Name: Jonothon “Jono” Evan Starsmore
Age: Eighteen
Place of Birth: London, England
Applying too: Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters
In what capacity: Student
Family: Mr and Mrs Starsmore (Parents)
Height: Five foot nine
Weight: One hundred and forty pounds
Appearance:
Skills:
Jono is a talented musician, displaying aptitude with both the Electric Guitar and Bass. He was, before his powers manifested, also an exceptionally talented singer, however his talent naturally been removed from the proverbial table. Due to some “altercations”, both before and after his powers manifested, he also has quite a lot of skill when it comes to handling himself in a fight; however it mostly falls in the category of dirty street fighting and barroom brawler techniques rather than anything refined. Jono also shows a keen intellect and is a quick learner when it comes to his studies, especially those that suit his mindset.
Personality:
Before his powers manifested Jonothon Starsmore was something of a rebellious teen, constantly acting up to get attention and to look cool in front of his friends. Naturally since then he’s calmed down significantly thanks in no small part to his powers, and the bad boy side of his life has been taken over by a more jaded pessimistic side.
While initially reluctant to form any form of relationships with his fellow students, Jono has over the last year or so started to grow more accustomed socialising amongst them. He does however still tend to stay to the sidelines; avoiding heavy crowds for the most part, and will only weigh in once he feels a bit more comfortable with the company. He can however be outspoken when irritated or if he feels strongly about a particular subject, and has an alarming habit of speaking the truth as he sees it with very little regard to who it offends.
His temper also has a tendency of getting the better of him however, not to mention the simple fact that no one could accuse him of being the most patient and understanding individual going, and has often caused him to dig himself into a whole heap of trouble on more than one occasion.

The Mutant
Codename: Chamber
Mutant Abilities:
Jono is a mutant that, in his natural for, is comprised of pure psionically charged biokinetic energy, housed in a physical shell. During the process of his power’s emergence, it obliterated a sizeable chunk of his chest and lower face, completely incinerating most of, if not all of, his internal organs and replacing it with a psionic biokinetic flame. Thankfully, his new powers have enabled him to survive despite this massive setback, completely removing his need to eat, drink, or even breathe. In addition, since the flames of his power are psionic in nature, they themselves aren’t affected by the constraints one would normally find with a actual naked flame, e.g. lack of fuel, oxygen, exposure to water, etc.
Via a period of trial error, Jono has also learned that his new found power could also lend itself to more than just acting as “life support”, but could in fact use his “biokinetic flame” as a weapon, not to mention harness his Psionic powers to make up for the fact he could no longer talk thanks to a lack of lower jaw, vocal cords, or even a tongue.
- Biokinetic Force – By unleashing the psionic energy from his body, Jono can strike out with a concussive force, use it to serve as a generic flame, or cause inanimate objects to explode violently by forcefully disrupting molecular bonds. It is also theorised that Jono could, one day, utilise his power to rebuild his broken body, or even use his blast in creative ways, such as flying, however he currently lacks the fine control over his power to achieve any of this.
- Projection Telepathy – While differing from actual telepathy in the fact that Jono lacks the ability to read minds, he can nevertheless project his own thoughts and selectively “speak” to other people near him. Physical obstructions don’t affect this ability, but range naturally does, and Jono can only converse with people over a range of approximately thirty metres in all directions, or around fifty when focusing on one person in particular.
- Psionic Blasts – By focusing his psionic energy carefully, Jono can also project psionic force bolts which cause no ill physical effects to his target, but actually affects the person’s mind and can cause pain, unconsciousness, or even outright kill them provided the blast had significant force.
Weaknesses:
Mortality: While his body is now fully sustained by his nature as a psionic entity, Jono still requires sleep to fully function at his peak capacity. He is also still subject to physical damage, admittedly provided the blows, impacts, etc fall on areas that are not converted to biokinetic energy. Telepathy also still functions on Jono as normal.
Communication: Having blown out his lower face and chest, Jono has lost the ability to speak “normally” and therefore cannot talk to people by use of a telephone, or even utilise programmes like Skype beyond its video applications. His only means of communication therefore is his projection telepathy is limited via distance, his mental focus, and whether or not the target of his message can actually receive it.
Fear: Additionally, whether he’d admit it to himself or not, Jono is somewhat restrained in accessing his full power by subconscious fear that his body is gradually disintegrating each time he pushes it to his current limits. He is also afraid of his powers spiralling out of control like they did when the manifested, hurting more innocent people that he cares about.
History:
Jonothon Starsmore, or Jono as he prefers, hails from London, England, the son of two moderately wealthy accountants. From an early age Jono was brought up to be the model son, and put under immense pressure to do well both in and out of school.
Like most teens with overly controlling parents Jono quickly took to small acts of rebellion in attempts to attract the attention of his parents, small acts that eventually snowballed into full out revolt as time progressed, with Jono soon indulging in underage drinking and frequently getting himself into fights with anyone that looked at him the wrong way. It was also around this rebellious period that he quickly started to take an interest in music, falling into the traditional stereotype of forming a rock band with several likeminded individuals.
Surprisingly Jono and his band mates were actually talented, with Jono quickly establishing himself as quite talented with the electric guitar and also displayed an unexpected knack at singing that quickly led to his band developing a small underground following. Actually receiving the attention he craved, albeit from a source other than his parents, Jono soon began to calm down and enjoy his newfound fame and life, unfortunately however fate would deliver a curveball that would quickly bring it crashing down around him, a curveball in the form of his mutant heritage manifesting itself.
It all kicked off on one particularly eventful night when Jono was getting rather friendly with his current girlfriend of the time, Gayle Edgerton, in the coatroom, only for the moment to be fundamentally ruined by Jono’s lower jaw and chest exploding outwards and repainting the walls as his powers first manifested in a furious blast of psionic energy that also rendered poor Gayle paralysed and in a coma that she has yet to recover from.
His parents, having no idea of how to even start to explain what had happen to their son, quietly pulled him out of school citing “medical reasons” and started homeschooling him to the best of their ability. Jono however soon began to feel cut off from his friends, pitied by his family, not to mention feeling severe guilt over Gayle’s misfortune of being caught in the blast that robbed him of a normal life, Jono began edging his way down the path of depression.
Thankfully salvation came in the form of an invitation to join Professor Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, a place specialising in the education of mutants such as Jono, an offer that his parents quickly leapt upon, eager to both get their son the help he needed and quite likely just to get rid of him. Of course the initial adjustment to both his powers and new found classmates, not to mention having to cope with all the personal guilt he felt over Gayle, was a bit rocky to say the least, but eventually he somewhat managed to come to terms.
Now some two years since he first arrived at the Institute’s gates, Jono’s matured and, although some would argue he’s better at repressing them, managed to get a better handle over his personal issues. He still has a ways to go before he’s ready to rejoin the world, or even begin to start to develop a normal life – Well, as normal a life as one can get when your lower face and chest happens to share a striking resemblance to a blast furnace, not to mention the definition of normal wavering considerably thanks to recent events.
