Genosha is a "Paradise on Earth" for mutants created by Magneto, believing that mutants must gather, establish a home and prosper before humans have the chance to lock them away in concentration camps. By a variety of means, Magneto has been bringing mutants to Genosha for the last two decades. Originally Magneto used his own abilities to construct all the buildings (making it a far cheaper process, among other benefits). Energy is provided to Genosha by a variety of clean, efficient and renewable sources, mainly solar, wind and hydro power. Mutants with electricity generating abilities also operate in power plants, further providing cheap energy. Thanks to a school system created originally by Magneto, and later tweaked by mutants with enhanced intellects, the school systems produces students of great talent. Science on Genosha has been so successful, that the jungles outside Hammer City (the capital and only major city of Genosha) are populated by genetically re-created dinosaurs (modified to be more docile, of course).
