Amber had taken on a bit of an undertaking, but she had all confidence that she would be able to get the job done. Four nights a week she was going to a local tech college to get her certification in medical assistant. If she can get through that then she might try for a nurse's license. Maybe. But as it stood she had enough on her plate without worrying about the future. Besides this would help better with her healing capabilities anyway. At least that was what she chose to believe. So, here she was nearly one in the morning working on homework.
She was still felling the effects of healing a couple of the students and her coffee had gone cold. Right now she was just worried about betting through her Anatomy homework. This was going to be a long night but she was ready for it. Once she got into a routine she would be a lot better off.

Knocking on the door he waited to hear a response. He was here cause there was something just getting to him. He kinda wondered about the night out that they had recently. It was late, but he figured since her light was still on then maybe he could get to know about this violet haired woman stuck in his brain all the time. He pulled his hair back and was holding a bottle of fine whiskey that he figured would be a good way to help loosen her tongue and brain for more information. He to the day he dies will not be able to tell why he was locked onto this mode of thought, but for some reason he just couldn't stop. He knew what his old friends would say, mostly about him going soft after leaving the military.
He couldn't believe he was coming to Amber who seemed to have her own relationship attempts already going, so he was getting no where on learning more about her, but he was just hoping he could learn something to let him sleep at night.

Amber looked up when the there was a knock at the door and she slid the glasses off. "Come in." She was kind of glad to have a bit of a distraction. She couldn't really focus right now anyway, a certain blond teacher kept dancing through her head. Guess that's what she got for studying the human body. He had a damn fine one too. Although she wondered if it was all one sided. Like just on her side. Her head tilted when she saw it was Alex and tried not to look too disappointed.
"Hey, Alex." Looks at the whiskey and that at his face. "You too, huh?" Gets up and grabs two glasses and motions over to the small table with two chairs. "Bad night?"

He opened the door and held up the whiskey and chuckled at her question. "You got it Lovely." He moved into the room and set the bottle down as he looked around. The room was neat like he figured it would be, but the thing that caught his attention was the fact that there were medical books scattered all over her desk. He flipped though a few of them and whistled. "You know I have a friend coming that was Pre-Med before he joined the military he might be able to help you with some of this."
He looked over as he took a seat and poured out the whiskey, "Let me guess can't get a certain blond mail Professor out of your head long enough to get any studying done? And before you ask yes, a certain violet haired one has been keeping me up at night."

Amber just nodded knowing exactly what he was going through. "She really piqued your interest didn't she?" Her eyes followed his when they landed on her books. "I figured if I'm going to play at being the nurse I might want to learn something about it, right? Especially since I already freaked out one really sweet little girl the other day. Had a gash on her head and a sprained wrist. She felt terrible." It was the other reason she had left the head wound for last. She just shook he her head and sat down. When he mentioned his friend she nodded. "I might try and see if he's willing to help. I really could use it, I was home schooled." She gave a small chuckle at that.
The young woman gladly took the glass when he poured it. "How did you ever guess?" She took a drink and sat back in her chair. She was in her sleep pants and tank top with her bare feet and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. She actually didn't wear the revealing stuff since there was not telling when she'd have to help a student. No sense in showing up just to get blood all over a satin teddy. Not that she could afford one right now anyway. "So, I've got a thing for a blond male and you've got one for a violet haired female. Both of which we never get to see that much because of how busy they are with classes. Yet we still can't stop thinking about them, am I right? What would you like to know? Though I don't know much." But she'd help the poor man out, he brought whiskey.

