Walking, strutting even, in her own special way, Riley McCree moved along the sidewalk with a bright grin to her face, a skip to her step as her iPod played 'Bad Romance' by Lady Gaga. Now, it wasn't like she liked Lady Gaga herself, but dammit all if her songs weren't catchy.
Her hair, an almost shocking shade of red, was pulled up high into a messy ponytail, her bangs bouncing along as well as she moved to the beat, baby blue eyes sparkling happily as a wide grin spread across her pale, freckled cheeks, peppered with pink. Her body was draped with a tight, black and white striped spaghetti strapped tank top, covered by an open, gray hoodie that was only half zipped up her stomach, hanging loosely over one of her shoulders, as well as a pair of frayed capri pants, and another pair of slip on, navy sneakers.
Riley paused momentarily in her little dancing jog of sorts, glancing across the street, where she finally spotted what she'd been out for to begin with: a cafe. Yes, she'd been craving, not necessarily fancy coffee, but simply a reason to get out, and be amongst a large amount of people without really having to do much to be there. Her smile growing bigger, of course, she waited patiently for the cars to come to a stop before she darted across and popped in through the door, the little bell at the top jingling as she entered.
She was mostly surprised by how packed the place was; she, luckily, spotted the only free table and made a bee line right for it, dropping down hard in the seat and snickering to herself, proud of how she'd managed to get it without any sort of fight. Riley turned off her iPod and wrapped the headphones around it, sticking it into her hoodie pocket before picking up one of the menus, looking over the drinks.

After leaving the hospital, he went for a quiet walk. Wearing not wearing a shirt, revealing his new cresent moon scar that ranged from his chest circling down to his ribs. He could say it was a pretty decent reminder of what happened to him. He looked around thinking of what to do, his stomach kind of answer that for him. He was thirsty and hungry, he lets out a sigh knowing there wasn't a place that would allow him to enter without a shirt on and most would kind of judge him with a huge scar that covered most of his body.
He continued his walk with the 'higher class' looking and eyeing him strangely as if he was some out cast. He could hear their whispers about why he was doing what he was doing. Others opening mocked him, but he kept himself together, he wasn't going to let other's words get to him so easily. But he had to admit there was always a small part of himself that wanted to roar back and beat them back, but he knew better, that made him seem more mature than most.
He spots an American Eagle and walk in, hoping to but some cheap clothing. Only all the stuff was high priced. He grumbled a bit and began to walk out until his stomach growled once more. He scoffed and patted his stomach one before turning back looking around. Little did he know, the girls at the counter were swooning over him as he looked for cloths. He picks out a white shirt with an eagle on it and in style front faded blue jeans. He walks up to the girls and expected the price to be high. He got the outfit for about twenty dollars and all three girls numbers. Not something he expected.
He puts his jeans on and walk out, luckily there was a cafe across the street. He smiles and walks over. He enters the cafe while putting on his shirt. Many people stared at him, others ignored, and he was lost. He couldn't find a place to sit. He grumbles a bit standing around. Then he spots a girl who was sitting alone. Should he approach her at all? Probaly not. He turns away to leave only to be stopped by his stomach once more. He pats his stomach and turns to walk over to the girl with red hair. With a calm and warm voice he spoke.
"Hey. Do you mind if I take a seat next to you? This place is kinda packed."

Riley barely even heard him at first, lost in her own thoughts, mostly about what to drink, but she had heard him. She first glanced up at him idly, then did a bit of a double take when she did indeed realize there was someone in front of her, even asking to take a seat beside her.
She flushed slightly in embarrassment, mostly because it took her that moment to even answer; she must've looked slow or something. Not to mention it was a guy asking her...not that she was complaining or anything, but usually most approaches by men outside of the academy's setting resulted in cat calls, followed by them getting a firm fist to the nose. It really put it's point across in most occasions. Nonetheless, he seemed to be rather polite, so she smiled warmly and nodded, motioning to the seat beside her.
"Sure, I don' see why not." She stated, her Irish brogue standing out as broadly as she grinned, leaning back in her seat with a chuckle. "Hell, I was lucky enough t' get this table, can't see why I shouldn't share, right?"

She had an accent, so it was a bit hard for him to understand her at first. He had to adjust to how she talked before completely understanding. He takes the seat so he could sit across from her. He wasn't used to being close to anyone just yet. But so she doesn't think he was trying to be rude he gives her a warm smile.
"Right."
He responded with a grin, picking up a menu and reads it. There was nothing he liked at all. He rubs his neck lightly, not knowing what to order. There wasn't anything he really liked to eat. It was all snack-like food. Maybe this wasn't the best place to go for food. A person comes by and askes what they would like.
"Um, iced green tea please."

"Uh...hm." Riley looked over the menu again with a furrowed brow, a light pout to her lips before she finally decided on what she'd wanted to drink.
"Tall ras'berry iced tea fer me, please." She responded politely with a smile, handing over her menu as the waiter asked for it, resting her hands once more in her lap, folded in an almost dainty manner. "Thank y'."
It was then she turned her attention back to Hiro, almost curiously, cocking her head to the side as her baby blue eyes looked him over. He seemed nice...seemed being the key word. Well, she didn't really want to be rude and just sit there in silence. After all, they were sitting at the same table, weren't they? Why not strike up a conversation.
"It's a nice day, isn't it?" She asked softly as she looked out toward the window beside the table, a light smile on her face.

Leaning back on his chair, he began to rub his chin looking out the window. Light from the sun lightened his skin some, it looked like it was gimmering even. His mind began to drift off to space thinking about what has happened in his life thus far. But he heard her voice again, then he snaps back into reality.
"Yeah, it's nice over here. A tad better than New York."
He said calmly with a grin, unknowingly staring into her blue eyes. He didn't know why but blue eyes enchanted him. He lets out a soft sigh before braking the look between them. His reserved self taking over quickly.
"So, uh you live around here?"
He said trying to make her feel a bit more comfortable around him. He gives her a light smile to keep the warm mood between the two.
