Chilling in the water (open)

Sam walked outside in his trunks with a towel over his shoulder and sunglasses on the top of his head. Dropping the towel onto a chair he climbed into the pool then swam over to the raft and climbed onto it. After a few tries he got onto it the way he wanted and slid the shades down before putting an arm behind his head. It was nice to get outside and away from all those papers once in a while. And no one seemed to be around which was another plus, he just wanted to be alone but knowing his luck it would be short lived. Maybe if he was lucky enough it wouldn't be a student that popped up. Using his other arm he moved himself over to the middle of the pool or close enough to it.

Sacrifice was in need of a little R and R. She ended up having to switch to computer based learning, due to all the injuries she'd receive in the line of duty. Had she stayed they'd have thought she'd be a victim of abuse. This was both a blessing or a curse depending. A blessing because she can do it whenever she wanted, a curse because she was working on it every waking minute. Except for when she went out the other night and Alex came to visit the time before that. Now was her time.

The young woman got changed into a sky blue bikini, a pair of sweat pants and flip flops. The shoes clapped as she made her way outside and towards the pool. She stopped when she saw the other person already there. This was the time when she was tempted to turn around and leave. She'd had a bit of crush on Sam since she got there but nothing had come of it. Now she was slightly embarrassed about it. Sacrifice stood there and looked between him and the building, trying to decide what to do.

He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sun shine trying to remember not to fall asleep and get sun burned again. The peace and quiet broke when he heard the foot steps of someone coming It was to good to be true opening his eyes he looked around to try and see who was there but he couldn't see them due to having been moved from where he was fist at. He tried to sit up and not fall off so he could look behind him but failed and the raft flipped throwing him into the water.

Swimming to the surface he glared at the raft for a second before looking over at the newcomer who turned out to be Amber. Oh great I made a complete fool of myself in front of her for a moment he had the urge to go back under and hide but he didn’t instead he swam over to the edge “You can come in I wont bite.” he said smiling at her.

Amber couldn’t stop the giggle when he fell off the raft. She dropped her bag and went over to see if he was alright though. ”You OK?” She dropped down in a squat near the edge and looked down at him. She’d given up on ever getting his attention, but being this close to him was a punch in the gut. ”Didn’t think you would, but you looked like you’d rather be alone.” Amber wasn’t stupid she was smart enough to figure when a guy really wasn’t that into her. At first she had thought maybe he was, but now she wasn’t so sure. ”I can always come back later if you’d rather.” He was still as good looking as ever. Amber’s gazed moved so she was looking off in the distance she was afraid she’d just sit there and stare at him if she didn’t.

“Yeah but I lost my sunglasses I can find those later though.” he shrugged not really caring that he lost them they didn’t cost a lot so he could replace them if he needed to. “Nah, just wanting to take a break from the students and soak up some sun before it got cold out.“ he turned around in the water then placed his elbows on the edge of the pool “You can stay I was kind of hoping I’d get to see you again with out a group of other people around or being attacked by giant robot‘s.” he looked up at her hoping she would stay and join him in the pool and not get called off to help someone or anything like that.

Amber looked out into the pool when he said he lost his shades. ”Should be able to find them in there.” She nodded and smiled at him. It really shouldn’t be too hard since they should be somewhere in the pool. She grinned when he said he was trying to get away from the students. ”Can’t blame you there.” Sacrifice was so used to the scars and bruises that came with her job she never covered them up. So the faint lines of scars and then a couple of newer looking ones were visible over her body. She shimmied out of the sweat pants and flip flops. Her heart did a bit of a jump when he said he’d wanted to spend time with her. ”Really? I’m sorry about the robot thing, wasn’t expecting that. I was just going to drop of his iPod and then kind of try to finagle a date out of you.” She slid into the pool next to him and looked over. ”I really would like to get to know. The fact that he wanted to spend some time with her floored her a little bit and she grinned at him.

He watched her get out of the sweat pants while trying not to stare he wasn’t looking at the scars they didn’t bother him like it might someone else. Even with them she was still pretty hot “Yeah and you don’t have to be sorry about the Sentinel attacking you had no control over it. If you wanted to go out on a date all you had to do was ask my door is always open.” he watched her get in next to him. “Well what do ya wanna know? Just so ya know I ain’t got any deep dark horrible secrets if that’s what yer hoping for.” he joked as he pushed off heading for the middle but turned around so he could still see her he didn’t want her to think he was ignoring her or anything like that. And maybe get her more into the water and have some fun other then talking the whole time.

