++Application for Enrollment++
The Person
Name: Regan Wyngarde
Age: 27
Place of Birth: Unknown, Most likely Boston, Massachusetts
Applying too: Genosha
In what capacity: Member of the Brotherhood
Family: Jason Wyngarde (father, Mastermind), Martinique Wyngarde (half-sister, Mastermind II)
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 133 lbs
Appearance:
Skills:
Marksmanship: Regan carries around a pair of customised black Stainless Pro Raptor II handguns in holsters an a belt on her uniform. She apparently has some sort of experience with them and knows how to use them properly and effectively. Regan uses these weapons and possibly others when they appear to be needed.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: Another skill that Regan has apparently obtained is hand-to-hand combat. Though this ability is at about the same level of mastery as her marksmanship skill, Regan can complete some basic attack and defense maneuvers and knows a bit about tactic used in hand-to-hand conflicts.
Personality: Utter class and perfection are just two things that could describe Regan’s overall disposition in life. She was born to the likes of the original Mastermind, which already immersed her into the life of a Hellfire Club Member, but she also has joined the Brotherhood and attempts to make a way for herself in life. Regan likes for things to be effortless and perfect, just like her illusions, and may even take the time to alter things to her liking, through the use of illusions and/or regular methods of negotiation and persuasion. However, this can lead to her seeming as if she has a hidden agenda or actually having a hidden agenda.
Regan also has shown a tendency to be a careless brat that gets just about anything she pleases. Due to the fact that she can fool just about anyone, at least for a certain amount of time, and can make people bend to her will, Regan has turned into the quintessential brat. She tries to get what she wants, how she wants it and when she wants it. There is no time wasted if she feels she needs something and will go as far as to gracefully create an illusion and try to get what she wants the “cheating” way. She is also quite careless, as she believes that nothing will go wrong with her and her lifestyle or her illusion usage.
As being described as exuberant and somewhat sociopathic, Regan doesn't disappoint with an almost endless energy that she projects day and night. She is normally lively as possible and lives for excitement and energetic events. This is why she doesn't mind doing things related to mutant activities or that are out of the ordinary. And of course, she may use illusions to make things more interesting. Sociopathic tendencies shown by Regan are composed of things like disregard of people's feelings and lack of conscience, at times.
Regan's personality can change rather quickly. She could be happy one moment, depressed the next and ferocious the moment after that. This unpredictability of how she might react to something said to her or anything else is a rather dangerous trait; because Regan may end up overreacting and using her ability to "back up" her position or just harm whoever pissed her off.

The Mutant
Codename: Lady Mastermind
Mutant Abilities:
Telepathic Illusions: Lady Mastermind possess the mutant power to project extremely convincing and realistic illusions into the minds of others, a stronger variation of the same ability her father had.
Her illusions are hypnotic, and her victims tend to accept them as fact, even when the images and scenarios they are confronted with involve sudden changes to the world around them, or are inconsistent or improbable (for example, Rogue, when under Lady Mastermind's control did not question the sudden existence of a multitude of Vargases, or the random jumps in location and time she was experiencing). As such they can be used as a very effective brainwashing tool. In addition, unlike her father, both Regan and her half-sister Martinique have limited telepathic abilities that enable them to read their foes minds and make their illusions all the more accurate for it. Regan's illusions have also been shown to persist even after she has been rendered unconscious.
Psychosomatic Symptoms: Regan's powers can also kill, as her victims bodies respond as if her illusions are real. She confronted Viceroy with the illusion that he was drowning, and believing it to be real, he suffocated, despite having no physical injuries and being in a room with sufficient oxygen. Heather Cameron's body also responded in a similar way, bleeding through the pores in her back when she was under the illusion she had been stabbed. Also, her illusions can put target in a coma-like state, by telepathically putting her enemies' minds in a maze in which there's no escape, or trapping her victim's mind.
Telepathy: In addition, Regan has limited telepathic abilities, as stated previously, that enable her to read their opponent's mind and make her illusions all the more accurate for it. This ability is currently limited.
Powers and Explanations Source
Weaknesses: Despite the fact the Regan's illusions are supposed to be more effective, personal and realistic than those created by her father, they are still illusions and there is the possibility that someone, perhaps a psychic or someone with enhanced senses, could maneuver her illusion and make her power, or at the least her current illusion, seemingly useless.
