With her white heels clicking on the cold tile floor Emma could feel the students and teachers tense with each step. They were trying to wipe their minds, not let her in. Well some were. One in particular didn't seem to care if she was let in or not.
She turned around, zoning in on the outstanding pupil.
Ah, Logan. So inviting. she thought to him with a welcoming smile. She walked towards the boy. A hulk and mass of muscle and rage on a cue point.
I was thinking of you the other day Logan. You seem to be showing extreme prospect. You are a extreme favourite among the teachers. Well, your learning technique is a bit off point, but I'm willing to look past it, she thought as stood next to him, sticking out in her white pencil skirt and white blouse with a black pinstripe vest. Her ash blonde hair was wound around her head in a tight bun, with a few tasteful wisps hung out.
I honestly feel you have no worry to die. You simply don't care what people think of you. A admirable trait indeed. What would you say to an offer for a special team? she thought as she lightly placed her hands on her hips.

Calvin Rankin was moving through the hallways of the Massachusetts Academy with no true destination in mind. He had a free period from class and instead of trying to catch up on some sleep or study for his test that was in a few hours Mimic was performing a different type of studying. Recently Mimic had made the decision to retain the power of another of his fellow classmates. Unlike the first power he retained, Ms. Frost's diamond form, this power required some adjustment and getting used to before he could utilize it fully. Thanks to Wolverine, a rather harsh and brutal classmate, Mimic was now in possession of both his very own healing factor and his senses had become enhanced as a side effect of taking on the healing factor.
As he walked the halls it amazed Calvin just how clear and vibrant everything seemed. The echoes of his feet on the tile where crisp and clear, clothing seemed to be more vibrant with more intense colors and his sense of smell had been heightened as well, it was amazing the smells that most people produced yet seemed oblivious too.
While he might have been impressed with his new senses the fact was Calvin needed to adjust to them also. The bell that sounded when it was time to change class had been agony the first several times he had heard, not because it was too loud but because too Calvin it had become far louder then normal. Since he really didn't want to give up something as useful as a healing factor, even at half the strength of Logan's, so he would have to learn to live with the senses.
Mimic turned the corner and ironically saw Wolverine himself standing there. Standing next to him was none other then Emma Frost herself. While most students and faculty would try and clear their minds from the Headmistress Calvin didn't even try. Calvin had simply resigned himself to the fact that if she wanted to read his mind she was going to and even if he mimicked her telepathy she had far more practice with the power then he ever would and would beat him in a contest anyways.
It was somewhat strange to seem the two of them just standing in the middle of the hall but it wasn't like Mimic was going to be the one to judge.

Logan wasn't thrilled at the idea of a telepath being in his head, but one got used to it when they had spent so much time in the Academy. It was simple one of the things Ms. Frost tended to do. Read your mind, or hold telepathic conversations.
When she mentioned some sort of special team, Logan was unsure, he was already on her Hellion's, and they weren't particularly active at the moment. What could a new team do that the Hellion's couldn't? Still, Emma gave Logan free food, a roof over his head and an education. Hearing her out was the least he could do.
"What you got in mind?" asked the Canadian youth, his arms, folded at his chest as his back leaned back to the wall stayed in place, he didn't really move at all, just thought back an answer he knew she'd hear.

Emma smiled as she awaited Logan's answer. He was such a interesting person. A feral creature more than human who could tear a group in two.
"I'll withhold that until I can find a few more members. But I promise you can let out your most animal-istic natures." Emma said as she let a lingering hand rest n Logans arm.
She flicked her head around and her eyes fell on one f her favorite students. Calvin Rankin;Mimic. Probably one of the more powerful mutants strength wise. Calvin, shouldn't you be studying instead of lurking around? Emma thought into his head in a playful tone. She met his eyes, waiting for his answer.

Thanks to his new hearing Calvin was able to pick up Wolverine's comment. Since he hadn't heard Ms. Frost say anything it was fairly safe to say that she had communicated with him telepathically.

Like she was now doing with him obviously. Calvin didn't even flinch as the "voice" of the Headmistress sounded off inside his brain. There was no reason to try and fight or avoid such intrusions, hence why he kept his mind open for her since she would just drill inside anyways if she wished to.
Yes Ms. Frost I should. However I need to adjust to my new heightened senses that I appear to have picked up since choosing to retain Wolverine's healing factor. Once I have I will of course continue with ensuring I do my best here at the Academy.
He didn't say the words out loud because frankly Mimic was certain how his fellow classmate would react to the information that Calvin was using the very thing that made him unique as if it was his own. Up until now the only power that Calvin had chosen to retain since coming to the school was Ms. Frost's diamond form.

Ever the thinker Mr. Rankin, ever the thinker. That is one of your more admirable traits she thought back to him as she smiled slightly.
She turned back to Logan, but thought better of it as she put a 'one moment' finger to him. She turned in the hallway and looked towards Calvin.
Calvin...I'm curious...when did your powers begin manifesting? Emma thought as she started walking towards the boy.

Thank you Ms. Frost he replied to her again.

It was still strange for Calvin to hold an entire conversation inside his head. For whatever reason though Ms. Frost didn't feel the need to say the words out loud and it certainly wasn't his place to try and correct her.
It's hard to say but it's believed that sometime around the age of 13 I started to mimic the intelligence and physical attributes of my classmates and started to excel above the rest. My mutation became at full strength when I was 17 and witnessed two mutants running amok back home. When they got too close I mimicked both of them at once. And there it was, practically Calvin's whole life as a mutant up to this point. He wasn't sure why Ms. Frost wished to know all this about him but hopefully the answer he had given was appropriate to the question.
