Due to her Nova Roman heritage, Magma is well versed in Roman culture, including the Latin language, and is a skilled swordswoman. Magma possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise.
Personality:
Amara isn't one to hide her feelings or her what she is thinking. Its all up font with her. There are two sides to Amara, the fun energetic and then the tempestuous hellion. Amara is very loyal to those that deserve her respect. Her upbringing taught her that only the powerful can demand respect from the get go; everyone else had to earn it in her eyes. Now that she's on a team, Amara is willing to do anything for them if it keeps them alive.
Her fellow teammates know both of these sides. If you want someone to shop with, gossip with, play practically jokes with; Amara's your girl! Her fun and bubbly nature makes it hard for people to not like her. However if you want someone to bring the heat, Magma will bring the entire volcano. When Amara's PMSing, everyone knows it.

Mutant Abilities:
Flight
Geokinesis: can psionically control the movement of the tectonic plates within the Earth's crust within limited areas, probably no less than a radius of a few city blocks. Within this area she can create small or large earthquakes by psionically affecting the Earth's crust.
Regenerative Amara possesses certain minor regenerative powers when in contact with the ground. Her recovery rate is quicker than most. Magma is able to recover from laceration wounds in her human form by changing to her energized form, the intense heat cauterizing and sealing any wounds.
Pyrokinesis: can create flames and project blasts of heat that do not contain any molten rock. However, she apparently prefers to fire magma blasts rather than simple heat blasts, perhaps because the magma blasts have a solid impact that can knock down a target. The highest level of heat that Magma can generate is not yet known, but it is believed that she can reach at least 850° Fahrenheit or higher.
Magma Manipulation: can psionically cause magma, or molten rock, from far beneath Earth's surface to rise to and break through the surface, forming miniature volcanoes. She can also telekinetically project fiery blasts of magma at targets. Apparently she does so by turning nearby rock molten and then telekinetically hurling it at her target.
Magma Form: When using her powers Magma's body shines with intense light and gives off tremendous heat. Her hair seems ablaze with fiery light. Neither her own heat nor heat from any other known source can burn or otherwise harm Magma. Although Magma has triggered small earth tremors without taking on her glowing form, she has never been seen to use her power to fire lava blasts while in her ordinary human appearance. Magma is not blinded by the light she gives off in her shining form.
Weaknesses:
Magma's power to create small or large earthquakes and volcanic eruptions is linked to her emotions. She could unintentionally create major earthquakes and large-scale volcanic activity by losing control of her temper and becoming unusually angry.
When Amara looses contact with the Earth, her powers become unstable. Long flights or cruises make her control over her powers unstable; making her dangerous for the people around her.
History:
Magma hailed from the country of Nova Roma (New Rome), a colony of the Roman Republic reportedly founded shortly after the death of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The colony was hidden in modern Brazil and was ruled until recently by the immortal mutant sorceress Selene. Amara was the daughter of Lucius Antonius Aquilla. He was presumably a member of the historical gens Antonia which claimed descent from Anton, son of Hercules.
A faction of the city’s Inca population attempted to transform the republic into an imperial state and a dark cult following the Black Priestess was regularly sacrificing young girls in a pit of fire in some caves beneath Nova Roma. Senator Aquilla was the leader of the opposition to this faction. Fearing for his daughters safety, he sent his daughter Amara to live in the jungles outside Nova Roma, disguised as an Indian. Later, the senator discovered that the Black Priestess was actually the immortal mutant Selene, wife of Senator Marcus Domitius Gallio, the leader of the Imperial faction.
Selene used her mutant powers to drain Amara's life energy into her own body for one of the ritual sacrifices. However someone caught Selene's attention and lossened her grip on Amara. This distraction caused Selene to release Amara from her control, but Selene knocked Amara into the pit of lava.
Somehow, rather than harming Amara, her immersion in the lava awakened her latent mutant powers. With her new powers, Amara stayed hidden in the volcano until Selene was out of sight before making a run for it. Amara remained in hiding for years until she was found by Charles Xavier through his Cerebro. He invited her to join him in the US and attend his school. The girl relucantly agreed to go after her father's more than willing consent.
At first Magma experienced culture shock, however she soon got a handle of modern civilization, including such things as computers and electricity. She also made quick progress in the use of her powers, being able to melt tunnels into the ground with the walls cooling down in mere seconds. After living in the Mansion for five years, she learned how to control her powers and looked at the mansion as her home.
a Now Magma is a senior at NYU as a fashion designer. Not only is she a student, but part of the X Force. Her fire power's kept the team out of some nasty situations, especially with the rise of the Horsemen.
Sample RP:
Drama, drama,drama. Amara hated everything that had to do with the catty tempers of the girls in her classes. They always chattered on about everything and anything, but they never actually talked about important matters. She never heard them say that over their weekend they saved the world from a mutant dictator. Nope, they always had a party or went to the beach or shopping. Amara rolled her blue eyes as she worked on the design for her evening dress.
This class was particularly boring for her, she much rather be in the Danger Room sharpening her skills. But her clothing was her creative outlet. It was something that she was good at and enjoyed doing. Plus, she knew that her design was better than what ever cupcake thing Bethany had. Amara smirked as she shaded in her leathery details.
"Hey Amara, what did you do this weekend?" asked Bethany. Amara looked up from her sketch book and smiled. She thought about saying, "Me? Oh I just wrestled with some robots, flew around the city with a few friends, and accidentally set one of my cars on fire." Instead she said, "Not much, watched a few movies with my friends, took a bath." she shrugged. Amara knew that her three peers thought she was aloof and weird. How could she not be? Amara always sat in her own station and never talked much. However the other girls wanted to include her, but didn't know how to talk to her. It might have been some form of jealousy that they wanted to keep her close, after all she was more beautiful than the others - even with her large glasses with her hair in a lose braid. The glasses were more of a cosmetic accessory, just to keep a low profile while walking around. Amara didn't need to have people recognize her as the Magma girl on TV. Her molten exterior was a good disguise, but there was only so much she could do.
"Oh, well that sounds fun" the girl said with a hint of pity.
