It had taken the Sentinels just two hours to fly from Genosha to Washington D.C., with a magnetic anomaly interfering with American satellites, they had no idea it was coming. They landed, surrounding the White House itself, programming from "kill any individuals with an X-gene" to "kill any individuals without an X-gene" they instantly began to open fire their powerful beams on the people of America. It was just a moment later, when the Brotherhood teleported onto the lawn of the White House....... OOC: The participants in this thread are

Exodus floated over the Sentinels, watching as the pitiful humans fled and ran, watched as they were incinerated by the Sentinels fire power. He put his fingers to his temple, and started to broadcast a message to every mind he could reach at once.
"Humans! You have labelled my Lord Magneto as the terrorist, as the one who has started this....war. Well your own leaders have lied to you! They bring upon them everything that happens today. If you do not believe me....see for yourself! They started this!" it was then that Exodus started to broadcast images Magneto had ordered him to, sending Magneto's memories of the Morlock massacre into everyone for mile in every direction. They could now know that they had brought this on themselves!

Pixie was scared out of her mind. First the Scarlet Witch came to Xavier's, saying there was going to be a huge attack on DC... then there was a rush of activity as they all rushed to get there and stop it.
She rested her hands against her forehead, trying not to cry as images of the massacre forced their way into her head. They were going to fight a telepath, then.
The people dying... it was horrible. Even worse then what had happened in the massacre. Why would someone do something like that?
She shook her head and then flew forwards, grabbing someone out of the way and flying into the air to avoid a blast from one of the sentinels. She deposited him on the ground, where he looked at her, then at her wings... and promptly ran away.
"This needs to stop." she said, whirling around and eyeing the big red guy who seemed to be commanding the robots.

It had been a few years since Pete had set foot in Washington D.C., certainly not since he left the service in any case. If he recalled, there was a bit of an uproar back then too, but it was definitely nothing like this. The mass images flickering past his eyes as a telepath bombarded the capital with pictures of the massacre, the pandemonium, the chaos... The screaming...
It was nothing like he’d envisioned when Magneto’s plan was revealed to them. Then again, even with his experience for bad situations, he’d never seen something on this scale. He shook his head slightly to clear his mind, he wasn’t here just to simply observe the havoc and mayhem. He was a bloody X-man, something he would ordinarily have avoided, but not today. Today he had a job to do.
“First things first...” He muttered to himself as he stared up at the floating form of Exodus. It had been a while since he’d engaged a telepath in combat, and to be frank he wasn’t looking forward to it. Willing his hot knives into being, he took some comfort in their presence and from the heat the offered. “Might as well say hello, no sense in being uncivil, eh?”
It of course wouldn't be a verbal greeting he would be offering, more of a friendly warning shot. Save less of a warning shot, more of a killing shot if he could make it. He smirked despite himself and arched back his arm, taking a moment's pause to take aim for the big red head...
... A hot knife sailed through the sky.

," she admitted, seeing no need to think it, with a master telepath in their presence. But it wouldn't stop the Kentuckian's mind from racing with thoughts, everything from her being worried about husking into wood or cotton to getting taken out in one hit. "Guessin' I'm waitin' to see how the big lug handles Petey." Not much else she could do, until she saw how Pete Wisdom fared, though it would have made Husk all the more comfortable if there was some kind of tactical order or chain of command. Even being one of the senior X-Men - age aside - she saw this as disorganized and a potential catastrophe... and she'd be forced to make it work. Damn, damn, damn. Maybe Pixie could do... something.[/ul]

If their was one advantage Piotr appreciated most about his Organic Steel form at the moment it had to be that when he was transformed he lacked the ability to sweat. Thankfully right now the rest of his group wouldn't be able to see exactly how nervous he was to truly be in this setting. He done better then even he could expect during the massacre in the sewers but this was a conflict on an entirely different scale. Here hundreds where present, stories of this would like on for years and here the enemy was powerful enough to actual harm him.
As Colossus watched a massive Sentinel open fire into a crowd of humans his first instinct was to go and try and battle this real live construct of a threat he had defeated once in the Danger Room. Then however images being broadcasted by the strange man with the red face bombarded his mind. They didn't shake him too much though, Piotr had seen images like these and worse in his dreams ever since that night in the tunnels.
He watched the others but seemed unsure of what he should do. At this point he might be a big and powerful Russian Colossus but inside he was a novice who had never really fought like this before. He would wait to find his best place in this fight and hopefully make a difference to stop this and not become part of the problem.

