Weight: 120
Appearance:
Skills:
Currently studying to become an editor. But knows some hand to hand, such as kickboxing and karate. She tries to avoid violence, therefore doesn't feel the need to work on her fighting but more on her running. Alaska is pretty fast for a girl that doesn't have enhanced agility.
On a plainer note, her ability to whip up a yummy mac and cheese or whatever other food allowed her to become friendly with some of her more socially challenged peers. As a student, Alaska is very studious and responsible. Not to mention she also has a knack for any athletic sport. She isn't an Olympian, but she can hold her own in a baseball match.
Personality:
Overall people view Alaska as a sweet girl that doesn't do anything wrong. However she is the kind of girl that some might call slightly crazy, but if you knew her you couldn't imagine her without her sense of humor. Alaska is always moving at lazy and relaxed pace, like she has all the time in the world to do what she pleases. Her philosophy in life is "Live each day to the fullest". Pretty generic, but so true for her lifestyle.
Smart and cunning. Alaska seems to sense the truth before she knows for sure. Her sarcastic humor is usually the best or worst of her traits. As a friend, Alaska will treat you like a sibling. She won't hesitate to tell you that you're being stupid or look awful in that outfit. Honesty is at times her best trait or worse, depending on the situation. She is nice to everyone but only lets a certain few get close enough to know the real her.

The Mutant
Codename:Freyja
Mutant Abilities:
Omnilingual- Alaska can speak any language possible when spoken to.
Manipulation of Kinetic Motion- She has the ability to manipulate the atoms of any object. She can freeze object in motion and speed them up to create explosions powerful enough to throw a person back or blast open a locked door. Her power is channeled through her hands. It usually looks like she is flicking water off her finger tips when she uses her powers.
Weaknesses:
Omnilingual- This power only works when she hears the said language. So she could hold up a conversation with any person. The catch is once she is alone, her knowledge of the language is gone.
Manipulation of Kinetic Motion- With the way her power works, she cannot stop people who move at hyper speed. She can bring them down to a normal speed, but cannot freeze them completely. When speeding up the molecules, it is sometimes hard to gauge the strength of the force needed.
History:
Alaska Rider is the average girl... or was. She was the perfect child since she was a baby. Her parent's never complained about her not sleeping or crying when she was an infant. Even as a toddler hissy fits were non existent. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Young were upstanding citizens in the city of New York City. Her father was a CEO of a international company and her mother a celebrated writer. It was more than a surprise to find out their daughter was a mutant.
The family was out for their weekly walk in Central Park when Alaska was 8 years old. It was a crowded day there. Runners, bikes and skateboards were packed on the pathways. Alaska remembered her parents kept a close grip on both her hands. As they were walking past a picnic area, Alaska saw a little boy crying. His dark skin around his eyes were puffy from the salty tears. Without thinking, she walked right up to him and asked him what was wrong. Her parents were astonished when the little boy spoke a blubbery French back to Alaska.
"Honey, he doesn't understand you." her mother said with a worried look.
Alaska waved her mother off. What was she talking about? The little boy was sobbing about how he lost his mother by the water fountain and came here were he was earlier. Calmly Alaska took the boy's hand and calmed him down in fluent Creole. Her parents looked at her in awe because Alaska had never learned any other language other than English. They were so proud that their daughter was a genius. The thought that she was a mutant never occurred to them.
It wasn't until the year she turned 14 they became worried for her. By this time, she and her parents knew she was fluent in 23 different languages. Her parents were proud to have such an intelligent daughter, but bragging wasn't their style. Alaska had never thought that she was a mutant until she accidentally knocked over her father's priceless china vase.
It was all in slow motion for her. The stand started to wobble and the vase made a circular motion to stay balanced. Alaska reached her hands out as if to catch it before it shattered on the ground. But the deafening crash never came. The flowered vase was frozen inches from the wood floor. Alaska on the other hand fell on her face, but the vase still in the air. Carefully she grasped the handles of the vase and placed it on the now stationary stand. Her heart was racing ever so fast. What was happening to her? Was she now a mutant? Would her parents hate her?
For the next four years, Alaska never tried to use that power again. She kept quiet whenever her parents talked about the mutants. They where in a taxi cap one afternoon when a car speed through a street light and headed for the left side of the car. The red drag racing car didn't look like it made any effort to slow down. Just as it was a hair length away from the left taxi door, Alaska put her hands up to brace herself for the collision. Immediately the car stopped. Amazingly enough, the driver was frozen also. It turned out that he just robbed a bank, cops were instantly pointing their guns at the statue like criminal.
Without any questions her parents hauled her off to the Xaviers . Alaska's parents never said good bye as they drove away in their limo. Shame was written across their faces because their daughter was one of them. A mutant. After being there since a young teen, Alaska has grown into a young woman. Her control over her power has increased dramatically, only having spurts of her "freezing" out breaks due to her emotions, Now that Apocalypse has tried to force a new world onto the one she and her friends have made, she must grow up even further if she wants to help those humans that persecuted her. Just because she knew it was the right thing to do.
