Wearing her pink and purple plaid pajamas with a purple panda t-shirt, Sunshine made her way out of her room and into the hall. It was late and she had forgotten to look at her clock, but she was betting somewhere around midnight. Her arms wrapped around her middle as she moved as quietly as possible. Penny was going to go raid the kitchen since she woke up form a bit of a nightmare. What she needed now was milk and cookies and really she couldn't eat those processed cookies. She wanted to bake her own cookies, besides it would help calm her down. A therapy if you will, surely she won't get into trouble since she has a valid reason. Alright not so valid but she'll argue it until she gets punishment detail. With that thought firmly planted in her mind, Penny made her way down the hall on a mission of a therapeutic nature.

There was a certain amount of freedom that came with being nocturnal. While Kurt was slowly adjusting to the rest of the school and its students, he still tried to avoid showing his real form when he could. Especially when around his classmates. After all, what could he do to explain himself? He was blue and looked like the very king of demons that haunted the nightmares that were within Kurt's bible, for crying out loud.
But now? Now with the mask of night and bedtimes that most stuck to, Kurt allowed himself to be free of the hollographic image of his human counterpart. There wasn't a pale young man with frazzled black hair and dark blue eyes. Instead Kurt Wagner could crawl along the walls and ceiling without having to worry about a few stares here and there. It was in the night that Kurt Wagner found freedom and ventured out of his room.
The lean blue mutant paced down the hallways while his sulfuric gaze scanned about the hallways; clad in a pair of red and maroon striped pj pants and a wife-beater. He shifted as he walked before stopping to rip a small hole in the back of his pants and slid his tail through it. Better.

Penny got the feeling that she wasn't alone out in the hallway. Now as the master of fear one would think she didn't feel it but often times it seemed to be the only she did fear. Usually when she got a sense that someone was following her or close by she'd get a little creeped out. However that wasn't the case this time, whoever was there didn't 'mean her harm. Slowly the girl turned around but didn't see anything. Her head shook a bit and she started walking again. Maybe she just had residuals from the nightmare that woke her up.
The girl continued down the hall, looking around as she did so and stopped in her tracks. Brown eyes blinked with she saw the blue boy? OK first instinct was to hide, but then she remembered where she was and besides he didn't feel mean. He may have looked as if he could have been but he didn't feel like it. So, Penny did what she does best. "Um, hi. I'm Penny. I was just about to head to the kitchens to make some cookies or something. Would you like to join me?" There that wasn't so bad and honestly Penny didn't want to be alone at the moment. Besides something told her this boy could use a friend and Penny was all about friends.

Kurt wasn’t sure what to do at first. For a brief moment, he got a flash of the circus and felt an immense amount of guilt. He probably shouldn’t be out this late at night. He also probably shouldn’t be out without his image inducer if he knew people were about. So, for a split second, his expression read briefly of fear. His sulfuric eyes had widened only slightly and his mouth hung open; revealing just the tip of his fangs. He backed up timidly on all fours for a moment and readied his breath for an apology in broken English. He was beaten to the punch, however, when the girl spoke first.
She seemed nice! He hadn’t necessarily met anyone that wasn’t… other than the young man with the bad attitude that was made of ice. He was constantly finding himself surprised by the good nature towards him. Primitively he knew that the invitation was a sign that she wasn’t completely repulsed by his appearance and took that as the signal that everything was going to be okay. Before he could really answer, his stomach chose to for him and let out a low croak of hunger. “Sorry,” he said quietly and averted his gaze while his lips sheepishly offered a smile. “I am Kurt Vagner,” he introduced politely as he forced himself to stand on his legs. Kurt Wagner was going to have to try to not seem so odd right now… though he didn’t know if that was possible.

Penny watched him curiously, not circus freak curiously, but new person curiously. When he introduced himself she grinned. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you Kurt Wagner. Are you up for a bit of a snack? You’ll find I’m the resident weirdo who likes to feed people.” She shrugged a bit having been used to being called a lot worse at times. When she noticed he was making himself uncomfortable she waved her hand. ”If you are more comfortable the other way stay that way. No need to try to impress me just be you.” The girl didn’t like it when people went against their own natures, which was why she had a few issues. She couldn’t go against hers.
”If I might ask, what is your…. gift?” She hesitated to call it a gift because she had yet to see the good hers would do. Sure it would be a great way to get out of a situation or something, but it hurt her emotionally to use it. Even when she doesn’t like the person she’s using it on, Penny tended to apologize later.

