That little pink haired girl who had come to New York long ago- the one who had enjoyed flying and making friends and shopping- was dead. Long ago, in fact. The person who replaced her- with darker hair, less of a soul and magic skills? She was dead, too.
So what was left of Megan Gwynn, then?
Pestilence.
She flew high above the streets of Boston, her arms crossed over her chest as she looked down. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she watched the people below her. So puny and insignificant… It was only a matter of time before they all either fell or kneeled before Apocalypse. Every last one of them, including those X-Men she used to call her friends. They were only holding her back from her full potential, after all! She was so much stronger now, much stronger that she ever could have gotten with just the X-Men.
She curled her nose up in distaste, looking behind her at the helicopter that carried a load of the brood. They were disgusting. There were certainly much easier ways to kill someone without using giant bug-things. Using illusions to drive someone mad, for example- that had quickly become one of Pestilence’s favorite things to do. But Apocalypse wanted to use his new pets, and who was she to argue with him?
Her souldagger appeared in her hand with a flash, and she quickly sliced through the chain that was attached the helicopter. The crate of the brood fell to the ground and smashed open. Screams began only a second later, making an evil grin spread across her face.
