Friends of Humanity say Vote Yes! (X-men)

Mutants are people, but mutants are dangerous, we have already seen the destructive nature and ability of the terrorist Magneto. We have seen these.....vigilante groups, The X-men and The Hellions tearing up our streets with their conflicts! We are not asking for mutants to be placed into concentration camps! This is still America, Land of the free! But Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to know who these people are! Mutant Registration is good for everyone, it lets us know who these people are, what they can do and it helps us, help them! I'm Senator Kelly, and I'm asking you this, when you walk into that voting booth on the fifteenth of this month, you vote Yes! to mutant registration!"


Ladies and Gentlemen that was the speech given by Senator Kelly, one of the most vocal members of the Friends of Humanity, the coalition of Politicians who believe in taking steps in protecting everybody, in the emergence of Mutantkind. You saw it here first on CNN."

That TV was quickly turned off after that. They didn't need to watch anymore.

Yea right, protecting everyone. The Friends of Humanity didn't want to protect everyone. They only wanted to protect humans from mutants. At least the X-Men sought equal rights and to protect every type of person no matter their race. If this mutant registration went through, it was going to mean bad things for the school and the entire mutant race. Ororo shook her head as she listened to the news report. It was times like this that she often thought about just going back to her home country of Africa. But that would solve nothing, she'd simply be running away from the problems. No, she couldn't do that to the students.

Ororo crossed her legs as she leaned back on the couch, turning the tv off. ”This is not going to end well for anyone. Do they seriously think that the mutant community will simply roll over and register? This is madness.” Ororo could see exactly where this was going to lead. The government would try to force mutants, and mutants were going to fight back. She really did hope that all violence could be avoided. Sadly, that has highly unlikely.

Megan sat on the floor, her knees pulled up to her chest as she watched the news article in shock. Registration? Registration? How could they do something like that, after they went and saved them from being totally destroyed by Magneto?

"Their conflicts?" she said angrily. "Only reason that we fight is to save them!" She paused, biting her lip and looking up at Storm.

"Ms. Munroe? Are we really going to have to register?" she asked quietly, resting her head against her knees.

“I say we don’t some of us can’t afford to be announced to the world.” a voice came from the doorway Victor was leaning against the doorframe. He really didn’t want the weapons program learning where he was living at now and come knocking and drag his ass back there to be reprogrammed into a weapon. Once was enough for him. He moved away from the door way making his way over to the couch sitting down next to Ororo “You all remember the Sentinels. I think they made new ones only smaller calling them Iron Man. I was in the city the other day and crossed paths with one of them.” he partly lied about it he had hit a Mutant Registration campaigner which brought the Iron Man down on him. But decided not to tell them that they didn’t need to know.

Professor Charles Xavier had heard of the announcment, he also felt the mixture of anger and fear that followed it's finishing. It was a time like this that the school needed the leadership of it's teachers, to reassure and to calm...for every person who needed to be reassured there was another who would be tempted to run off and fight.

Slowly he rolled himself in to the room, he saw that lot's of students were in the room, as was Ororo one of his most trusted staff members and closest friends. He let out a slight sigh to announce himself and said "It seems we've gained a slight notoriety...it seems we've hit our first major road block. I would ask all of you though not to act rashly, this is only the begining of what we will have to overcome

Kitten ears suddenly folded when she had heard the announcement. She didn't want to have to register she thought it was like racism. She looked towards Professor Xavier was he rolled inside of room and frown " We don't really have Register do we Professor " She hated the idea of having to do that as place her hands in her lap she couldn't keep calm with this. She wasn't really a fighter and people take advantage of her size
