Five Years Later
Five Years Later
It was the year 2010
A rogue cell of S.H.I.E.L.D. later identified as "Hydra" that started it all. A Massacre in the New York tunnels, killed over a hundred mutants known as the "Morlocks." In response to this, a mutant known as Magneto attacked a US Aircraft career, killing its entire crew and hurling Mutants in the lime light, their existence was confirmed by both world governments and SHIELD.
A U.S. counter attack saw automated attack machines, codenamed "Sentinels" land and bombard the mutant haven country, Genosha. While the attack left many dead, ultimately it was a failed attack, as Magneto reprogrammed the machines and lead his Brotherhood on an assault of Washington D.C. If not for the valiant efforts of Charles Xavier's X-men, Emma Frosts Hellions and the military forces led by Captain America. The Brotherhood was eventually forced to retreat, but the damage was devastating.
Meanwhile, a coalition of politicians, devout Christians and pro-life calling themselves "The Friends of Humanity" called for mutants to register their gifts to the government, make who they are public, for the safety of all.
In 2011
While peace was not expected, hostilities between the US and Genosha slowly entered a cold war. The X-men & The Hellions achieved international fame & infamy as they were seen publicly assisting in stopping threats of meta-human terrorism, some media sources quoted them as saying they were "dedicated to protecting a world that both fears and hates them." Many accused them of dangerous vigilantism, and the Friends of Humanity called for their immediate arrest, gaining great popularity in doing so. Magneto disappeared from Genosha.
2012
The year it all went wrong
Two thousand and twelve was marked as one of the worst years in recorded history. Friends of Humanity supporters and Mutant Rights protesters clashed constantly, all across America the fires of discontent burned. The Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters and Emma Frosts Massachusetts Academy are outted as "Mutant" schools, daily life becomes difficult for faculty and student alike, as anyone seen attended was assumed to be a mutant.
In November of 2012, it happened. Nuclear weapons were detonated all across Africa and South America, millions are killed, the aftermath of radiation kills many more. An Egyptian Scientist, En Sabah Nur, comes forward with experimental terraforming technology that may undo the radiation damage and heal the devastated countries. World governments dedicate billions to the restoration project.
2013
The Rise of Apocalypse
It is discovered all too late that En Sabah Nur orchestrated the bombings, his terraforming plants unveil into massive floating pyramid like battle stations, with fire power far beyond any Weapon of Mass Destruction. En Sabah Nur, now calling himself Apocalypse, is discovered to be an ancient warlord by the X-men & Hellions. Attempts to stop Apocalypse by both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the mutants teams fails miserably after he reveals his own army of enhanced Sentinels, South America and Africa are completely under his control. All humans become slaves, mutants join his cause voluntarily, or are controlled by mind controlling nano-technology.
2014
World War III
Apocalypse declares war on the world, with an army of Sentinels & slaves promised freedom for victory, his army is led by The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, mutants enhanced by Apocalypse's dreadful technologies. Apocalypse's forces push on North America, Europe & Asia. The Brotherhood defend Genosha, but attrition takes its toll. The timely return of Magneto saves the countries population, who are brought to their new home, Asteroid M, the island, Genosha, falls to Apocalypse but not before the entire capital city is torn from its foundations and placed on Asteroid M. Fourteen States of the US are also taken.
2015
It continues
Slave labour continues to pour out a constant stream of weapons and Sentinels fuelling Apocalypse's military might. His five Pyramid battlestations, one run by each Horseman and one super station run by Apocalypse himself, make the military force of small countries utterly obsolete. In what remains of the United States, The Friends of Humanity call for all mutants to be drafted into the military and their abilities put to use on the front line. The X-men & Hellions call for mutants rights to be upheld, while doing their part to defend their homes. The Brotherhood, now living safely in the massive Asteroid M, begin launching a series of hit and run campaigns against Apocalypse, considering him the greater threat.