Amber watched and shrugged a bit. ”Still sorry about that, especially since I’m pretty useless against something like that. I wasn’t sure if you’d actually want to go out or not. I mean hang out, group thing maybe but a real date? Wasn’t sure if you were interested. Thought maybe you had something going with Betsy.” Remembers the night her and Alex were all about saying screw them. She swam out to the middle with him. ”Well, what kind of things do you like to do for fun?” She chuckled a bit at his comment about not having horrible secrets. ”Everyone has secrets and they should stay that way, unless they are destroying you anyway. Anything you want to know?” Amber dipped her head back to get her hair wet and then looked at him again.

“Its alright not everyone can fight those things, I’m just happy you weren’t hurt by it.” His eyes widen a bit when she thought he was into Betsy. “No, just friends nothing more then that.” he really never gave it a thought that’s what she would think. “Read, riding my dirt bike, going to the beach, watching movies, if I was back home horse back riding.” he sunk into the water only his head was showing the wind started to blow and it was a bit cold. “Some of those secrets could come back to bite you in the butt even if there not destroying you. Alright same question what do you like to do for fun?"

Amber shrugged. ”Still made me feel pretty useless. I can’t do damage with my power and I don’t have super strength so boxing or brawling with them were out of the question. All I could was hide behind you. Not that it was really a bad thing, but you know?” Really she didn’t mind hiding behind a guy especially a big sexy, gorgeous….. Her head shook briefly to clear her head. ”Oh really. I thought you two might you know be… well.. together or something.” She dipped her head back again and smoothed her hair back.

Blue eyes widened and sparkled. ”You like dirt biking? I used to race dirt bikes. Wow…. Never been to a beach… Movies are great and I’ve never been horseback riding but I’d love to one day.” Oh god she sounded like an over eager school girl. Her flushed pink and she dunked herself under water. She came back up and got hit by the breeze and shivered. ”Wasn’t expecting that… “ She grinned and dunked down up to her neck as well. ”If I have any dark secrets I was blacked out and don’t know them. What do I like to do? Pretty much the same thing just add go dancing, hanging out, anything that requires snuggling close if I’m on a date. And I’m going to go drown myself now for sound like a teen ager….” She groaned and dunked herself again.

Sam chuckled a bit when she seemed to like hiding behind him and wondered if she even paid attention to the fight or was she looking at something else. Yeah he knew most if not all his female students stared at his butt so it wouldn’t surprised him if she did. “Nope just helping her deal with some things she’s gone though a lot and is trying to put her life back together.” he watched dip down into the water again. “Yeah living out in the middle of no where got a lot of room to ride. You’ve never been to the beach?” he a bit surprised he thought everyone’s been to it at lest once. He stood up reached down and pulled her up not wanting her to drown “If you kill yer self then we wont be able to got out nothing.”

Amber thought back about that night at the bar and how nice his ass looked in those…. She stopped her thoughts right there. But then she also remembered how he looked when he was fighting all tense and pissed off and… Once again she stopped her thoughts. ”Well that’s good to know, didn’t want to step on any toes.” She grinned at him when he told her even just a little bit about himself. ”Maybe one day you can teach me. Nope never been to the beach. We moved around too much and never really got there.” She shrugged a bit as if it were not big deal. She felt him pull her up and looked up at him a small smile touched her lips at his comment. ”You do want to go out? I have a confession to make. I told myself the next time I see you I was going to kiss you. Then I realized that probably wouldn’t be wise in case you didn’t want me to. I just figured I’d let you know.” She’d kind of hoped her let her know one way or the other before she did something so stupid it was his call if she did it or not. At least she was letting him know, right?

"Sure and we’ll have to go to the beach some time and get away from this place for a while. Before they drive us mad.” Sure he liked the place and the people there but he just needs a break every now and then even all of his brothers and sisters didn’t make things this crazy. “Sure I do..." he trailed off when he heard her confession not really sure what to say with out sounding like an idiot but threw that idea out the window and went a whole different way then he had planned and leaned down and kissed her.

Amber grinned up at him when he said they’d go to the beach. ”You can fly can’t you?” Now that gave her a few pretty thoughts and she had to shake her head to clear it. ”I think that sounds like fun. Just let me know when you want to go.” She started worrying her bottom lip between her teeth while she waited for his reaction to her confession. Amber was damn near ready to just slip off in utter embarrassment for acting like a school girl and then he kissed her. She had not expected that at all. Her arms slid around his neck and she moved a little closer to him as she kissed him back.

“Sure I can.” he had a bit of a confused look he thought she knew his powers already he did use them when the sentinel attacked. “How about in a few day’s go on the weekend? I know a place we can go where there isn't a ton of people around.” That would give him time to get something’s put together that they could do while they were there. So many things to do so little time to do it in oh well he'll get it all done one way or another. He slid his arms around her waist when she put her arms around his neck. He was happy to know he didn't screw it up when he decided on doing this.
