Cori is a natural brunette, but dyes her hair blonde. She also has a scar around her right ankle from surgery.
Skills:
Dance- She’s a classically trained ballerina- had she not been injured, she would probably have made it into Juilliard. Her years of dance training also greatly enhanced her flexibility- it’s rather common to see her in a split whenever she’s sitting on the floor.
Guitar- Cori began playing the guitar while recovering from Anorexia.
Sewing- She knows how to sew- mainly from having to sew ribbons on her pointe shoes all the time.
Personality:
Cory used to be shy- after spending most of her time dancing, she found it hard to relate to others who didn’t. But she’s learning to open up- becoming more outgoing and extroverted. She’s fiercely protective of those she calls friends- she wouldn’t hesitate to take a bullet or attack for them.
She has slight OCD tendencies- her room is always clean and things have to be in a specific order, but nothing too extreme. She also hates to stay still- instead, she chooses to dance around as a way to entertain herself while bored.

Mutant Abilities:
Aerokenisis- the ability to manipulate wind to varying effects. She can summon gusts of wind, and using those gusts of wind propel various objects through the air. This also grants her the ability to fly.
Weaknesses:
Cori is a recovering Anorexic. If she gets too stressed out, she’ll probably stop eating again.
She still has trouble controlling her powers fully. She’s lost control a couple of times while flying, but most often accidentally summons a gust of wind whenever she sneezes.
History:
Corynne, or Cori for short, was born to a single mother. She never knew her father, and her mother never really talked about him. Not that Cori cared, really. She was really close to her mother, who had a job as a paralegal in a prestigious law firm in Baltimore. Cori’s grandmother- Evelyn’s mother- watched her while Evelyn was working and Cori wasn’t in school. She was the one who got Cori interested in ballet- she had been a professional dancer when she was younger.
Cori was enrolled in dance classes at the age of four- mainly because Rebecca believed that all little girls should dance, but that was beside the point. But Cori continued in these classes- she tried both tap and jazz for a while, but ballet remained her favorite. That is, until she was finally old enough to begin Pointe.
Dancing became Cori’s life, just about. She had various classes four days of the week, and was an excellent dancer- and she had her sights set on going to Julliard and becoming a professional ballerina. And nothing was going to stop her- not even the manifestation of her aerokenisis when she was fourteen and increasing anti-mutant sentiment. She just had managed to keep her powers a secret from everyone except her mother- which was rather hard, considering she had trouble controlling them.
But like most dancers, though, Cori began to obsess with her weight. She just always wanted to lose those last couple of pounds, convinced that it would make her a better dancer and then increase her probability of getting into Julliard. This soon turned into Anorexia Nervosa.
Her dance dreams were cut short when she was sixteen, though. Not because Apocalypse began taking over the world or anti-mutant sentiment or even anything involving her powers. She hurt her ankle after a leap with her partner went wrong. And rather than stay off it like she was ordered to, she simply bandaged it up and continued dancing- which eventually lead to a ruptured Achilles Tendon that required surgery to repair and also ended her aspiring dance career.
Depressed, Cori’s Anorexia spun out of control and she wound up in therapy to recover. It was here that she picked up the guitar- she needed something to do other than obsess about not being able to dance seriously anymore or about what she was eating.
It took a while, but Cori recovered. Her mother, wanting Cori to have a fresh start, sent her to Xavier’s Institute to help her control her powers. Cori was a bit upset at first, but she now loves living at the mansion and being in the X-men.

Cori leaned forward with a frown, double checking the chord on the sheet music sitting in front of her.
“Ah, major, not minor.” she muttered, scribbling a little note on the music in pencil. She put the pencil down, then strummed the guitar again, making sure to put the slight shift in her finger position that would ensure she played the proper chord. She hummed along absently as she played- after all, she couldn’t count how many times she had danced to the Swan’s Theme from Swan Lake…
She paused, wrinkling her nose and then suddenly sneezing. The ensuing gust of wind she accidentally summoned blew the sheet music all across her room.
“Great.” She muttered, putting her guitar down on the bed and scrambling around to pick up the music.
