++Application for Enrollment++
The Person
Name: Julian Keller
Age: Twenty Two
Place of Birth: Beverly Hills, California
Applying too: Massachusetts
In what capacity: Part time Athletics Coach/Part time Rich Layabout
Family: William Keller (Father), Elizabeth Keller (Mother), James Keller (Brother)
Height: Five foot ten
Weight: One hundred and seventy five pounds
Appearance:
Skills:
Julian is in exceptional physical condition for his size and age, possessing a finely tuned body that’s the end result of countless hours spent working. He’s a near prodigy when it comes to any form of sports, being fuelled by an almost preternatural sense of competition that’s driven him to throw his mind, body, and soul into achieving athletic greatness/glory. Needless to say he’s also capable of handling himself with or without the use of his powers, posessing a reasonable amount of talent in Scholastic/Collegiate wrestling and Amateur Boxing. Despite his mentality lending itself more to the lone wolf type actions, Julian oddly is well suited to work in teams and is a capable and talented leader due to the experience attained in the aforementioned sporting competitions.
Academically he’s surprisingly gifted, too, owing to several private schooling institutions before he arrived at the Academy, and has achieved a firm grasp on several languages (Spanish, German, and French) and is currently studying for a degree in Economics.
Personality:
Julian is quite frankly an arrogant, superior asshole. He’s got a chip on his shoulder with an over inflated ego to match, completely willing to throw down and square off against anyone that wants to even attempt to dissuade or disillusion him from whatever’s slipped into that stubborn brain of his. Julian’s pretty straight forward when it comes to his opinions, of which there are many, and he’s extremely ready to let you know just exactly what he thinks without any sign of hesitation. Of course this attitude was pretty much instilled in him from day one, his family raising him to have an overly active sense of competition. He has to be the best at whatever he does, he has to be right all the time in the arguments, simply because he can’t even stand to think about being anything but. Thankfully this has also caused him to be quite the tenacious and driven mutant that he is today, not willing to back down or shy away from a fight until he knows he’s won (or he’s lost so much he’s pretty much forced to agree that he’s “wrong”).
Oddly enough, despite all these glaring flaws and character faults, Julian can be somewhat charming, charismatic, and even likable on occasion should the mood strike him, much to many a person’s surprise. He’ll even show a side of his sense of humour which isn’t rude, crude, or personal at times, too. Of course, this is usually all only reserved for people he actually likes, or feels the need to impress. Despite his assertions to the contrary, he does in fact care a great deal about those few people he calls friends, and is intensely loyal to them to an almost unbelievable degree, even willing to swallow his pride and make sacrifices to the image he’s fought so hard to create and maintain if it’d protect them.
All in all, Julian Keller is pretty much the overly confident kid that’s grown into an even more overly confident adult as time has progressed. Sure he’s matured along the way, even toned some of it down so it’s not so bad, but he’s still very much not what anyone would call a good guy. Maybe average, at best, on a good day. Not that it matters to him, he’s very much come to the opinion that he is who he is, and who he is is someone he likes. Anyone that doesn’t share that view can go jump for all he cares.

The Mutant
Codename: Scion
Mutant Abilities:
Julian was given the mutant gift of Telekinesis when his powers manifested, allowing him to remotely manipulate and move objects (or even people) with his thoughts, with his current benchmark for maximum comfortable weight approximately thirty to forty tons. He is capable of throwing up protective shields of telekinetic energy that can withstand considerable force, and also project strong concussive blasts.
He is also fully capable of self-levitation and flight, achieving speeds of up to and around the mach two mark with little effort for several hours, and attaining much higher velocities for brief periods at considerable strain and taxation upon his body.
Julian has a lot of untapped raw potential that even he isn’t fully aware of due to a series of mental blocks, making him quite possibly one of the more powerful telekinetic mutants around should he ever find a way to tap into it.
