally planned for my fifth character. Finally, we need more non-white people.