The unpredictable personality and provoking of anger can cause certain consequences for Regan and others. Though she knows how to use her powers, Regan isn't necessarily in complete, conscious control of them, meaning that she could let anger get the best of her and drive her to use her power to harm someone else or not consciously do something to someone.
Regan has physical and mental weaknesses, just as any other human. Due to her human structure, a myriad of things can be inflicted on Regan to cause pain and/or injury and this requires her to be just as careful as any other person would have to be to avoid injury.
Arrogance is another something that can end up being a problem for Regan. She already believes that she is better than most people and that can cause her to underestimate opponents, in both academic, athletic and combat situations. This can also lead to her outwardly showing her pride in situations, which can pull her attention away from what she was supposed to do and end up giving her a disadvantage.
History: Although Regan Wyngarde was the daughter of Jason Wyngarde, better known as Mastermind, both her mother and her had no knowledge of this and Regan was simply under the impression that her mother had simply been left by her biological father and replaced the absence with a man who could serve as a father and make both her mother and Regan happy. And the step-father did just that. Despite the fact that her mother wasn't the most fortunate woman, she had managed to find a man who was willing to marry her, child and all, and who retained a good amount of wealth, at least enough to support the entire family. Her mother's situation before the marriage had allowed Regan, who was then five years old, see the poverty stricken side of society and it was enough for her know that she never wanted to end up in that situation again.
Through her elementary school career, the young Regan began to develop a sense arrogance. She felt as if she was considerably more intelligent than the other children in her classes, whether that was fact or just her pride developing is arguable but she was a rather precocious and intuitive individual. Even though Regan realized that she was at a higher intelligence quotient than other students, she figured that her mother and father would simply place her into a class or school with more work and stuff along an school path if they were to find out, so she tried vigorously to maintain a 'C' or 'B' average and occasionally bring home an 'A'. Her plan was flawless for the majority of her school career, however, when the time came for college searches and application, she had to up the anty and work to her fullest potential.
After applying for colleges and receiving her acceptance letter to Columbia University, Regan bid her parents farewell and headed off to New York City and college life. New York City was a marvel for the first month or so and college was no problem for the first couple month, but the stress and other pressures began to settle in as the seventeen year old Regan Wyngarde strived to keep up with the work and tasks presented to her at school and in the every day world. Though she truly couldn't heap anything else onto her workload, the need for other items that would make her life a bit easier proved to go hand in hand with a job, so the only logical thing was to search for a reasonably paid job that required little to do.
Hellfire Club. Positions Needed. The four words that seemed to have changed her life. All the other jobs that she had applied for hadn't exactly fit her desired job description and clearly fate had lead her to the last probable place that she could probably work at. With a few prompts and other processing, Regan soon became a member of the Hellfire Club "family", working as a waitress.
During this time, pressures and stress from both school, work and everyday life led to the, somewhat late, manifestation of Regan's telepathic illusion-based powers. Like many other mutants, Regan couldn't fully control her new abilities at first. They were more controlled at a subconscious level, so things that she wanted others to believe or wanted to happen to others would be translated from her thoughts to a more active form, an illusion. Over a month or so, Regan began to develop control and advancement of her abilities.
Though Regan did her absolute best to keep her new competence a secret, she noticed that certain parts of her life were beginning to be a bit out of the ordinary. One place in particular was giving her the most suspicion, the Hellfire Club. The normal treatment that Regan was given, was different somehow, and she was treated closer to an equal than usual. Of course, she just figured perhaps her powers were acting up and were being subconsciously controlled, however that wasn't the case. Regan was pulled from her duties one day and was taken to see a few of the Inner Hellfire Club members. Apparently, through the use of telepathic probing and such, they were able to find out that she was a mutant, as well as the powers she had, and were planning to 'promote' her.
Without a moment of thought put towards the promotion idea, Regan accepted and was titled 'Lady Mastermind'. And her first job was to be concerning an assassination type job. After the Inner Circle's leader explained how she should execute her job and briefed on other information, she was sent off to Australia. After lollygagging and 'vacationing' for a couple of days in her destination, Regan tracked down Miles Warbeck, who also went by the name Viceroy, through the use of her powers and members of the criminal underground in Australia. Within a matter of hours, Regan found her target and murdered him through psychosomatic drowning. No fingerprints were left. No evidence could point to her client. Her job was done.
