There was a show on tonight, Gilgamesh were playing in one of the biggest metal clubs in town. The crowd would have a few hundred people in it, at least. Everything however, was prepared, equipment was set up and he had been getting the green lighting on everything else, from the elaborate lightshow to the pyrotechnics. Rex always had elaborate light shows, brought a whole other level to it, he knew he could provide some hardcore Death Metal, so it was just a matter of making it an all round good show.
"Alright....lets get Metal!" he roared as he took up his Gibson Explorer, while a small burst of pyrotechnics revealed the band to the crowd.

The orange mutate had snuck out of the Institute, simply because she needed to get away for a bit. She'd been working on her own to learn to speak, and had been making some pretty good headway as far as she was concerned. But being couped up in the building and limited to the grounds had been driving her insane. She had a place to go back to and that was all she really wanted. However, she'd spent so many years being able to go where she wanted and when, that being stuck took it's toll. That's how she found herself roaming New York once more.
During her exploration of the streets she knew so well, Cid's ears seemed to twitch when she heard the music start up. Curiously she followed the sounds and they led her to the club. The mutate tugged her hood up, and checked her gloves. Her tail was wrapped around her waist like a belt and she carefully made her way into the club. As usual, she kept to the shadows and watched as the band wailed out a song. It really wasn't her kind of music but it intrigued her none the less. Carefully she inched her way closer, until she was at the left side of the stage, up close and in shadow.

The music started, the people danced, as one song blended into another the mutant known by some as Shredder had some banter with the audience, telling an anecdote about the next song, introducing the rest of the band, like Trevor the Bassist or Pickles the Drummer. Rex truly loved the attention, being up there doing what he did best, Death Metal, melodic death metal to be precise. He was honest enough to admit that he did it for kicks, for money, for attention. He usually phrased it as a joke however.
It was just during the third song, while he was proving his name shake by shredding on his axe that he spotted someone up real close to the stage, a sexy little maiden hidden away to the left. She had a hood up, in an already rather dark setting, but he had an eye for a looker. Giving a wink in her direction, before bowing so his guitar would hang low for some show off playing. She was pretty indeed, if a little hard to see.

Cid tilted her head and would glance out and watch the people dance. She herself was dancing a bit in the shadows until she felt eyes on her. When she glanced up to see who was looking at her, her hood fell back just a bit. When the guy winked at her, reptilian eyes blinked back at him. Quickly she turned her head to see who he was winking at. As she did so, her hood fell and a sheet of black hair fell down her shoulders.
Once more she turned back to look up at the man on stage, quickly pulling her hood back up. However, she couldn't help herself and she gave him a shy smile in return for the wink. She'd figured out it was directed at her. When he bowed she gave him a little finger wave and her grin widened.

Progress was made, the girls hood fell down for a moment and Rex was treated to a better look of her face and head, his ability to pin point the prettiest thing in an area hadn't failed him yet. Even more to his delight, her smile and little wave suggested that she seemed to as happy with his attention as he was by hers. The music kept playing, he sang and got made sure never to leave up on the hard metal. Every few moments though, his eyes would flick by to the girl at the left of the stage.
Another pair of songs went by and Shredder watched, perhaps his little maiden in the audience would come out of her shell, she seemed quite content to hid in the shadows, hood up. It was almost as if she was hiding, nothing seemed dangerous in the area, then again, the people moshing up front where getting pretty sweaty.....the hood would keep projectile sweat from hitting her head. Or people who spilled beer everywhere.

The reptilian like girl was dancing with the music, off in her own little world. Her head moved back and forth. If her hood was down, her hair would have been flying around her face. A smile was on her lips as she moved to the music, in her own way. Her tail would uncoil ever so often and move to with her. Once in awhile she would look up and find the man looking at her. It was kind of throwing her off that he wasn't looking at her like she was a freak. But kind of the way that some of the boys at school looked at the other girls. It made her feel special.
Cid had to stop dancing because she was getting thirsty, but she didn't have any money on her to buy a drink. Two other reasons she was in the shadows, no cash, and she was only seventeen. It was the music that drew her in, but now the man on stage had grabbed her curiosity, so she was loathed to leave at this point. So, she shoved her hands in her pockets and leaned against the stage, watching him in fascination. His energy was appealing to her as well.

While there wasn't much light shining on the audience, there was plenty of lights hitting the band, the heat of which, combined with the effort Shredder was putting into playing a good show, singing his heart out and working the guitar with as much effort. He was the front man, and he made sure he deserved that position, he wrote their songs, and he was the star of the act. He knew it, and most of the audience knew it.
That, and of course he was putting in that extra little effort for his little catch in the corner, the girl in the hood. With the show now six songs in, in a ten son playlist, he knew it was an ideal time to start hammering home the interest, and letting his play carry it away. During one moment when he had a break from vocals, with the drumming making a back up vocal but leading the verse, he waited until she was focused on him, before gesturing a little kiss, if his mouth was partially behind the mic.