He looked over at her and smiled softly as he winked. "Well it makes sense, you are doing a very important job. Be good to have some knowledge in the field in what you are working at." He leaned back as he picked up his glass, he chuckled as she landed on the main topic right of the get go. "Yeah, I think that pretty much covers it, although I just wished I could get five minutes alone with her you know? I guess we just hit the wrong time for a group get together." He chuckled a bit as he sipped from his drink. He thought about it for a minute and winked to his drinking partner as he gave her a mocking little salute with the glass. "Why is it when you want a group you never think to do it, and when you don't they are always there huh?" He laughed a bit as he looked back out over the whole of her desk.
He was taking another sip as he thought about it for a minute and shook his head. "Why does it seem that majority of the teachers here are wrapped up in their classes only and never really being out to get to know the rest of the staff? I mean besides for you I really can't say I know any of the other staff members, and you as a warm acquaintance. Although the closest thing to a friend I have here." He chuckled a bit as he thought about it. "Seems it was easier to make friends in the military, the only problem is they have a tendency to come back dead when you do." He leaned back and sipped from his glass again, it would drive his friends nuts how he would nurse a drink, no pun intended, but he had a belief that a little would go along way when done properly.
"I don't know what to ask really. I don't know much about her to know what to ask. I guess I was in search for a soul that was also lost on this fall night." He chuckled a bit wondering if the whiskey was making a poet out of him.

"Trust me, I know what you mean. I finally got Sam to meet me for drinks there's a Sentinel attack. Haven't seen him since. Didn't help that I was returning to an iPod to a guy who bumped into me in the park that day. His wingman was chatting him up. Sam showed up and all hell broke loose. There went my chance of getting to know him better." She sipped her drink and dropped her head back to stare up at the ceiling. "I figured if I can fix it without using my powers then I should be pretty good. I wonder what kind of damage my powers do to my body....." It was something that terrified her to find out.
"I really don't know. Honestly, I don't actually really know Betsy. Sam told me about her my first day, he knew her so I asked him to ask her. The sad thing is, I don't really know Sam that well at all. But I like him. I'd ask if you knew what I meant, but apparently you do." Amber sipped her drink and looked over at him. "Never had the chance to make friends. Someone would get hurt and I'd heal them and we'd move all over again. So, this crushing thing, is entirely new to me." When he mentioned the lost soul thing. "Amen..." She leaned forward and clinked her glass to his before taking another sip.

He chuckled softly as he looked up at her. Figuring to himself at least she had chances. Failed as they might be at least she has had them. Shaking his head he looked over at the books again and decided that was the best place to pick up again. "You are smart for trying to better yourself. Moving one step forward and not going any backwards is the general way to go." he looked back to her and smiled as he sipped his whiskey. "At least that is what my Drill Instructor would bark at us." He flipped through some of the books, and realized to him it might as well be Greek. "Isn't it funny how we speak the same language, but different dialects are understood by different people. I mean the dialects of employments. Half of this stuff wouldn't make sense to a person that is not in the medical field, while I could talk circles around a Doctor just by giving him instructions to fix his computer." He thinks about that as he pours himself a refill and offers to pour her one as well.

Amber watched him curiously. That girl must have really made an impression. She couldn't help but smile a bit as she took another drink. "Well I'm labeled a school nurse, so you know, should know what I'm doing. It really will help with me not possibly killing myself. Half the time I can't tell what the injury is until I receive it. Got a few nasty shocks that way." She just grinned when he called her smart for it. "Let's just stick with the dialect of two people trying to handle having their minds over run by two other people. Much less of an eye crosser if you know what I mean." Who knows maybe together her and Alex can figure out what to do about Sam and Betsy. She was hoping anyway. Amber didn't argue when he refilled her glass and she took another drink.

He laughed at that comment and chuckled, he really understood where she was coming from. Sipping from his drink he chuckled a bit hell, he could understand where she was coming from. "Screw'em, if they are too busy to find love then they just might not be what are hearts are trying to convince us they are?" He chuckled a bit as he looked over at her. "What do you think? Sound about right to you?" He just shook his head and sipped his drink, he was afraid of this, too much time to think and he was ready to chuck it all away and start fresh again. "We really shouldn't put our hearts and fate in the hands of people that are too busy for more than a five minute drink at a club, Sweets." He nodded his head as he poured himself another drink. He wasn't drunk, but he could start to feel the barest beginnings of a buzz coming on. "So lets just do what the song said. Lets drink them off our minds."