Exodus paid no heed to the mutants until one hurled a burning knife of some sort at him, he just raised a hand, albeit its effect was not apparent until the blade was a few inches from his hand, hitting against a shield of telekinetic energy. "So...not only do the pitiful humans come against me, but so too do Children of the Atom come to fight? To protect the very people that have sought to butcher us at every chance!" he glared down, his eyes running over each one, a brutal telepathic probe trying to force its way into each of them. Not the careful, gentle mind probe's other telepath's practised.
"I shall give you this one chance.....sleep." he offered, trying to telepathically lull them to sleep.

Children of the Atom? What in the world was this guy who looked like the Kool-Aid man going on about? People were dying, so of course she was going to try and stop him and saves people's lives! It was only right, after all.
Megan hovered a few feet into the air, glaring at Exodus. They had to something! Maybe she could dust him? That could work, then while he was distracted, everyone else could knock him out!
She stopped suddenly, bringing her hands to her head. It... hurt! It felt like when Sage or Jean or the Professor did their telepath thing... only meaner. Much, much, meaner.
She flew forwards suddenly, flying towards Exodus, trying to ignore the fact that she was getting sleepy. So, sleepy.... why was she so tired? She needed to Pixie Dust the Kool-Aid man...
She forced her eyes open once. People were dying! She unleashed a dose of Pixie dust at Exodus, then quickly made her way to the ground where she collapsed to one knee, fighting off sleep.

The sight of his knife halting inches from its final target wasn’t exactly a new development for Pete Wisdom, it had happened before, and would indeed in all likelihood happen again. Didn’t mean it didn’t piss him off any less. The man’s spiel did little to improve such a mood. “Children of the Atom? ...Great, I have to get the one Wazzock that’s a nutjob and a zealot....”
The familiar pains of telepathic suggestion spread out from the base of his skull, causing his vision the waver and dim at the edges. The attack lacked the finesse, the style and the subtlety Pete had grown accustomed to attributing to the telepathic abilities he’d encountered before. It was however, no less effective. Already he could feel his limbs growing heavy, his senses dulling, and his mind slowly edging towards a blissful unconsciousness... But it just didn’t seem to come. He couldn’t afford to pass out, especially if it meant leaving him and his charges at the whim of the floating red madman up there. He just had to keep focused, keep his mind sharp and in control of his body. ‘Mind over matter, Pete, mind over bloody matter...’
Of course, when Charles Lyell had coined the phrase ‘mind over matter’ he had A) never been hit with a telepathic suggestion to slip off to slumberland and B) been talking about a gradual process, not one borne out of last minute determination and focus.
Pete Wisdom quickly discovered this small, but nevertheless vital fact, as the floor rushed up to meet him and his consciousness threatened to flee for a safer climate. He could only hope as he stared dully at the gradually dimming sights before him, that the kids would fare up against such an assault with a better degree of tenacity.

Kitten was getting all those images and and she closed her eyes and shook her head of them . She was trying her best not to let those bother her. Kathy was really sensitive to those kind of things but now isn't the time for her to be afraid and she stepped forward with her ears folded to her head. The girl didn't make any kind of comment to what the red man just said which she thought was kind of nuts. She felt the jolt in her head and gripped it and tried fight it " No.....me will let these people Die......." she was wobbly as she tried to go forward to fight with her claws out.

Colossus had liked to think that with his metallic form he was practically invulnerable to harm. However of all the attacks out there one in particular was able to slip past even his formidable defenses. Telepathy. Unfortunately for the large Russian his organic steel offered him no protection from assaults on the mind no matter how hard he tried. He felt the invasion into his mind, similar to those of the Professor and Jean but with a more painful edge to it. Next the impulse to sleep flooded into his veins. Colossus watched as each of teammates succumbed to the powerful compulsion and felt him start to stagger as well. He dropped to a knee and tried desperately to stay awake.
Lids heavy he saw the images flash in mind again of the Morlock Massacre, not the ones that Exodus had broadcasted but the ones he had seen first hand. He could practically smell the burnt corpses, could see their burned out husks as the pain and anger he felt in those tunnels came rushing back to him. This memories where painful but they did help fuel on emotion in particular. Rage. The surge of anger sent a flash of adrenaline through Piotr's body and he could feel it trying to keep him awake, although he was still falling deeper and deeper into the need for slumber.
With all the force he could muster Colossus climbed back to his feet. He reaclled out sometimes when on the verge of sleep a sharp, loud noise could bring him back to clarity in a moment. That was what he needed now. Struggling he brought his large metallic arms up and held them spread out.
"No...." he whispered to himself as he tried to find the focus. Suddenly and with all his might Colossus swung his arms inwards at each other. Metal hands slammed into metal hands with 90 tons of force and their metal exterior made it sound more like a cannon had been fired. So powerful was the clap that Colossus actually saw a slight wavering in the air as the thunderclap that echoed from his hands jarred his body and even made his metallic ear canals ring with the force of the powerful sound. Colossus felt his mind start to snap back to reality as he brought his arms out again for an even more powerful clap as he screamed at the top of his lungs "NO!" Piotr could only hope his nearby teammates might be awakened by his efforts and his felt his body jolt back to consciousness, at least for the moment.