The young girl was trying to catch her breath, so she was able to just lean back and watch. The mosh pit was definitely something she wasn't interested in. She was actually surprised that she enjoyed the music, since it wasn't really her style. But then she'd never heard it before either. Might not be something she listened to everyday, but definitely something to keep in mind.
Her reptilian gaze flicked toward the man on stage once more, and they widened briefly at the kiss gesture. Nervously a forked tongue flicked out over her lips and she looked around. Maybe he was actually paying attention to a different girl. To say Cid was surprised was an understatement. She wasn't used to being flirted with, yes she knew it was flirting. She just didn't know how to do it back. So she kissed the palm of her hand and blew the kiss his way. Now, he had her curiosity caught. She wasn't going anywhere until he was done and gone.

She had returned every show of interest he had made with something similar, he required no more signs, Shredder was satisfied that she was as curious about him as he was about her. With renewed vigour and a wave of excitement hitting over him the young musician drove himself on to further acts of Metal and showboating, swinging his head about, his hair like a windmill at points, one foot propped up on a speaker, the microphone on one hand. Yes....young Rex Brannigan was in his element, and loving every moment of it.
The audience picked up on his renewed energy, and what he put into them they gave back to him, as such the rest of the playlist went very well. When the last song ended, with a little burst of more pyrotechnics followed by the band making various fist pumps and dio symbols they stepped off. A fresh and very much needed towel was waiting for Rex, it was understandable he had been sweating, the effort he had put in combined with the lights that had been focused on him, made for hot business. Still, the place was rather packed, so the audience seemed to be as sweat soaked as he was....lovely.
Walking out afterwards, a few people along the way raising a hand for a high five or a fist pump, he made his way through, like a hunter seeker going after a target to zoned in on the girl he had spotted. Catching sight of the hood, the metal front man walked over. "Hey." he started. "What's your name?" he asked with his rough, gravelly voice, a smirk playing on his face.

The girl couldn't help herself, she started rocking out all over again, when he picked up the energy. Now Cid wasn't one to 'check' guys out, her mind didn't work that way. But between being spliced with an creature and a girl's instinctive nature, she couldn't help but find Shredder attractive. The problem was, she had no idea what she was supposed to do about it.
Once he was done she figured he'd be swallowed up by the crowd. It hadn't escaped her notice that she was getting some mean looks from some of the other girls, and she knew it wasn't because she was different. She felt the looks every time he did something firty towards her. Little did she knew these were long time groupies who followed the band everywhere.
When she realized the music was over for good, she was getting ready to slip out, when he materialized in front of her. Reptilian eyes widened and she tugged the hood down as far as she could to cover her face, her tail had wrapped around her like a belt, once more. He smelled good, which was odd since he was all sweaty. "H...Hi." She was still trying to get a hang on the speech thing. "Cid. You?" The girl peeked out from under her hood at him. As some passed by they bumped into her and she stumbled against him. "Sorry." Her hood fell back and she looked up at him. Then she waited for the reaction she knew would come.

"I'm Rex." he replied with a confident smile, when the girls bumped into her he brought his arms up to brace her, in case she stumbled over or something of the sort. "Fucking watch it you jack off skanks!" the vocalist spat at the girls as they walked off. They just flipped him off, the ever uncaring attitude of these people.
A moment later the youth turned back to the girl, Cid, not too bad. Like Sid Vicious, even if he was bit of a tool in the end of the day. A mighty tool in fact. "You want something to drink?" he asked, now that the pussy posse were well and gone.

Cid blinked up at him and grinned when he gave her his name. "Rex." Her grin widened into a smile. When the girls had bumped into her, her hands had landed on his chest. She'd never been this close to a guy before and it not be a fight. When he stood up for her, her eyes widened. "Thank.. you." She nodded her head and gave him a hug for standing up for her, as is her nature.
When he asked if she was thirsty she shrugged a bit and then leaned up and whispered in his ear. "No money." It didn't dawn on her that he might buy her one, or that he would have her kicked out for not having any cash.

"Wait here a second." he replied, chicks trying to score a free drink, luckily she was cute....if a bit....exotic looking. He liked it though, it was an interesting exotic. Regardless, the young musician carried himself over to the bar, getting attention for a drink was easy when you were one of the performers. "Get a JD and redbull....and..." he looked back to her, trying to ponder what she'd enjoy, might as well go with something easy to down. "...a vodka and orange." As it would happen....her being orange had nothing to do with the choice of drink.
With the drinks in hand, Rex made his way back over to Cid, offering the purchased vodka and orange. He couldn't help but wonder how she'd handle her alcohol, she didn't strike him as a heavyweight, she was too small. "Get that in yeah, it'll do you well." he replied, before starting into his own drink.

When he told her to wait, Cid nodded and stood there, in the exact spot he left her, and shoved her hands into her pockets. Reptilian eyes looked around the place curiously. She had no idea that the young man was buying her a drink, she had never asked him for one, just stated that she didn't have any money to buy her own. Cid never once thought the young man would actually buy her drink, nor did she think she deserved him to. The orange girl rocked back and forth on her heels and whistled tunelessly, completely ignorant of the looks some others were giving her.
Her head tilted as he came back holding two drinks. She automatically took the one that he offered her. "Thank you." She new the orange juice, but there had been something a bit different from regular orange juice about the drink. She didn't know what, so Cid sipped it carefully. The girl might be ignorant of a lot of things, but she wasn't going to down a drink from a total stranger. Well, at least not unless she had met a new student at the mansion. "You sing good." So her social skills weren't completely up to snuff. She was working on it.
