”Oh my god! I love this top. Very cool, very very cool.” The one know as Kitty or Shadowcat, gushed a bit over the top that she had just bought. It was really cute and looked great on the her. Kitty knew what looked good on her and what she was comfortable in. She didn't care if someone didn't like it, as long as she did it was fine. She squeaked a bit when the bell rang and she waved to her classmates as she danced off to class. It was dance and she loved it. The teacher was cool too.
There was some song playing in her head, so she was bebopping her way into the classroom right before the last bell rang. When she first got the academy she was a bit nervous, but she never let it show. It wasn't her style. Show them fear the older kids ate you alive, it was the truth of life for a high schooler. Now she was the older kid, fortunately for the younger generation she was pretty cool. Unless they annoyed her, then she'd pull a prank on them. She didn't have time to stop before she was about to collide with a fellow student so she phased right through them. ”Sorry!” Better a bit of weirdness then landing flat on her butt. At least that was how she saw it.

Tony was walking through the hallways of the school, trying to get accustomed to where all the class rooms were. Fashionably late he could do...that he didn't mind, but he'd be damned if he was going to be the 'huff...huff...sorry miss...got...lost' guy. He was never going to be that guy. He didn't actually have a class for a few hours but it was best to be prepared. His scientific equipment hadn't yet been moved in to the building yet so he couldn't work on his experimental power source either, he'd try to keep it a secret as long as he could...after all what he planned to do with it might be a tad controversial.
As he turned a corner and felt a strange sensation as a girl walked through him, the feeling was weird and he shuddered for a second as he was momenterially weirded out. With a calming breath he regained his composure enough to reply to her sorry. He gave her a small half mouth smile before he said "Oh no it's fine...just always considered that third date territory"

The bubbly young woman turned around at who she just ran through. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw who it was. No she didn't see 'Tony Stark' per se, she just saw a really cute guy. The wideness in her eyes went to normal and she gave him a flirty little smile and a wink. "We need a first date first." She grinned and held out her hand. "Kitty, also known as Shadowcat. And just consider that a bit of a teaser."' The brunette waggled her brows and laughed a bit. She was best described as a bundle of energy.
"You look a bit lost. Need some help?" The flirty nature of the girl shifted to experienced student in the matter of seconds. Her head cocked to the side as she looked up at him. He was new, she knew that much, now to learn a bit more.

Tony smirked, he meant to make a small off hand comment that would send her skipping along a few more steps before what he'd said occured to her and by then he was long gone, but this was definetly more fun. He might even have some dinner plans after this. "Well, you'll have to let me take you out to dinner some time then. he added before moving in to the introductions.
Reaching out he shook her hand and nodded at her name "Tony Stark, but they call me....Tony Stark. I don't think I've got a nickname yet, do I need a nickname? and I'm not quite lost. Just making sure when the time comes to have to find everything for real I'm not the guy who shows up looking flustered. I've got a reputation to uphold after all"

Kitty tilted her head and looked up at him with a smile. "I'd like that. Just let me know when you're free or when you want to. My schedule is pretty open." Yeah, she didn't believe in letting someone think there was more going on in her life then there was. A lot of girls might have made the comment about checking their schedule, but she figured life was too short to play those kinds of games. Besides, it could get annoying after awhile. Yet she didn't sound desperate for a date either. Which she was proud of. With the other girls around here, a girl had to be quick.
"Well it's a pleasure meeting you Tony Stark, and no you don't need a nickname. But you'll probably get one eventually." Her eyes widened at his comment about just getting to know the place and she grinned at him. "Well the best way to do that is with a tour guide. I just happen to be one." She winked up at him, her brown eyes sparkling. Her head tilted a bit. "And what reputation is that, Tony Stark." She just hoped she wasn't like annoying him or anything.

Tony smiled, well that was fairly easy. He now had a maybe date that needed to be arranged. He could arrange it now....but that might seem a tad desperate, much better to play it cool and bide his time. They lived in the same building so surely they'd wonder upon each other at some point soon. "Sounds good. Why don't I grab your cell number. Give you a call about it or something?"
It looked like she would be coming along with him on his walk. That was good, he could use the company. He gave her a sly look when she asked about his reputation "Oh you know, the cool and collected Billionare Playboy heir in waiting reputation. It has a lot of advantages when you maintain it.

Brown eyes sparkled at his response to her response. She took out a small pad of paper from her purse and a purple pen and wrote down her number for him. Honestly, she wasn't sure if he'd really call her, but at least he asked for her number. She handed him the piece of paper and smiled up at him. "I am also available for study dates, regular dates, and just hanging out if you want to gripe about the teachers and possibly other students." She gave him a wink and slid the pad and pen back into her purse.
She linked her arm in his and looked up at him when he explained his reputation. Brown eyes went wide at the description and she choked a bit. Oh boy, talk about out of her league. Well either way a guy needed friends right? "Well, that is quite a reputation to have to maintain. Is it alright if I just like you for your looks at first?" Kitty flashed him an impish grin to let him know she was just teasing him. The word 'billionaire' kept flashing through her head and it took everything she had not to audibly swallow in nervousness.

