Admin Note: Due to this character being used only very briefly, staff will allow the character to be "retconned" from site history, and the following app is open to full modification.
Name: Tandy Bowen
Age: 16
Place of Birth: Virginia
Applying to: Xavier's
In what capacity: Student
Family:
Melissa Bowen (mother),
Phillip Carlisle (stepfather)
Father Michael Bowen (uncle, deceased)
Height: 5'5
Weight: 115 lbs.
Appearance:
(Not using the original Dagger picture...it just doesn't look good)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Skin: Caucasian
Build: Slim and athletic
Dagger Full Shot
Skills:
Dagger has moderate experience at street-fighting, and Dagger's combat techniques utilize her light powers and ballet dance training, as well as her sense of spatial relations, which had been heightened by her temporary blindness.
Personality:
Reserved and gentle, but at the same time stubborn. Dagger doesn't like to go out and meet lots of people, due to her rather sheltered upbringing, she didn't have much of a chance to develop her communication skills and is therefore quite insecure who she is. On the whole, she still comes off as a rather gentle person at first glance. She is protective of her feelings and her emotional well-being.

Codename: Dagger
Mutant Abilities: Dagger can generate and throw "light daggers" which stun targets by forcing them to confront the darkness in their own souls. Her light can also cure drug addictions in some people, as a side affect of that painfully enlightening experience.
Effectively, this process revolves around the victim's inner emotions, such as shame, doubt and fear. Her abilities will not work on someone with a incredibly strong will or mental ability. She has yet to discover any other use for her abilities aside from manipulating the foe's inner emotions.
Weaknesses: Dagger's mutant power cannot actually physically damage someone, as the damage is always psychological. Also, the daggers must penetrate some form of skin to be effective, thus, her attacks would have nill effect on a being such as Colossus. She is also quite insecure in who she is, and is liable to manipulation and fear.
History:
(Excuse me if this is a little...standard. Running out of ideas for characters!)
Tandy had a rough upbringing as a child. Her father died of drug and alcohol poisoning when she was only 5 years old. She couldn't possibly understand the depression her father was going through at that age, but the last few images she had of him, were terrible ones of him drunk or quite simply, passed out. Her mother found it increasingly hard to deal with the drugs and alcohol. 3 months before his death, they seperated, with the father taking custody of the child; as horrible and unlawful as it was. Her mother seemed to want nothing to do with Tandy, and so she was left in the care of a drunken father.
When her father died, Tandy moved back in with her mother. Her mother seemingly had a epiphany and took great care of Tandy, making sure she was growing like a normal girl. Yet, when she came to the age of 13, her mother had begun dating another man. Around this age, a daughter needs the attention of her mother, but something had happened. Her mother began to ignore Tandy; it was as if everytime her mother looked at her, she was reminded of the drunken father.
Tandy tried to make up for the lack of communication at home, at school, but, she was only just known as Tandy Brown, the nice girl. She wasn't exactly popular throughout her high school; despite her best efforts. This poor process seemed to continue right up until she hit 16. Her mother and her boyfriend soon married, effectively sealing Tandy out of her mother's life, forever.
She was neglected by both parties, and so she ran away. Stealing money from her step father, she somehow made her way to New York. Here, she realised how alone she truly was, and quickly searched for a shelter. She was taken in by a homeless helpers organisation as was given a roof under her head. It was during her time here her powers manifested.
She would often have recurring nightmares about her father and the nature of his death. She hated how he died abusing drugs and alcohol, and the worst thing was, she was surrounded by broken people who did indeed abuse alcohol. It hurt her so much that she used to cry out to God that she could make a difference, but, nothing happened. One day, something changed. She saw someone drinking, and something in her snapped. She began crying at the person, begging them to stop destroying their lives. When they ignored her, she yelled and pointed her finger at them. From her finger shot a light dagger that pierced their soul. They immediatley fell to the ground, clutching their head, verbally apologizing for all the shame they had caused throughout their life.
Tandy had no idea what she had done, or what it was, but it seemed someone in the shelter, did. She was approached by one, older woman, whom told her secretly that she was not first to have a event like that. She told Tandy that she could not stay here, it was not safe. Instead, she told Tandy of the rumour of there being a school for those 'less fortunate' than others, and advised her to check it out.
Obviously, she found herself at Xavier's, and she promised herself she would control her powers so she could help people.
