Being the Praetor of the Imperial Guard, and having been in that position for several decades, Gladiator has received the highest standard of combat training the Shi'ar are capable of providing, improved by a vast amount of experience. This training covers weapon use, hand to hand combat and exercises. He has also received training from Deathbird.

Personality:
Gladiator is, above all else, loyal to the Majestor (or Majestrix) to the point that he has no opinion of an order, simply that it is from the Majestrix and thus must be performed. Even when not working on an order, he is quiet a serious individual. He takes his role very seriously, and is somewhat "never off the clock." While not totally avoid of other personality, fully capable of friendships and enjoying himself, his focus to his position as Praetor is certainly the dominant focus in his life. He is also.....extremely self confident.

Mutant Abilities:

Super Strength: Gladiator is possesses super strength that can rival anything on Earth, able to overpower people like Colossus with ease. It is believed by many that he is one of the physically strongest beings in the Universe. He can at least life any man made object. He wears a device on his belt that projects an invisible energy field, which prevents objects he lifts from collapsing under their own weight, this allows him to use very heavy objects as weapons.

Super Durability: Like his strength, Gladiator possesses incredible durability. He can withstand high caliber bullets, survive in space unaided, powerful concussive blasts, falls from tremendous heights, and blows from powerful superhumans such as the Juggernaut without sustaining injury. Gladiator is also highly resistant to extreme temperatures, particularly intense heat. He has shown himself to be capable of flying through stars completely unharmed, and has actually withstood the explosive power of a supernova unharmed.

Superhuman Stamina: Gladiator possesses extraordinary physical stamina. His muscles generate considerably less fatigue toxins then the musculature of human beings or most other known beings for that matter. Gladiator is able to exert himself at peak capacity for at least several days before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. It can be weeks before he is fatigued to the point of requiring rest.

Superhuman Speed, Reflexes & Agility: Gladiator possesses speed capable of rivaling any spaceship, allowing him to fly at beyond lightspeeds. When on planets, he limts himself vastly (to avoid damaging the surrounding environment) to roughly 770mph. He also has reflexes that allow him to keep up with his super fast movements, and anything else moving at those speeds. Gladiator's natural balance, agility, and body coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.

Flight: Gladiator is able to generate gravitons that enable him to fly. Gladiator's flight speed rivals those of the fastest known starships, and can achieve faster than light speeds in hyperspace.

Heat Beams: Gladiator is capable of firing highly concentrated beams of energy from his eyes. These beams are capable of reaching extremely high temperatures. The maximum temperature his beams can reach is unknown but they can reach temperatures hotter than that of Stars as they were shown able to burn through Hulk's skin.

Microscopic Vision: Gladiator possesses the ability to see extremely small objects and images beyond sub atomic level.

Super Breath: Thanks to his incredible lung capacity, Gladiator is also able to draw in large amounts of air and then expel it all to create gale and hurricane force winds. He can also chill his breath to freeze targets.

Psi Resistance: Gladiator is capable of causing a counter-force against telepathic assaults and probes. However, telepaths of sufficient power are capable of penetrating his psionic defenses to an extent.

Weaknesses: Almost every aspect of Gladiator's powers are based on his confidence, while generally very high, if any event were to cause a shake in his confidence it would bring down his powers. Gladiator's strength, durability, speed, reflexes, flight speed & the heat of his heat vision can all be vastly reduced by something lower his confidence by an equal degree. His confidence can also be lower through artificial means (such as telepathy) it would, however, require a suitably powerful telepath to get through his mental resistances first.

There is also a particular wavelength of radiation that appears to sap him of his powers and cause tremendous pain. It does not appear to be naturally occurring on Earth, but can be created with the right equipment.

History:
Much of Kallark's long history is both forgotten over the centuries, and highly classified. What is known to the public (of the Shi'Ar that is) is that he was born on Strontia, the native world of his people, and attended a specialized training academy that prepared Strontians to become "The Gladiator." Only a hand few made it to graduation, but it would be Kallark who earned the title. What is lost to time and government vaults however, is the particular assignment that earned him his role.

Kallark, having been trained to be utterly loyal to the Majestor (something his people, who firmly believe in duty and honour, instilled the utmost importance in) was brought before then then Majestor with the other graduates. The Majestor ordered the cadets to return to their homeworld and kill the Strontian Elder Council. Kallark was the only one loyal enough to do so. Since then, he has been Gladiator, Praetor of the Imperial Guard.

Over the last few centuries, he has held that role with unquestioning loyalty and the utmost professionalism, rarely departing from his station (it is rumored among some that one of these departures was to serve as a Herald to Galactus, but his loyalty to the Majestor brought him away from even that). When it was decided that the current Majestrix, Liliandra, would travel to the planet Earth to investigate energy traces of the Phoenix Force, Gladiator was the obvious choice to accompany her. Not only is he her ultimate bodyguard, but also has first hand experience in combating a phoenix force host.
