I saw this on another rpg I'm on and I'm in sock to find out this is going to happen. It seems Disney is buying Marvel if we're very lucky they wont mess with the characters to much and not sure what will happen to the non-kid friendly characters. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32626135/ns/business-media_biz/

Honestly, this isn't that big a deal. Disney owns a lot of stuff, and it doesn't soften it up. Take for example Dimension Films, Disney practically owns a lot of Horror films like Halloween and Scream. They even put out Insane Clown Posse's fourth Joker's Card the Great Milenko.
Disney usually screws up when it is totally behind something, like Hannah Montana. Yeah it sells well, but where's the substance? Just take a look at the Pixar films, they do well and many folks like them. I'm sure Disney acquiring Marvel won't do much to what already is, but we may get new styles or additions. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hannah Montana have her own Marvel comic book.
To me, Marvel has been sliding down hill for a while. Sure it has some good stories here and there, but the Silver and Golden Ages have come and past.

Well for me, it isn't so much that i don't think Disney can carry on the marvel series, it's just, I hate to see something that still had the possibility to accomplish so much, be bought out by a big-wig company like Disney. Again, I'm sure Disney will do everything in their power to hold true to the marvel we know and love, but to me, Marvel was one of those things that was awesome because it was in a league of its own. I know that in the grand scheme of things that everything will pan out, but to be honest, I can't say that I'm thrilled about it.

I feel the same way, Bishop, whenever any company is bought out by a corporate giant like Disney. I'm glad you mentioned that, it probably accurately describes the majority of people.

As far as I'm aware, they're leaving the current CEO to continue running it, so its just another company to produce revenue for them really, and give them a footing in the comic industry.
This does have its benefits though, Disney have massive advertising power, even more then Marvel. Its also a new cash source for Marvel's future movie/game and other projects.
