He smiled and while she was slamming back drinks he slowed his pace down. He wasn't sure, but he wanted to have his mind about him tonight. Don't ask him why he would usually be just as happy to get wasted with her. Romantic, was that his problem? He wasn't sure, but right now he couldn't find a better word for it. So he just decided to let it go with that for now. He toasted with her and shook his head as she slammed back the stronger drink. "I promise no lectures about mixing your booze with liquor tonight Amber." Sipping from his drink he poured her another and refilled his to make it look like he was keeping up with her. He felt sorry for her if she kept to this pace she was going to have one hell of a hangover in the morning.
He actually finished that glass sometime around when the bottle was half empty, looking over at his companion for the night he was kinda worried about her. She seemed to be really working herself into one helluva bender, and he wasn't sure if he was the right guy to be here with her, but he was here, so for now he would have to do.

Amber didn’t even notice that he wasn’t really drinking with her. But then had she realized it she couldn’t blame him. He was probably thinking she’d straddle his ass and try to get into bed with him. That’s not what she was looking for at least not yet. Actually, drinking tends to make her want to have fun, but not sex. At least as far as she knew, since she’d never gotten drunk with a guy who wanted to try something with her. She’d just end up turning on the music and dancing around the room. He’ll get a good laugh before she passed out completely. At least he wasn’t lecturing her she was going to have a hell of a hangover, she didn’t need to start it now.
The young woman jumped up and turned on the radio. Then she looked over at him. ”Wanna dance? We didn’t get to at the club. Cross my heart I’m not gonna try anything I just need to do….. something.” The just sitting there was starting to make her fidgety and she needed to do something. Hell she’d settle for jumping on the bed if she could guarantee she wouldn’t fall off of it.

Standing up he bowed from the waist and smiled. "It would be my pleasure." He chuckled as he moved with her to a clear spot and he had to laugh at the idea of this cause it was something he wasn't too sure about. He knew she was graceful when sober, but how would she be during a full rip roarin bender? He decided the best course of action would be to wait it out and see what happens.
Finishing his drink probably his last of the night he chuckled as he turned to her. "Alright since we didn't at the club lets enjoy some fun right now."

Amber looked up at him and smirked. ”I’m not drunk enough to screw up dancing. I’ll need a few more before that happens. But I think I’ve reached my limit. Not really worth getting that wasted over are they? Do you want a slow song or a fast one?” She’d paused the music when he actually got up to dance with her. She really hadn’t thought he would, but she was glad he did. She was going to let him pick the music not sure how if he would be uncomfortable or not with a slow song and knowing how fast a situation can develop or deteriorate if they weren’t careful. She liked him well enough and thought he was a great friend so she didn’t want this to go awkward for him.

Thinking about it he smiled softly as he looked over at her. "Got any jazz?" He chuckled not sure if she would. If she did, he really thought that he would stand a better chance of keeping up with her. "I don't know, any reason to get a bit wasted with a friend is a good reason." he chuckled a bit as he looked over at her. He walked over to her to see what she had, just out of curiosity's sake that is. Looking over and deciding that if she did there really wouldn't be enough room he pushed the table and chairs back and actually pushed the couch out of the way, which gave them just enough room for a little bit of fun.

Blue eyes looked up at his request and she smirked a bit. ”More than likely, music is the one thing I can guarantee to afford, so I buy a lot of different types. I never know what mood I’ll be in and I hate not having what I’m craving to here. But I’ll look.” She watched as he moved the furniture and she went rummaging. ”Meh… You miss all the fun when you get that drunk and it’s no fun getting that drunk alone. Here I got five will any of them work?” She hands him over the five cd cases.

Looking over the titles he grins as he hands her back the first two. Dropping the bottom three he chuckles. "Those two are pretty good for not knowing the music very much, and the last three are just junk." He winked as he waited for her to get the music going. He judged how high the roof was and figured that a lot of his high fly moves were going to be out of the question right now, unless they wanted to dance on their knees. Which might be funny, but not a lot of fun.

”Like I said, the one thing I can afford and will buy most anything.” She put one of them in and set the others aside and then looked at him. Not quite sure what they going to do but for some reason Candyman and Zoot Suit Riot ran through her head. ”So you gonna teach me to swing dance?” It was something she’d wanted to learn but never had the chance. It always looked like fun and people tended to stand back and watch as others did it. Her being one of the ones to stand back and watch.

Smiling he raised an eyebrow loving to be figured out early he moved quickly and stood in front of her with his feet spread about shoulder width apart. A little boy smile on his hands when the music hit so did he. He started by showing her the basic steps first and not going too fast, which made him look a little retarded, but as she seemed to get more familiar with the steps he started to speed it up, but he kept to the basics of the Fox Trot. "hope you are enjoying yourself."

The girl was grinning like a fool and it had nothing to do with the alcohol she consumed. It was the fact that she was having more fun then she had in a long time. She giggled a bit as he showed her the steps and she picked them up rather quickly. ”A blast, how about you?” She was hoping he was having fun if his grin was any indication. They have both been working fairly hard and it was nice to just chill out for a bit. It was nice to not be hurting for a bit too.

To answer her question he decided it was time to pick up the pace a bit. Hooking her left elbow with his right he swung her behind his back catching her behind the knees with his left arm and swinging her back around. Smiling he winked at her as he went back to the fox trot. "A riot my dear. An absolute riot." he winked as he stepped back to the table and took another sip, but odd he always felt looser after a bit of liquor.

Amber let out a surprised squeak when he did what he did but she laughed as well. Again she went back to foxtrotting with him. She was having a blast. When he moved to get a drink she got one for herself. ”I’m glad you are having fun. So am I. Thanks. “ She leaned her hip on against the table and grinned at him. ”What other kinds of music and dancing do you like? I Salsa, the real Salsa not this club and ballroom bullshit.” Not that she minded the ballroom version but it was so stuffy it took away what the dance was really meant to do.

Shaking his head after his drink he looked right at her and winked. "Just forms of dancing I'm sure very few of your generation will enjoy." He winked as he leaned back, he thought about it, and wasn't really sure if he should let them continue to dance like this. Cause in his opinion and personal experience too much dancing always built up a thirst, and this thirst could only be quenched by way too much liquor, and when those two things mixed, it always leads to the bedroom. Which he might like Amber, he didn't think that was right so he would dance just for a little longer and then beg off for an old injury that would do good.

Amber sipped her drink and looked at him. There was a small smirk on her face when she pictured the old soul that was Alex dancing a waltz. ”Maybe dancing isn’t such a good idea, can get fairly dangerous if one is careful.” The girl wasn’t stupid, next to sex or sometimes even more so, dancing can be extremely potent. Alex wasn’t the right guy to dance with if one thought about it that way. She slid up onto the table that was holding their drinks and took another sip. ”What brought you here to the school anyway?” She couldn’t remember if they had covered that in their first meeting.

Smiling he loved the fact that the girl was fast on the uptake when it came to physical problems. He thought about her question and couldn't remember if they covered this the first time they met and if they did how much of the truth he told her. "In my former profession I kinda buried the mutant part of my being down, don't get me wrong I learned how to activate it and control it by trial and error. But when I decided my time was done, I decided it was past time to figure out what I was and what my place in this world really was." Looking at her he smiled softly, he knew it sounded a bit cheesy, but it was the truth.