Tony took the piece of paper with the number on it and folded it neatly, placing it in his back pocket. Well the first task was done, he now had a number and a contact. He just hoped that all the girls at this school were as welcoming as Kitty seemed to be. If so he would be having a grand time.
As they walked on Tony was surprised when she linked arms with him. He didn't normally do this, after all it gave people the wrong idea. He allowed it for now though, after all he'd hate to get on the wrong foot so early on. "You can like me for whatever you like at first, you just picked one other good alternitive"

Honestly, Kitty didn't mean anything by linking her arm with his. She was just one of those people, who were a bit friendly. She never would have done it if she had known that he didn't like it. "What if I end up picking, because you are a cool person? Or because you are fun to hang out with? Or because you are good friend? Do those alternatives work as well?" The smile was there in her eyes, but the question was psuedo serious. The poor boy was going to have the girls all over him, that was a promise. Even if they don't know he's worth money. So, she figured, it would be nice for him to at least have a friend. If something other than that happened, then bonus. Right?

Tony continued to walk. He certaintly was getting a fair few compliments thrown his way...she certaintly was keen wasn't she? though he had the feeling the conversation had now moved away from the coy friendly zone, but he supposed it could be worse. Besides, he did have a lot to do still...he was nthe verse of completing his ARC reactor, then he could perfect his suit...and that was one of his main goals. So in responce he just smiled and nodded, saying "Hey, you pick whatever you want...I'm sure there are a whole bunch....so, where are we going anyway?"

Kitty didn't realize how nervous she had become until she started babbling to him. Oh lord, he must think she was a complete twit. Well, when facing impossible odds, retreat, right? The young girl slid her arm from his and slid her hands into her pockets. Truly, he made her more nervous then she had intended to be. At his question she turned and looked at him. ”Well, you know where your rooms are, right? Do you know where the dining hall is? That's usually the first place I'd take someone who is new to the place. Otherwise, if you let me know your schedule, I can show you were your classes are. Unless you want to know specific classes. I am completely at your disposal.” She flashed him the same warm grin that she'd given him already. The girl needed to take a few moments to get her head back together.

Tony thought hard, this was his first exploring time so he wasn't really sure where much was. He'd found his rooms already, that was easy enough but hte dining room he wasn't as sure of. He might as well have a look there, after all he can't get through with out a bit of food, would make it a lot easier then stumbling around looking for food himself.
"Well sweetheart, dining room sounds good for now. ou could tell me more about yourself on the way if you'd like" he smiled at her as they continued to walk, he hoped they were going in the right direction.

Kitty grinned up at him. "Food it is then. Um, what would you like to know?" She was really afraid she'd just start babbling to the point he'd want to ditch her to get her to shut up. So, she was treading lightly here, not wanting to give too much information, but not wanting to be all vague and stuff. "Well, you've already seen what my powers are. The whole phasing thing. Um, I like to dance and sing. And I really don't want to start sounding like a singles ad. You know, long walks on the beach and stuff like that." She flashed him another grin and led him around a corner, her hands in her pockets as she didn't want to throw herself anymore into his personal space as she already had. Honestly, phasing through someone and you get pretty personal. "What about you?"

Tony stuck his hands in his pockets as he walked along the hall, nodding occasionally as she spoke about herself. She was a dancer? wellhe could have probably guessed that the way she was moving down the hall when they collided but she managed get through the sentance with out revealing much...but if that was on purpous or not he didn't know. He knew what it was like to have things you did not want discussed.
He thought for a moment what to tell about himself. He decided modesty was probably the best way to go "Not much to tell really...born to a rich family in New York, ever since I can remember I've been building things, machines kind of...well they talk to me, which makes me sound delusional I'm sure but I hear them speak and can tell them what I want them to do. Anyway, my Dad sent me here to study business...and to be with other mutants I guess. I suppose he's wanting me to take over the empire one day"

Kitty hadn't meant to not give him information, she just never knows what to say when asked that question. It was so broad and so vague and she often found herself just babbling. Most often then not the people just look at her like she's nuts. They often didn't care about the excess information, they just wanted certain information and that was it.
When he said he that he talked to machines she grinned at him. "Doesn't make you sound delusional. It's not surprising, if your powers are centered around machines and stuff. I mean, no different then people talking to animals. Sure they might have been programmed but machines do hold information, right?" She tipped her head back and grinned up at him. "I am here because I am a mutant and I needed to learn to control my powers. Because let me tell you, waking up half on and half through my bed isn't always fun. However, at Halloween I make a damn good ghost."