Amber took another drink and nodded when he spoke. ”Here here. Life’s too damned short to wait for someone to notice you.” It wasn’t really her fault, she’d never really been around anyone long enough to get to know them. Sam was cute as hell and she was drawn to that she supposed. What did she really know about him? Not a damn thing. Why? Because he was never around too busy with his job and his own life. It made her feel extremely pathetic at the moment.”We really shouldn’t fall for the first hotties to cross our paths, especially when we don’t know jack about them. Maybe they are lovers?” That thought didn’t occur to her until just now. She took another sip and knew it’d be a bit before she got plastered. However she was feeling a nice little buzz going on in her brain. ”That is a very good idea Mr. Morgana. We shall drink until we are mind numbingly stupid.” That sounded like a solid plan to her she even got up and locked her door so no students came in.

Grinning he puts away the bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey and before she could complain pulled out a crystal bottle, holding it like most would hold a child he smiled softly as he sat it down on the table and looked at her. "50 year old whiskey, been properly aged and is most flavorful. I have been saving it for either the right person or the right occasion. Since the person is not in a state to drink this with me, then the right occasion seems to be now." He smiled as he filled their glasses and lifted it up and winked to Amber. "To saying goodbye before we ever really said hello." He throws it back quickly and whistles, boy his old CO really liked this crap strong. He leaned back and let the flavor roll in his mouth before swallowing carefully. He wasn't sure how many shots of this he could handle, but the simplistic fact is he was looking for that point where his mind no longer functioned. So this stuff should get him there a bit faster than the Jack.

”How strong is that? And no better time than now I guess. If we are drinking to forget them.”Amber nodded in agreement. Goodbye before ever saying hello. That was so damn sad. She chuckled at his reaction and took a sip and started coughing. Her eyes watered a bit. ”Holy shit…..This is good.” She grins and takes another sip. After getting a tiny bit used to it she took at as shot. ”Holy hell… Hit me.” She set the glass in front of him. ”Why are we so stupid? I mean… the first people we practically come in contact with and Whammo! Instant attraction.” It really sucked but the drink was good. Maybe she’ll get shit commode huggin’ drunk after all.

He smiled a slow smile as he looked over at her and winked. “This is no stronger than most other whiskey, just properly aged..although it is a bit stronger than the newer stuff. I must admit that your idea is one I can whole heartedly subscribe myself to.” He chuckled as he slammed his back really quickly and poured out two more, he didn’t feel like trying to answer her questions until he had another drink or three down his throat. “I thank you for enjoying the drink, I have a small collection of sorts.” He chuckled a bit as he looked at her and winked.
“Why? I think it is because the eyes that are supposed to send sights to the brain, so the brain can determine if it is smart to continue on that course, had decided to skip the brain and send their image to our hearts. Which knows no better than locking onto the first thing it see’s that might be what it is looking for, and henceforth we two are sitting in an locked room drinking 50 year old whiskey.” He chuckled softly as he looked at her and took his next shot, pouring two more glasses he chuckled once more. “Too wild hearts that will never be tamed, and the minds that must try to live with the hearts decisions.”

Amber looked over at him. ”Stronger than I’m used to but I like it so it’s all good. Getting extremely wasted sounds like a seriously good plan to me too.” She slammed back the next drink and shook her head a bit. ”No lectures on mixing drinks tonight. Got me?” There was some laughter in her eyes to let him know she wasn’t really worried about it. God how could she have been so stupid as to fall for the first guy she met? Stupid, stupid, stupid. ”We are too much of a romantic. That’s what it is oh and maybe a little stupid. But to two wild hearts, cheers.” She took the next shot and then poured them another. ”And to getting drunk as hell for at least one night.”