Exodus was so highly amused by the sight of his opponents bumbling about as they succumbed to his mental suggestion, although he raised an eyebrow at the little.....kitten girl. Even though he was floating quite some distance in the air, she appeared to be cutting at something.....
Still, Exodus wasn't in Washington to entertain himself, he was a mission, and those mutants...those "X-men" were standing in direct opposition to him. If they would fight his attempts, then he would deal with them in a more abusive manner. It was his duty as a member of the Brotherhood.
The only one flying towards him was the girl Mega, or Pixie, he knew both having just rammed his way into her brain. He had, thought her so small a threat, he didn't even bother to raise up his shields, but it would be a mistake he'd learn from. Her pixie dust hit him square in the face, and within moments the world was a much stranger place.
Exodus glanced around him, buildings were contorted, twisted and wrong, the Sentinels looked more like giant zombies, putrid flesh and bile to cover the package. "Away from me! All of you....you monsters!" he roared to nobody in particular, not the giant zombies in the distance, not the buildings turning into monsters before his eyes....not the X-men that had been converted in horrifying versions of themselves.
Exodus created a telekinetic sphere around his person, it rapidly expanded out, breaking away buildings as it expanded and moved, before eventually fading out. A moment later he was zipping through the sky, pyroplasmic blasts constantly exploding from his hands, in every direction he say a threat, which was every direction.

Ha! Megan got the kool-aid man good... right in the face! Let's see how much he likes hallucinating!
Or maybe she wouldn't see, considering she was still so tired and in need of sleep... She slid to the ground on her butt with a slight thump, closing her eyes. She would just snooze, just for a second, and then she'd go back to the fight...
A sudden clap of thunder made the young mutant jerk her eyes open and look around. God, she hated thunder storms! She just wanted to curl up in her blankets... but wait, this wasn't the mansion. She was in... Washington, D.C.?
A Pyroplasmic blast hitting the ground right in front of her made the girl scream and scramble back. That was right! She was fighting off Magneto's pet telepath! He was killing people, and it was her job as an X-men to stop him!
She reached up and adjusted her helmet, spinning to the side to avoid another of the telepath's blasts. "I got him with my dust! We can beat him now!" she called out to her teammates. Hopefully, that had just turned the tides in their favor.

The sudden pressure in Pete’s skull vanished, the feeling slowly returning to his limbs as the redskinned Zealot took to the skies as Pixie’s hallucinogenic dust kicked in. Unfortunately for them, it seemed to be making the situation worse rather than better. Instead of tormenting the general public with the horrific scenes of the Morlock massacre, the man had now geared up to raining all hell down upon whatever it is the dust had made him see. This day just got better and better. With a slight grunt he slid to his feet and glanced to the kids under his care. He shouldn’t of gone off without setting a plan in motion, a foolish mistake that could possible cost them, but Pete was just never someone that had worked in a team before... Still, hopefully he could make up for that now.
“Husk, you’re on crowd control til you get your powers inline.” The last thing he wanted was her entering the fray only to be made out of china or something equally as fragile. He glanced to the pink haired welsh girl next, “Pixie, good job – keep it up. You’re on air support, you up to it? Good.”
“Colossus, keep your head about you, kid.” He wasn’t sure what to say to the kid, he seemed to be taking the images the telepath had beamed out worse than anyone else, but Pete just wasn’t one for the whole buck up speech, hell he didn’t even know how to even start it. Instead he merely indicated with his thumb towards the floating form of Exodus. “See if you can rustle something up to bring our friend here down from the skies? Personally I wouldn’t mind a good ol’ fashion bus knocking seven bells out of the Wazzock, but work with what you can.“ Keep him occupied and focused on the objective, lastly he turned to the small form of the catgirl and bit his lip. Definitely a close-quarters fighter like Colossus, but she lacked the super strength that would help bring Exodus out of the sky. “Kitten, right? You’re with Husk on crowd control til we bring the Red man down to ground level.”
He let his hands fall down to his side and allowed a set of hot knives to flare into life once more, further focusing his power to increase their heat. He’d serve as long range for the moment with Colossus, hopefully he’d be able get a lucky shot in past that damn telekinetic field now that the man was distracted. There was no elegance to this plan, no hidden cards that he could pull out of his sleeve at the last minute, but he’d worked with less. They’d just have to wing it and hope for the best for now and see what turns up.
“What are you waiting for? Get moving!”
