Jean-Paul is an attractive young man. He has grown from an awkwardly cute teenager to a rather attractive young man. His raven black hair is cut a little shorter than he used to keep it and styled slightly. His blue eyes stand out from his swarthy dark features and contrast strikingly. His sharp jaw is covered by a slight stubble and bring out his soft and supple lips. He has kept his weight the same. He has always had a thin frame on account of his faster than normal metabolism but he has grown several feet taller. He also has slightly pointed ears.
He tends to dress a little more professionally now. He has grown into not only an Olympic athlete but a savvy businessman. He has expensive tastes and tends to go more towards the higher end labels. When not doing public endorsements or teaching he tends to dress more casually. While sticking with his love of fine clothes he tends towards t-shirts and high end jeans. He tends to wear minimal jewelry because it weights him down when he uses his powers. He tends to stick to a simple gold ring and a necklace.
His Northstar uniform is rather simple. A simple full black body suit with a white star shaped neck that comes to his shoulders and a white star emblem on his right side. His suit is made from a special material that is designed to never tear when he uses his powers.
Skills: Jean-Paul beaubier is a french-Canadian and as such speaks both French and Canadian French. Being trained in a circus as a young teen he is an accomplished performer, Trapeze artist and acrobat. He is also an acclaimed novelist as well. He is also a world-class professional skier and skilled in Aerial combat. He has a teaching license as well.
Personality: Jean-Paul is an impatient man, he waits for the rest of the world to catch up to him. He is always five paces ahead of everyone else and it irritates him to no end. This is why he comes off as cold and quite irritable to others. He is a man of class and sophistication but not one of tact. He grew up in a world of money and class after he was adopted. He loves the world of nice things and beautiful people. He is not considered very social but loves a good party. When he cares for a person he cares deeply, especially his sister. When it comes to her he is extremely protective. He has not outgrown his love of pulling pranks on unsuspecting victims and has taken it a bit further by video taping said pranks and posting them on YouTube.
As a teacher and public figure he is not much different. He is serious about his role as a spokesperson. He tends to be aloof but always ready to please his fans. He signs autographs, takes pictures, and does interviews. As usual he is an over confidant pompous ass but people still tend to love him. He is proud of being gay and even prouder of being Canadian is an outspoken gay rights activist. His students tend to see him as bossy and a little cold. He tends to move through lessons fast and doesn't slow down for anyone. He gets frustrated with students who can't keep up and can be rather tough on students he sees has potential but don't try hard enough. He does tend to play favorites with his students especially those who remind him of himself.

Mutant Abilities:
Super human speed: Jean-Paul posses the ability to propel his body at superhuman speed, almost near the speed of light. Through concentration he can channel a portion of the kinetic energy of the atomic motion in his body's molecules in a single direction. He can also move a portion of his body at super speed as well.
Flight: Ability to propel himself through the air. To hover in mid-air Northstar applies thrust downward in a carefully controlled manner. Northstar can breathe at somewhat higher rates due to training.
Accelerated Metabolism: possesses a boosted metabolism that can be used to heal wounds quickly.
Enhanced Durability: as a side effect of partially robbing his molecules of their atomic motion, the binding forces within and between the molecules increase. This enhances the sheer toughness of Northstar's entire body. This effect gives his skin enough durability to withstand the ravages of wind, friction and air turbulence.
G-Force Compensation: ability to use his super speed to automatically compensate for any G-Force difference.
Photokinesis: can generate from his body a bright white light equivalent at maximum intensity to half million-foot candles. He does so by varying the rate of acceleration of the molecules of his body out of phase with one another, thereby generating a cascade of photonic discharges
Gestalt Photokinesis: Should he link hands with Aurora, they could generate a light equivalent to a lighthouse beacon (one million foot candles) by each sibling’s varying the rate of acceleration of his or her own molecules out of phase with those of the other’s.
Weaknesses: Despite his advantages Northstar is still vulnerable to most forms of attacks. Even with his enhanced durability he can still be stabbed, shot and other attacks such as that. Also Northstar has no defense against telepathic based abilities.