The one issue was the children that her target had, apparently they were mutants and they presented a slight difficulty, but soon disappeared after Regan's attempt at holding the daughter of Viceroy captive was thwarted by the son of Viceroy. With them out of the way, Regan packed her bags and headed back for the United States. A report was given on her performance and she was promptly given her paycheck, she was an official assassin for the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle.
Regan's employment with the Hellfire Club came to an abrupt end due to several factors, one of which happened to be the sudden yearn to find her father, the original Mastermind. She began using the resources that were available to her, but nothing was showing up any results. Upon being approached by the leader of a mutant state, Magneto, and offered a membership with the Brotherhood, Regan figured that she could continue her trail there. Her father appeared to be a coward and the place that a coward would go to live at was a place where they wouldn't stand out, i.e. with people like them, and somewhere they could start a new.
After being transported to the mutant state of Genosha, Regan settled into her new surroundings and began looking for her father.
History Add on: Despite the Brotherhood's loss in Washington D.C. and the rise of the Friends of Humanity, Regan remained a loyal member of the Genoshan team. Five years didn't seem to be that long amount of time due to the events that littered the media and made themselves evident in everyday life. The demands of the FOH and the growing hate for mutant kind were a bother for her, just as it probably was for other mutants, but she simply retorted with hit-and-run attacks against the organizations perpetuating the campaign against mutants.
The rise of Apocalypse, just as it affected the rest of the world, affected Regan to a lesser degree. Though Genosha was destroyed along with several other parts of the world, Regan did not mourn the loss of the island nation or being shaken up by the events that transpired and, instead, took the time to help in any efforts for mutants in places of destruction or run periodic terrorist attacks against the armies of Apocalypse. Her loyalty to the Brotherhood and the royal family remains.
RP Sample:
...Incompetence. It is one of my biggest pet peeves and people always seemed to be able to be incompetent when I don't need them to be. One of those people, the one whom probably drove me to hate ineptitude, is my father, the great coward Mastermind. The man didn't even have the nerve to support my mother and I, as he rightfully should have, or eventually make me aware of his own existence and make the effort to meet his daughter, see how I had grown.
"Perhaps that was a little harsh."
Placing the pen back to the starting point of her last sentence, Regan pulled the pen across the words that formed the sentence. There was no reason to disrespect her father that personally, perhaps he would have a good reason for his previous actions and, consequently, would deserve several apologies from her, due to previous discourteous statements made about her father. Despite the fact that Regan wasn't one to normally want to be wrong, she was willing to set that aside because she wanted her father to not be the person that she perceived him to be.
Regan pulled her pen from the paper and stared at her work for a moment. The entire diary entry was filled with her thoughts about joining the Brotherhood and what would be held in store for her in Genosha, though she hadn't been planning on staying for long at first. Perhaps she could start a new and not deal with the stresses and worries of the world she had just departed, not to mention meet her biological father and probably give him a piece of her mind.
Sighing, the re-employed Lady Mastermind leaned back and let her torso, head and arms all fall back in a single motion. The bed beneath her felt undeniably soft and comfortable. Though there were probably a few things that she was going to have to get used to, but the lushness was something that she would have no issue adjusting to. Regan spent a few moments on the bed before pulling herself back up, to the point that she was resting on her forearms and elbows, and looking back at her diary and then to the door.
"Perhaps this is too lush..."
Regan muttered to herself as she relieved the pressure on her arms and sat up completely. It was supposed to be somewhat like a joke, but her own voice and reaction wouldn't have made that clear if anyone else happened to hear her or were in the room. She soon stood upright and glanced to the right. Her uniform lay on a chair, facing a desk, and her handguns rested on the desk. Then Regan's blue eyes darted to the left and noted that the sun was in mid rise and the time was probably coming upon that of the afternoon.
"I suppose it's never too early to continue to hunt..."
Referring to her father, Regan walked over to her uniform and lifted it from the chair. She wouldn't need her handguns, at least as long as everyone in Genosha was mentally sound and those who weren't were under some sort of watch and care. She then sauntered over to and into the bathroom, hoping to initial her new beginnings with finding her father.
