1) No Godmodding. This means no controlling other characters minds, thoughts, moves, etc.
2) No over perfect characters, try to have a balancing scale system for your characters, for every benefit a penalty.
3) If you're departing us for a while, let us know in the MIA board. Just so we don't delete your account.
4) No killing, this must be cleared with the character involved as well as admin.
5) Proboards T&C must be kept in mind at all times.
6) Respect people, worth more then cash. We won't go into the details of what is and is not rude, if someone is annoying you, make staff aware of the situation, let us help.
7) Don't Spam, not in the cbox, not in the threads.
8) Members may only work on one character application at a time.
9) There is no rule on post length, but please try to give people enough to work with. They'll prefer it and you'll find people will be more likely to post with you. Five lines is usually considered decent.
10) Signature's shouldn't be too large, if they stretch the page in width or take up half the screen on height there will be problems. You may post larger pictures of your character in your profile.
11) Proper grammar and spelling please, check what you post in a spell check, it only takes a moment and makes you seem clever.
12) When you have a character speak, use quotation marks
example "Why yes I did."
On that same not, telepathic messages or thoughts should be in italics.
example "I'm in your head, reading your thoughts."
13) If your account hasn't been active for up to one month, then your account will be deleted.
14) As this site is in an Alternate Universe, members are welcome to put a twist or to reinvent characters, including Marvel characters not generally associated with the X-men, and reinventing them as mutants so they fit into the scenario. While minor twists are fine, major changes will require an approval from 2 admins.
15) Apps should contain all details of a characters abilities, even with canons. As this is an AU site, if it isn't in the app, its not in the character. If you leave out an ability from the app, and try use it later, staff will ask you to edit your posts and refrain from using the ability. It being 616 Canon on this site will not matter, its not canon in this AU.
16) There is no limit on how many characters a player may have, but beyond the 4th requires permission from staff and 20 IC posts on all character accounts before applying for a new one.
17) From this point on, Custom characters may have training in One form of close combat if it is at significantly trained/black belt level, or two forms at a more intermediate level. Two shall be the limit. We also ask that members find a reasonable manner to have learned close combat, being taught by a random person for no visible reason other then to teach someone or something similar shall be refused. Have some creativity people, or just say they signed up for the class. Older characters (30+) may be given more leniency on this rule.
18) Customs, please have a celeb claim/picture base.
19) When asked if you agree to the rules, after saying yes (which is of course required for approval) please add "Nihil fieri non potest nobiscum" the XSFGY motto in the Ultimate universe, so we know you've read the rules.
20) Customs are allowed and encouraged. When making customs, be somewhat modest with powers. Although members who have been seen to be reliable and trustworthy may later apply for characters with a higher degree of powers. Should they not want to app another character, upgrading an existing characters powers can be discussed with site staff.
21) When writing an application, please write as much of it yourself as possible. If you simple must get aid from Wikipedia, Marvel.com etc, please leave a note at the bottom of the application. You don't want us thinking you're into plagiarism do you?
22) You may not RP control of a canon character that is not owned by another player, nor may you indirectly RP a character(s) by suggested they are currently engaged in a particular activity or in a certain place.
23) The First Classes, as this is an alternate universe RP site, the schools will not necessarily recruit mutants in the same order as in the comics. As such, each school has 5 spots for members of the "first class" and these may be app'd for. As such, this is a first come first served basis, and the characters will make the primary "X-men" or "Hellion's" squad, later squads shall fill the "New Mutants" roles. We ask that when writing your characters history, please be aware that if the "First Class" X-men and Hellion teams are full, you character cannot have been present since the beginning, and has only been present at the Mansion or Academy for at most, a year and a half.
24) Please note, this forum uses coding to remove limits on avatar size, this does not mean member are allowed to use overly large avatars. Ideally avatars should be no wider then two hundred pixels. Should you lack photoshop to edit your avatars, Photobucket has an ideal function allow you to resize any images needed. Avatars may only be of your character.
