Kelly curbed the giggle and the eye roll when he blushed at the kiss on the cheek. Oh she knew that neither of them would read anything into it. If she ever had to describe how she felt about Scott to anyone, it would be that stiff older brother, that she loved to annoy in an attempts to loosen him up. Besides she had Bobby and she was so happy with him, she kept smiling, and she was pretty sure her feet haven't touched the ground in a while too. But that's could just be her.
The blond knew that he'd never stop being who he was, she was just worried he'd end up in an early grave if he wasn't careful. He has a lot of pressure, being a teacher, the leader of the X-Men, having to deal with Jean's inability to control some facets of her powers, and that's not even the pressure he puts on himself. She nodded at his comment. "That's because you can see the target and it's a straight shot. On the table, it's not always so cut and dry. You might not think you have a shot because you can't see the angle." She nodded and rechalked her cue stick. She lined up the shots and sank two more before looking at him. "I'm worried about you. Too much stress isn't good for your health."

Scott raised an eyebrow, smirking a little when she said about stress...he didn't think he was stressed, granted he had quite a lot of responcibilities...what with leading his Squad, training to be a teacher and the whole helping in the war against Apocalypse...thing but he believed he managed it well and not enough to effect his health.
His smile disappeared though when he realised Chain was actually, genuinly worried about him....did he give people cause to be worried? he didn't think so...but perhaps he did. Leaning on his pole, even though it was his turn to shoot he kept looking at Kelly. "I think I'm okay...I mean I feel okay, stress can be there sometimes...but I don't think I'm stressed a lot, do you?"

Her head tilted as she studied him. She absently wondered if he was one of those that flourished under pressure. Even they got sick didn't they? Honestly, she believed if they didn't register it, then they were more than likely a higher risk of a heart attack. When he asked his question, she looked up at him. "I think you don't know it. You have the pressure of being the leader, a teacher, and a boyfriend to someone who is going through a lot. You don't slow down, you seem to bottle it in, whether you know it or not. I just worry since you seem to thrive on it, but I'm not sure how it affects you physically. You know what I mean?" Kelly leaned against the pool table and looked up at him. He was a great guy and she didn't want to see him end up hurt by something that could be avoided.

Scott paused for a moment to take in what Kelly had said and to process it. It was true he often put himself under a lot of pressure, he found though that it worked. When he was underpressure he was forced to make sure that his decision was the right one and he felt much better after when it all went well.
So perhaps he wasn't getting a thrill on the pressure, after all feeling pressured sucked...but the thrill of being under that pressure and then everything working out? yeah that was pretty awesome, he let out a breath he was suprised to find out he was holding before he said "I suppose...but that's just the way I operate, the way I always have and so far it's worked. I guess it might have reprocussions in later life, but I kinda feel it might be worth it...if I can use the stress to make today better"

The blond tilted her head and nodded at his words. "If that's how you really feel. I just wanted you to know I was worried and as soon as you do start to feel it's too much, take a breather. Alright?" Scott was a great guy and there weren't many of them out there anymore. To lose one would be a travesty and she didn't even know what Jean would do. But he was right, he'd been like this for as long as she knew him and she doesn't ever remember him even getting sick. Huh. Maybe there was something to it. "I don't think I have ever met anyone that handle pressure as good as you. The only time I could was in cheerleading comps. Keep up the good work. Who's turn?" She looked over the table having forgotten which of them just took their shot.

Scott nodded when she spoke about taking a breather. It was good advice he supposed, he just had too much work to do to. Maybe when he work was done he could relax a little? whenever that was... either way he had too much to do and could not drop it just for fun, who didn't find work fun anyway?
He let a small smirk come over his mouth as Kelly asked who's turn it was, of course Scott had been paying attention, that's what happened when you paid attention to the rules...you remembered important details like this. "It is my turn I believe...you potted two before we started to talk. Good thing one of us is paying attention... he gave a teasing wink as he walked over to aim up his shots.

Kelly was pretty sure her concerns were being taken into consideration, but he really didn't see the problem. He'd always been the responsible one, so it was all second nature to him. Who knows, maybe the pressure was actually good for him, since he seemed to thrive under it. She just didn't want them to have to bury him due to a heart attack at forty or even before. But he seemed to be alright, she hadn't really seen any signs of strain, but then it's not always visible.
Blue eyes rolled at his smirk, and she chuckled. Of course he knew whose turn it was. "You really do have an eye for details. Alright, so if we are just playing for fun, want to make a little wager? Not necessarily money, but if you win, what do you want?" She arched a brow at him, in a bit of a challenge, a small smile played around the corners of her mouth. Scott was cool and he was actually funny. She could see why Jean snapped him up when she did.