Yes, that original instinct was correct. Penny person seemed to be alright. The added offer of food, though, was what sold the young man on this point. After all, Kurt had come from a previous lifestyle of semi-scheduled semi-meals that barely constituted as the grade of nutrition used for feeding livestock to being in a place that had an open fridge policy. Not only did Kurt discover that this place was awesome just for this fact, but also Kurt realized that he happened to like food more than was necessary. “Ahm, danke, zere ist nozing veird about feeding people… or at least I don’t sink so… but zen again I sink all das I do ist eat…” Kurt replied with a slight laugh as he rocked back on his oddly shaped feet. He stretched a moment before going back into that crouching position he was used to being in. “Danke. I still should probably get into standing ze ozer vay,” he commented with a shrug of his own shoulders. Still, a wide grin stayed on his furry features.
“Ahm… vell I sink zey explained it as… ahm,” Kurt searched for the right words. “I sink zey said… teleporting, ja?” He wasn’t sure if that was the right word so, to demonstrate what he meant in the event he was wrong, a cloud of sulfuric smoke popped right where Kurt had been standing and another cloud was at the other end of the hallway where he’d landed. “If das makes sense.”

Penny couldn’t help but grin at the adorable guy. ”Well thank you and I don’t mind feeding you at all. Anything in particular you are wanting?” She was one of those people that liked to make nice people happy and he seemed so sweet. She watched him crouch back down and shrugged a bit. ”Baby steps, Kurt. Just try standing like that every so often but not enough to hurt yourself. You’ll be fine. But around me feel free to be as comfortable as you want I don’t mind.”
The young girl watched as he teleported and got a giggle out of the Bamf sound it made. ”That would be teleporting but I’d call it Bamfing because that’s what it sounds like. Just to let you know in case you can’t hear it. If you can’t then it’s good to know about it so you can work on making sure they can’t pinpoint your landing spot.”Penny walked over to where he landed and grinned at him. She took his hand in hers to let him know there was someone who wasn’t bothered by his looks and nodded toward the kitchen. ”Come on, let’s go eat.”

“Ahm no… I haf no preference. I sink vone ov ze ozers said I haf ‘a bottomless pit’, ja?” Kurt offered with a smile. Food was food was food to him. Essentially, so long as it wasn’t the grime he was fed at the circus he would be pleased. Even if it were akin to those rations, he’d still gladly wolf it down. After teleporting down the hall a bit, he couldn’t help but grin proudly at himself because of the following:
a) He still hadn’t scared her b) He had managed to teleport without messing up.
“Bamfing… ja. Ja I like das,” he said with a nod and a wide set smile as Penny walked up to him. Bamfing… he thought to himself with amusement. He knew a sound was made, but he had never really put a word to it before. He tried not to flinch, like the kicked animal he was, when she took his hand but still kept his smile nonetheless. The furry young man looked in the direction of the kitchen where she nodded and bobbed his head up and down in turn. The two started to make their way to the kitchen, in a comfortable quiet at first but Kurt’s head was already moving much quicker than most would expect from someone who had been rarely out of his room. “Vas do you do, Penny?” he asked in regards to her powers; genuinely interested as they walked.

Penny grinned when he said he was a bottomless pit and would pretty much eat anything. That worked out well with her because then she might have a taste tester for new recipes. ”I think you and I are going to get along just fine.” The girl beamed again when he agreed to calling it Bamfing. ”Cool then when someone asks you what you do you can just tell them you Bamf.” The girl grinned at how he kept looking around. The smile faltered a bit when he asked about her power. Fair is fair she supposed. She looked down at their hands. ”I can cause various degrees of fear through touching someone.” She waited for him to pull away from her.
When they finally reached the kitchen she let go of his hand and went to work. She started getting the stuff out to make burgers and fries. She turned and smiled at Kurt. ”What kind of drink would you like? They have everything.”
