He is a master strategist, very advanced skills in close and ranged combat with centuries of experience.
Personality: Apocalypse appears to focus on a survival on the fittest concept to the world, his entire war on the planet is weeding out the weak, and letting the strong flourish. Extremely egotistical, he considers himself a saviour to mutant kind, gladly accepting mutants into his ranks and rewarding the powerful & loyal amongst them. Humans he considers little above insects, and launches his assaults without mercy.

Mutant Abilities:
Apocalypses body is a mix of organics and celestial technology, augmenting and amplifying all of his abilities. Firstly, Apocalypse has complete control over his atomic structure. Harnessing ambient energies, he can augment his physical form in a variety of ways including manipulating his size, giving himself virtually unlimited strength, hardening portions of his body into armour, reshaping his arms into a variety of melee weapons, working wings and booster jets, and much much more. The limits of his transmutation abilities, like many of his other abilities, are unknown and seem to adapt depending on his need and imagination. He possesses the ability to heal himself from most injuries, but larger ones will take longer to heal from. More serious damage can still be healed, and if necessary, the celestial technology in his ship and many bases around the world will heal him from any state including bringing him back to life.
Apocalypse has displayed a strange ability to project a psionic beacon around his person, emanating about fifty feet from his person, any mutants this beacon passes over Apocalypse can subconsciously begin to analyse. By using his own control of his atomic structure, Apocalypse can then write this genetic reading into his person, allowing him to replicate their abilities for a short period. He must project this beacon once every few minutes (less then that for mutants he can scanned on many occasions) to continue analysing their genetic data, to continue using their abilities. A very first scanning may not replicate abilities perfectly, resulting in deteriorated effects.

History:
Much of Apocalypse's history is unknown, the X-men and Hellions have furthered information to S.H.I.E.L.D. indicating that Apocalypse was originally a warlord in Ancient Egypt named En Sabah Nur, which lines up with the "human" name be used when he first appeared in the modern world. Ancient writings indicate that En Sabah Nur eventually became Pharaoh, and his rule appeared to last several hundred years.
At some point, for currently unknown reasons, En Sabah Nur disappeared from history, and his known location in entirely out of record until he re-emerged in modern day Egypt, after organising the nuclear bombings that devastated Africa & South America. Once his "terraforming" plants were in place, Apocalypse revealed himself as a mutant "saviour" and launched a horrendous war campaign, unleashing an army of his own brand of Sentinels, reinforced by slaves and mind altered mutants, soon reinforced by his deadly Horsemen. Since then, his war has continued and his demands are nothing less then world control and the eradication of human rights.