Scott raised an interested eyebrow as Kelly asked about a wager. Not for money...but for something else? hmm...well he was glad it wasn't for money, after all organised gambling was strictly against school policy...though did this count? as it was hardly organised. Either way, he didn't have to think about any of that. He just had to think what he was going to bet against Kelly.
It had to be something that would be of benefit to him and something that Kelly wouldn't want to do in return. He was sure she'd have something equally unpleasent for him in return "Well...hmm, how about this? if I win you have to clean and wax the jet...every day for a week? sound fair?"

Arms folded across her chest, the blond tilted her head and watched him as he tried to figure out if it was legal or not. There wasn't really anything wrong with betting for fun but Scott was a stickler for the rules and she knew for a fact that the rules stated 'for monetary gain'. But she was going to let him work that out for himself. Kelly was pretty sure he had the rules and every handbook in the vicinity memorized.
Blue eyes blinked at him. "Every day.... for a week? Seven days? Oh, that's just cruel. Fine. Um, if I win... You have to take two hours, ever day, for a week, and not do anything that has to do with work, missions, or anything like that. Not reading strategy guides and all war games are off limits." Her hip cocked to the side and she rested her hand on said hip. She wondered if he'd take it and which one had the worst punishment.

Scott let a slightly bemused smile play over his lips, it seemed like Kelly was really getting on this whole 'relax' thing that she was pushing. So much so that Cyclops' forefit for losing the bet was actually to relax more? and if he wanted to relax he could just plan a mi...oh wait, he had to do something that wasn't working related. Okay maybe this would be harder then he thought.
He paused, the smile no longer on his face as he considered the option "I'm supposing the hours that I sleep couldn't be considered to be...y'know relaxing? because I relax quite a lot when unconsious

Just ask Bobby, Kelly was a steamroller and if she wanted something, or worried about something.. Well she would do whatever she needed to get what she wanted or take care about those she worried. He could hate her or thank her later, she really didn't care. She was worried about him, between work and the problems Jean was having, and his own need to always be in control, well, she didn't want to take that chance.
"Nice try, but no. Go for a walk, spend a quiet night with Jean, watch a comedy, play a video game that isn't some sort of war game. Have a small get together with your friends and talk about their day, joke, that kind of thing." She was really beginning to wonder which one would have it worse, at this point. He was trying awfully damn hard.

Scott found himself chuckling a little as Kelly started to hand out suggestions if things he could do. She was probably right anyway, he could use a bit more relaxing. He did work himself very hard, this bet might go his way though but even if he won he supposed he could try to lighten up on his work load a little...even if it was for an hour or so a day. If Kelly was concerned for him he supposed others would be as well and if he didn't do it for himself he could at least do it for them.
He glanced at the table, gripping his cue in between his hands. The game was fairly well balanced, though he'd guessed Kelly was the supirior player. Until now he assumed she'd been giving him an easy ride, that would probaly end now they were no longer 'playing for fun' he glanced back to Kelly and asked "Alright then Kelly...deal, was it my turn?"

Kelly didn't know what was going on in his head. She often thought that his mind worked as such. Jean, training, strategy, lessons, Jean, strategy, training, lessons, Jean, lessons, training, strategy, and so on. Whenever she thought of that, it made her giggle, there was nothing wrong with it, and it was better than what she thought went through most guy's heads. There was way more to Scott then a lot gave him credit for, he really cared about people, and each loss, she believed, he took personally. She wondered how often he blamed himself.
The blond watched as he gripped the cue stick and knew they were going to be getting down to business. A small smile tugged at her lips at his question. "I believe you said it was your turn." She waggled her brows and stuck out her tongue before taking a drink from her soda. This was going to be fun.

Scott gave Kelly a small confident smirk. He placed the cue over one shoulder as he walked over to the area where he would take his shot. The game was now getting interesting, Scott wasn't exactly the most competitive of people...well it depended on the circumstances, if he was facing logan he'd have to fight the temptation to crack him in the head with the cue in order to win. With Kelly he could afford to be a little more relaxed about it.
He lined up his shot, deciding to take the easiest shot. It wasn't perfect but it would have to do he struck it a little to the side so it would go diagonal. He struck true but his aim was a little off. It went to the right corner but bounced off the side a little, making it an easy next pot , he just hoped Kelly missed to. Nodding to her he said "There you go. Hope you've got better luck"

Kelly grinned in response to the smirk. He really was adorable. Not her type, but adorable none the less. She shook her head and leaned back against the wall to watch. "You really think you can beat me, Scott?" She snickered and stuck her tongue out at him. It was anyone's game, he could get lucky, or she could get really unlucky. Technically, who won didn't matter, it's all about the fun.
A brow arched as he lined up his shot. Ah, so that's how they were playing it now. She could handle that. Kelly coughed lightly to cover a snicker when he missed his shot. She pushed off the wall and nudged him away with her hip, before lining up her shot. She aimed carefully, and just missed the ball going in by a breath. One little bump to the table..... A soft sigh escaped and she dropped her head. "No such luck."