Weaknesses:
Without a telekinetic shield to protect him Julian is very much as fragile as any other human, and can be hurt in the same ways you’d expect a normal person to be. Julian’s power also demands a moderate amount of concentration in order to function, although the actual degree needed has declined as his control has grown over the years, and therefore can be drastically affected or even nullified in extreme cases by the influence of drugs, alcohol, etc. Unlike a lot of mutants with similar powers out there, Julian’s telekinesis is accompanied by a glowing green light, making him somewhat less than subtle in a covert situation. Finally, while flying at high velocities may be awesome and fun, Julian’s reaction times aren’t on the same speed as his maximum potential, which can lead to some obvious mishaps if he’s not careful.
History:
To say Julian Keller was born with a silver spoon in his mouth would be somewhat of an understatement, in fact describing that proverbial spoon as anything but a jewel encrusted platinum monstrosity of capital expenditure could probably be considered an understatement. You see, his parents, William and Elizabeth Keller, were founders of a small town company that pretty much went international overnight, transforming them from folk barely managing to scrape by into veritable billionaires almost at the drop of a hat. So, yes, Julian Keller was born and raised with money being no object. And boy does it show.
Julian wasn’t the first son of the Keller family however, his brother James having arrived on the scene some few years before him, so, while money was never an issue for him, outdoing his brother was. His parent’s didn’t help of course, constantly comparing him to his older brother every developmental step of the way, fostering a deep sense of competition in the then impressionable boy that’s never quite managed to leave him since. Unfortunately, as competitive as Julian was, his brother was just that much better than him at every subject he applied himself to, and by the time he’d started school he was already considerably lurking in his brother’s shadow both there and in the home.
Thankfully Julian soon found the wonderful world of competitive sports, a place where his instilled mile wide competitive streak and urge to gain his parent’s attention was not only heavily encouraged, but lauded, too, by his peers. Naturally it didn’t hurt that, despite being second to his brother in academic pursuits, Julian was the naturally more athletic of the pair, and was for once at an advantage. The moment he realised that, he signed up to every single team and competitive event he could, throwing himself full heartedly (or close to considering he still had to keep up his academic performance if he wanted to rub it even more) into achieving the recognition he felt he deserved.
Of course not everyone saw the value of his super competitive drive, and by the time he eventually hit sixteen some had begun to grow weary of his constant need to be the best of the best. It started out with a few minor harsh words, nothing really noteworthy at first, but quickly plummeted in vicious downward spiral from there, eventually escalating to exchanges of blows. While Julian at this point was capable of handling himself in such encounters, he nevertheless happened to develop his powers during one such confrontation, smashing his opponent through glass window in a furious blaze of green light and earning himself a suspension in the process.
His parents were, shall we say, less than pleased by the development, and, while they still professed their love for him, he gradually noticed the shift of said love falling more and more firmly on his brother’s shoulders than his own. He didn’t take it well, and his parent’s viewed his lengthy string of rebellious acts in a similar, if not dimmer, light. Rebellious acts that resulted in the last straw when he managed to telekinetically flip his brother’s car into the family summer home’s swimming pool during an extravagant social event, causing untold damage just because... well... just because. From that point on he was practically disowned, forcibly cut off from the majority of his family’s money bar his sizable trust fund and all but cast out of the home.
It was sometime after this point that Julian would eventually land up at the Massachusetts Academy at his parent’s behest several months after it went public as a mutant school, not that he minded too much at this point, practically leaping both on the chance to further his control over his blossoming powers and to get away from his Parents and actually live his life for himself for once. From then on he didn’t really looked back, ploughing headlong into his new life, once more balancing himself between academic and athletic achievements.
Now, almost some five years later since he first arrived at the academy, Julian finally started to show signs that he’s actually begun to move on from the arrogant asshole that he once more, although many would argue the only signs he’s shown thus far are that he’s turned into an even bigger arrogant asshole. He’s recently begun studying for a degree in economics, too, and gained considerable control over his ability that he didn’t even dream of possessing when he first arrived. That said, Julian has no real idea where he plans to go from here on out, seeming to be stumbling at the transition from a member of the Hellions to arguably responsible and productive member of society, and is currently... well... not doing a lot beyond live off his trust fund while he tries to find some sort of place for himself, occasionally coaching a few of the athletic teams when the mood strikes him, and allegedly “studying”.