Northstar must also be careful because his abilities allow him to move at speeds that far exceed his bodies own ability to withstand or survive. If Northstar pushes himself too much his body will begin to rip itself apart and he won’t be able to breath. If he is traveling with a passenger he must only travel at a speed of 60 MPH or he could cause his passenger bodily harm.
He is extremely close and protective of his sister and people could use their bond against him. He is also protective of his students. JP is rather impulsive and tends to act before he thinks. He gets into a lot of trouble because his body reacts first his mind soon after causing himself to be placed in dangerous situations.
History:
Jean-Paul Beaubier was born in Montreal he was the first born twin, his sister coming a second after. His parents died in a terrible car accident when a drunk driver struck their car. With no immediate relatives the twin children were taken to an orphanage. His sister was soon adopted by a loving family but the family could not adopt both children and so Jean-Paul was left behind at the orphanage. He ran away from the orphanage and like many children tried to join the circus. He was turned away but was then taken in when the tight wire walker took pity on the orphan.
The acrobat Raymonde Balmount took the child under his wing and helped him learn the ropes of the circus. He learned everything he could about the death defying acts of an acrobat and seemed to have a knack for the gymnastic skill and grace it took to perform. He loved his life in the circus and his new found friendship with the older Balmount. It was because of this friendship with the acrobat that Jean-Paul came to terms with his budding abilities and his sexuality.
The time came when Raymonde needed to retire. He became involved in politics hoping to change the world for gay men and women. Beaumont decided to fully and legally adopt Jean-Paul and the two moved. Raymonde soon got a job as an Ambassador for the Canadian government and moved himself and Jean Paul to America. Jean-Paul excelled in school especially in track and field but soon came face to face with his first taste of mutant bigotry. He was told that he must give all his medals back because it was believed he was using steroids. This hurt Beaubier more than even his adopted father realized. Enraged and embarrassed he contemplated committing suicide before he was stopped by representatives from the Xaiver institute. They stopped him and asked if he wanted to join their team. He turned down the offer remembering his fathers warnings about Xaivers school of trouble makers and vigilantes.
Soon after this incident Balmount was approached by Frost offering Jean-Paul a position in her illustrious school. Raymonde thought this was the best opportunity for his son and sent him to the school. Beaubier enjoyed his time at the school and learned a lot not only about himself but about his abilities as well. He graduated soon after and took up professional skiing on a whim. He soon found himself enamored by the sport. He was soon skiing in a professional level and was signed up to join the Olympics. Yet again his skills were called into question and he was disqualified from the Olympics because of the belief he was on steroids. He soon gave up the sport and wrote a book titled "Born Normal". It became a best seller and he began to tour the world. It was on one of his book tours that he was asked by representatives of the Massachusetts academy to join their staff. Being offered a huge sign on bonus he accepted in the hopes of helping to teach the next generation of mutants. Jean-Paul joined the staff as their French professor.

"That is all class. You are all dismissed." Jean-Paul's voice rang through his last period french class. The bored look on his children's face ran a warm knife in the Canadians heart. He understood the apathy of the average teenager but how could ones soul not light up at the sound of the french language. He let out a defeated sigh and waved the children out. When the last child left he took off his black rimmed glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Kids today" he sighed to himself letting out a small smile.
It had only been a few weeks since he had accepted the position as a teacher at the school he himself had graduated from. He remembered his own youth running down the halls, pulling pranks on the teacher and just being a plain pain in the ass. A broader smile crossed his face as the memories began to flow. To be young and free again he thought as he sat back in the leather chair each class room was furnished with his long legs hitting the mahogany wood of his desk. No matter how much he missed being a kid he would never give up the joys of being an adult. Inattentive students and all.
He could feel that hidden energy that always lingered deep inside him start to bubble up without a second thought he sped out of the classroom in a blur. A trail of paper was all that was left in his wake as he ran from his class room and through the courtyard of the school in seconds. Anyone who knew Beaubier knew that this could only mean one thing....Trouble for some poor unsuspecting victim of one of his many pranks.
